1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do you collect PHOTO's of BJD's?

May 25, 2008

    1. Yes. I have thousands and thousands of them on my hard drives (laptop and the portable/external drive I use for file storage), and on my work computer (my screensavers are picture slideshows).

    2. I've been doing this for years as well. I'm not a big commenter on other people's photos but I appreciate them by saving them on my computer and looking at them from time to time. And, like kiyakotari, I also have a picture slideshow as my sceensaver. I mostly save owner photos but I have a lot of company ones, as well as face up and clothing photos. I have less other people's photos than my own but there are still thousands and I've had to make dozens of subfolders for them.

I do find that my tastes gradually change, so every once in a while I look through the folders and clean them up (takes me hours). Also, I really wish more people watermarked their photos with an address to their site or something, because sometimes I wish I could find new photos of a certain doll but I can't remember the owner. So, lately when I've saved photos I've renamed them so that I see which community/site I got it from and who the owner was. I hope that'll help me find my favorite dolls in the future.

    3. I used to do that. Maybe I should get back in the habit. :3

On deviantArt I have a collection of BJD photos - if that's what you mean.

    4. i love bjd photos so i always store in my hd i love to watch them from time to time

    5. Absolutely! X3

    6. I save photos of dolls I want...this helps me to make up my mind if I really like the doll....I need all the help I can get! Lol.:?
Lets face it, there are some gorgeous doll photos on this forum and like alot of other members, I sit and admire the ones I've saved every once in a while....some of them I know I will never buy as I'm not rich....but it's nice to dream....it would be a different story if I won the lottery though! ;)

    7. I have a BJD 'collection' on DeviantArt, but I don't really save any onto my computer unless it is an outfit I like and want to try making something similar. If there is a gallery thread I particularly like on here I generally just subscribe to the thread and go back to look.

    8. I only keep photos of dolls I've already bought and will buy soon.

    9. I usually keep photos of specific models of dolls, to see what other owners do with them. I use them for mostly inspiration

I may start saving ones for face-ups... since I like to see what possibilities there are 83

    10. Oh, definitely yes. ^_^ Whenever I browse around Y!Japan, I end up with a small herd of photos smattered around my desktop. I like to keep them for reference for future face-up ideas sometimes.

    11. yes. i saved over 2000 pictures of BJD

    12. Yessss~
In my BJD folder I have subfolders for sculpting ref, (inside of joints and stuff) painting ref, hair I like, clothes I like, my favorite sculpts, and Hanano. (My fave BJD maker, he gets his own folder with practically every picture from him blog. <3 )
So far it says there are 462 files.
It's not all BJDs, there are some real people and some drawings and other random stuff too.

    13. I have plenty of photos from doll meet ups with other people's dolls. And a few other outstanding dolls I liked.

    14. I'm a chonic picture save with most topics, but with dolls, not so much. I tend to subscribe to threads or favourite pictures on Flickr before I save them, which I should probably do since sometimes the pictures I love get taken off. That said, I really only have a handful of doll pictures, perhaps a hundred or so compared to the 10,000+ that are in my folder of other subjects.

    15. Yeah I've got a folder on my computer for dolls.
I have maybe 150 pictures right now?

Most of them are the official images from IpleHouse, DoD and such.
a few are pictures from here.

Every now and them I'll show them to people I know. I've actually sucked a couple people into the hobby that way. XD
      Just got someone today actually.
Showed them a bunch of pictures, told them about prices, some websites, and now they want to save for one. XD

    16. I actually don't save pictures of other people's dolls--though I probably should start! After going through three computers in a really short time, I started to value having a "clean" hard drive. I don't save anything I don't need, and almost all my extra stuff (like my own photos of my own dolls) are saved on an external.

I actually saved one photo of another member's dolls, and it was Midnitestar7's photo of her Cuprit. I saved it because I was searching for it to find out what doll it was--I just HAD to have one. Once I learned what doll it was (and since bought one!) I deleted the photo.

    17. I do!
I do not reproduce them anywhere, but I DO keep pics from this site or companies on my compy in a file folder that I use as a screensaver. It's preeeetty.

    18. Well, I always love to save pictures of all the dollies that inspire me in little ways. It's my special little doll folder that I tend to keep to myself. <3 c:

    19. YES and my file has the same name! i must have hundreds of photos of random BJDs now, most of them are owners dolls, but some company photos are so beautiful i have to keep them. i also have a huge archive of photos of dolls i would like to have and i collect photos of them taken by their owners.

it would be really great to have an artbook full of beautiful bjd i would definitely buy it

    20. I don't actually "save" photos of dolls, but I do like to go back to ones I like often.
