1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do You Dress Your Dolls to Suit You, Or Them?

Nov 20, 2008

    1. I try to get what my doll wants, or what looks good with his set hairstyle and eyes. Blond hair, blue eyes, and a demon with black hair and gold eyes. Bartlebee is extravagant and dramatic, and the hujoo boy is more simplistic and definitely enjoys brighter colors.

    2. I'm going to dress my sweetheart fitting to his character, I think that's important. Modern clothes or punk style i.e. just won't fit him. Not for my eyes, that is.

    3. A little of both. My dolls don't have names, let alone characters, but they are starting to develop personalities. At first I would pick stuff I liked, but now I choose what I think they would like.

    4. I dress my dolls to suit them but sometimes if I really like something I will try it on them even if it isn't their usual style as it can be a good way to find out other things which suit them or bring out other parts of their personality that you wouldn't have though of or known about otherwise.

    5. It depends for me. The first Outfit I ever bought was more my style because I wasn't sure what character she had yet. And sometimes it won't just look right but maybe it will look good for someone else :)

    6. according to the character. for instace, ingrid isn't one to wear "normal" clothes. she's a classy lady.

    7. I do it for both. I consider my doll an actor of a character for my story and I would dress him as such. But then I would like to switch it up just to see what else he is capable of being. I hate limited my doll to just his character if that was the case I would feel like he would be complete and more than likely sell him lol.

    8. I dress them to suit themselves. Unfortunately, most of them do not seem to share the same sense of style as me..... :(

    9. I dress them in the styles that they like, but sometimes I dress them up in things I know they hate just because I can:lol:. I then change them back into something they would actually wear to avoid the unhappy vibes that accompany these wardrobe changes.

If I really like a certain style of clothes and none of my dolls will wear them,... well the hunt for another begins again.

    10. A bit of both I guess? I like the idea of my dolls each having their own style. They're not based on pre-existing characters of mine or anything, but they definitely seem to develop personalities the more I handle/play with them.
But ultimately they'll still wear things that I like, even if it's not something that I would wear. If that makes sense XD

    11. My dolls all have their own styles, but they're generally pretty standard. They all generally wear tees and jeans, or combinations there-of, except Nyne who is sometimes in more crazy clothes, but yeah, they're all pretty basic outfits. Its what I wear, and for me its the aesthetic I like, so they stick with it. I wish they had more....exciting styles, like super lolita, or super gothic etc, but so far they all just end up being tees and jeans kinda people!

    12. I would dress them to suit me. I don't really think of dolls as having their own personalities, but more as my personal creative outlet. I want to dress them the way I want to dress myself, but can't always do. Like a doll version of myself

    13. I try to dress my dolls in clothes that I like that suit them as well. My dolls don't have characters or anything so there is no set style they must wear or anything.

    14. Depends on the doll. I'm bringing in my first two dolls without clear backstories, so they are being dressed to suit me for the time being. I have developing characters in mind for dolls that I want to own someday and they will be dressed to suit them.

    15. I dress them to fit their styles not my own.

    16. I dont base my dolls on characters. i build characters for the doll. i usually have a plan when i buy them, and then that plan gets destroyed because the doll doesnt seem to like it (as odd as that sounds) my first boy was going to be just that. a masculine boy. but now hes ended up as this prissy girly doll and im not even sure what happened...

    17. I dress them to suit their personalities. Meggie is my quirky girl,so I design more outlandish outfits for her.
Dahlia(formerly Delphine) likes fancy gowns and expensive materials..which is why she's currently nude. She'd rather go naked than wear anything plain.

    18. I dress her to suit the both of us, there is a compromise between my doll and I (I get her to wear dresses with "manly" patterns like plaid; and she can wear her shirt and pants set)

    19. I dress my dolls to fit their character. However, the way i dress them also suits me haha. For my dolls, it is victorian clothing. It would bug me if my dolls had clothing that doesnt fit their character or time period.*_*

    20. I dress them to my taste/style, but they're all still different
