It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Do You Dress Your Dolls to Suit You, Or Them?

Nov 20, 2008

    1. Both. I love to see use different point of views for each of my dolls. The ones who i always leave as pure angels no matter what the cloth they are wearing are my two Yo-Tenshi's Yuki :| and Mamu :D

    2. I just realized. I bought my first fer (pewter) for my Lishe. Bought a second for my Suingintou (purple). Sold my Lishe, and although I still have another girl (and another coming - eesh!) I know that although I loves meself some fers, neither of them are going to be wearing it. So I guess I do buy stuff to my tastes, but do take into consideration what my dolls would or would not want to be wearing.

    3. It's definitely a bit of both for me. They have definite styles, but I'm not worried about dressing them differently for photos!

    4. i dress them to st both them and me, ^_^ they all have a lil bit of me in them so ya

    5. Definitely for them! I tried to dress my Delf in punk/goth style and had to listen to a month of whining and complaining until I found him some acceptably mainstream guy stuff. My Sard is always cold, so he wears a lot more clothes than I'd anticipated keeping him in ;) . My Baha will only wear pretty dresses, the frillier and pastel-er the better, while my Zuzu wants something a little simpler and more countrified. One of my Shiwoos refuses anything fancy or girly, and the other one dislikes either pink or white but likes skirts. Ringo only has two outfits, so he's keeping quiet so far. Yes, I'm probably nuts, but if my written characters have preferences and make unexpected choices, why shouldn't my dolls' characters be highly opinionated too?

    6. Well, both.
It must suit the dolls charakter.
And still I would not dress them with something I totaly dislike.
But I think we live together cause we have similar taste. ;)

    7. Both, I guess, since I decide what suits them. XD

    8. Same as everyone else really... I'd dress them to what they want, as long as it suits them :D
Also, it's like dressing your friend, girlfriend or boyfriend isn't it? lol

    9. right now i dress my doll out of charater. Thats only because i havnt found what type of clothing suits her.

    10. I think it is both.

I buy the clothes I like, they wear what they look best in.

Thus many outfits stay new in bags LOL LOL

    11. I just ordered my first doll yesterday. When I look at clothes, I find things that I like but am hesitant to want them because what if they won't suit my doll?

I won't be able to derive a personality for her until I actually see her.

    12. Well, it's obvious to me that most of us give our dolls personalities of their own. It's like we have multiple personalities and use our dolls to portray each different one really, so yeah, each one of them has their own likes and dislikes and that includes a fashion sense.

I, myself, see outfits that I think are totally hot on some women (like boots with skirts for instance) but when I try to wear the look myself I am just so uncomfortable! I know it's a hot look but it doesn't "feel right" on ME. :| I'm sure it's no different for/with our dollbabies.

My dolls (technically not even purchased yet) already have stories behind them, I know who they are/will be and that kind of dictates what they will and will not wear.

      :hollyberry

    13. Mine are dressed for their characters. If they were to dress how I would like to dress, Emma would be in some serious Punk Lolita and Yun would be cross-dressing half of his life away ;)
But, alas, Emma is a young teen who only wants to fit in, and Yun is just a laid back guy.
Also, there are some outfits that look good on other sculpts that I feel look horrible with this head/ those eyes/ etc. I always make sure the outfit will match my darling proportionally before I buy it (You know, Isabella + a barbie dress with MAJOR boob-pockets looks horrible) XD

    14. Same here. They wear what's comfortable to their characters. For instance, my Jordi wears pink, but I hate the color. It fits her though, and that's what counts to me.

    15. I hope I dress them to suit them, although picking them not to wear stuff that would I fear damage them like exposed zippers or sharp stuff is for both our sakes.

    16. I am going to force one of my girls (when I get one) into a Dollheart Fer dress. It won't suit her character at all, but I love the Fer too much. Other than that though, all my dolls dress like their characters.

    17. It would depend on whether the doll was meant to be a specific character or not.
When I get my first doll he's going to be one of my characters so he'll have to dress that way, but if I get a girl doll later I'll dress her in outfits I like, and things I wish I could get away with wearing. XD

    18. Each of my dolls got their own style, whether I like it or not, just like individual people. Only my first doll share my passion for gothic clothes, so we dress up together once in a while. :3

    19. I choose their "styles" and then dress them according to that - but if I see something I like that I think they'd look good in, I'll buy it  and of course at halloween etc we all dress up together :fangirl:

    20. Them of course. ^^ One would be be upset to tears if she would wear embarrassing stuff although it would be nice for the eye. The other would appear in my nightmares to make me change his clothes if I wouldn't dress him his way. :sweat
I rather stick to their likings. :)
