Do You Dress Your Dolls to Suit You, Or Them?

Nov 20, 2008

    1. I really think about the style before I buy the doll. I find some boys look best in military garb while others would only don more "cutesy" gear, while others would look best in lolita or aristo style, etc. I go for one that would look best in the styles I like most. The same goes with girls. Since I don't buy them to suit characters I already have in my head, the character develops, as well as their style, while I own them.

    2. I dress them to suit them, based on the personalities I've given the character that doll embodies.

    3. I dress my dolls to suit my tastes because I'm the one that chooses their personalities. Dolls do not have a choice in the matter.

    4. I dress to suit them and their characters, within a color theme that pleases me.

    5. I would dress them to fit their personalities. But I guess it's kind of both since I created the personality for there characters.

    6. I dress them to suit me, if I don't like it they won't be wearing it, that simple.

    7. personally it's a bit of both as I think about their personalities and choose or make clothing to suit. Of course this means that I'm directly involved as I'm choosing clothing styles that I like.

    8. usually theirs, but the Saiyan armour on Clover
      that was all me

    9. My boyfriend thinks you're awesome by the way.

I think for me it's going to be a combination of both. Since my dolls won't have concrete characters/stories, what suits them will not always be the same.

    10. I'm dressing them mostly to suit them... but I also have to like it. If I don't like it then I won't like it on my dolls.

    11. Both probably. I dress them to fit their character, but I can't seem to ever find anything that is just really 'them' so I end up buying stuff I think they would wear instead XD

    12. I dress my dolls in clothes that suit thier characters, but it's never something I dont like xD I love all the clothing I buy for my dolls :) But there also things that I love and dont buy because I simply dont have a doll who could wear it. Like Dollheart outfits. They are amasing and there's few outfits I really want, but my girls will look weid in them because its not their style :'(

    13. I dress them to suit them. Not all dolls look the same in the same outfit in my opinion.

    14. Sorta both. I make all their clothes, so it's more what I feel like making up at first, then I have to decide who it would be for. My SD started out in a peasant skirt and blouse because I envisioned her character as an country girl from the 1800's, but she evolved into a contemporary teen in her embriodered jeans and Twilight tee. My Sleetwealth Briar is the most versatile - she can wear ANYTHING and still be -- well, herself. At first I imagined her as a country girl too, but she's turning into a real fashion plate! She's currently sitting around in a knitted bathrobe that I made up from some fluffly yarn I found at a yard sale. Contemplating, I suppose, which of her outlandish outfits to wear next.

    15. I try to dress mostly to suit his personality but every now and again I think up of something that he would not think twice about not wearing like a musclesuit(like in spongebob) :D for laughs.

    16. I would say to suit them...but if that was completely true Maria-Lorina would only wear pink. Although in Ilari's case I can't imagine putting anything fancy on him, due to his character.

    17. I dress my dolls according to their personailties. I like them to look cute but they wear a lot of things I would never wear or they don't wear things I know would look good on them because it wouldn't match up ith the 'person' they are

    18. i do what i like and what fits my dolls style, i mean i wouldnt my my boy a suitjacket that i liked because it would contradict his character, but i would buy him a nice hoddie i liked because it would match his character.
but i guess that goes with out saying. but i guess it would have to be something realy nice for me to buy it and go against his character (For example i would buy him a filly pink lolita dress because i liked it and wanted to horrass him XP)

    19. Both for me, actually.

I dress my dolls the way I think they would like to be dressed most of the time, however, I buy things for them that I like when I think it would look nice on them. Most of my boys hate suits, they wouldn't wear them, because they're stuffy. Most of wouldn't wear hip and modern stuff either, but I put them in it because it's what I want. ^_____^ Lol, guess I'm just indecisive.

    20. Usually there charecters, but if they annoy me to badly sometimes...
