1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do you collect PHOTO's of BJD's?

May 25, 2008

    1. I save pictures of BJDs all the time. If I love the sculpt, faceup, or outfit, I save it just because I love how it looks. I never copy the idea though. They are just to look at.

    2. I save many doll pictures. They are beautiful. Just to see the dolls as they are loved by their owners is cute. Plus to see a doll you anticipate getting given a different life by another is inspiring.

    3. I do have a collection on my computer of all kinds of BJDs to use as references photoshop material when I decide on what doll to get!

    4. oh god. i think i broke my first computer by saving tonnes of doll photos! even when i moved the photos to an external hard drive it was so slow!! only trouble is now i cant remember what half the dolls or faceup artists were called :( wish i was smart enough to save details with the photos

    5. I have my own photos. It's easy enough to enjoy pictures of dolls through Flickr, Instagram and DoA. However, I will make a collage of the next doll I intend to buy. I'll even add the wigs, clothes and eyes I want to the collage. It helps me stay focused on what I need, instead of just buying everything!! I save pictures of clothes and stuff I want to make for my dolls. I don't mean bjd clothes, but actual people clothes. It really helps inspire me when I feel like sewing.

    6. Yes if I see something that is interesting I will keep it in my BJD folder on my computer. I also label it so I know where it was from

    7. So guilty of this! But I love having lots of pictures as inspiration, and also to help me see different directions I could potentially take a doll I'm interested in. And of course, I just love looking back through the lovely pictures as well~!

    8. I save some to my phone so that I can quickly look at some of my favorite photos, but others I just leave in my flickr favorites folder. It helps keep me patient while I wait for my first dolls to arrive.

    9. YES!! Oh gosh yes, and then I flick through them and drool over the prettiest ones! I tell myself it's for art inspiration... but I think I actually just like looking at them :P

    10. I collect photos of the most beautifull dolls :) But I like not so many dolls. Also I have a folder of interesting make-ups and modifications.

    11. I also have a huge collection of pictures of bjds and clothes for them and stuff. I love to have my folders really organized so I have lots of sub folders and sub sub folders :XD:.

For each doll idea I have I've made a separate folder and there I have pictures of the sculpts I'm considering for those characters and clothes I would like for them or faceups that might be like what i'd want for them. And I also have photo references of human clothing or makeup that give me ideas for my bjds. This really helps me organize my thoughts when designing a character so it's more than just picture hoarding (which I am also guilty of lol) it's also a practical thing for me.

    12. I am guilty. :D

    13. I have a bjd pinterest board were I post pics of bjds I like. Furthermore I favorite Flickr pics of bjds and now there is also my blog. So yes, kinda.

    14. I like using company pictures of the dolls I am very serious about as screensaver/wallpaper for my notebook at home.

    15. i love to collect pictures of bjd. especially art pics and pics of beautiful clothes i wish to sew for my coming girl

    16. Only of the dolls I plan on buying in the future. I mainly collect owner's photos so that I know what to expect.

    17. oooh yes yes yes! I collect photos of all the sculpts that I love :D

    18. Yes, I do.
I save pictures of BJDs, alot of pictures on my computer. :D

    19. I do! :XD:
I save some photos of my "Wish Dolls but will never get them" in my folder and I watch them almost everyday. Most of them are from company official photos like Volks Okita Souji, IOS Lacrimosa, etc. I enjoy just to watching them. Anyway, I also save photos which I take by myself and last time I just made a photo book for my bjd. I plan to make second one next year, if I can take more than 120 good photos.

    20. I'm surprised how many people do this.
But I too, am guilty. I save pictures of favorite sculpts, beautiful faceups, poses, outfits, and tutorials. I feel really inspired whenever I look through it. Helps keep my creative juices flowing.
