Do you ever feel guilty for having a favorite?

My first boy is my fave but my first SD and grail boy is also up there and yeh they both take a lot
of my affection but that doesnt make me love the others any less~~

 

It happens whenever I get a new doll, that doll automatically becomes my favourite. And sure, I do feel guilty but not very much. I play with my dolls equally, and take them out and take photos of them all. What makes me feel more guilty is when I'm buying clothes and stuff for my dolls and I have to choose which ones to buy to, and which ones that will have to wait until next time.

 

I think I favorite my girls over the one boy I have and I feel bad... I know they are inanimate but I feel I've neglected him and start to think I should sell him because I feel he deserves a better home?! I know, completely silly of me?! ;P and my first girl will always have a special place...

 

I do have a favorite, but I don't feel so bad about it. When I first got into the hobby I had a really hard time with the whole idea of "bonding" and thought that I wasn't liking the dolls I was buying, when really I just wasn't one of these people who could bond with an inanimate object like some other people can. Then I got my fourth doll, which I completely adore and finally felt kind of bonded to her. It's like I treat my first 3 dolls as artwork and objects and my fourth doll more like a cat :/

I don't feel too guilty though because to me my special doll is just that, something special, and the others are just dolls and look pretty.

 

I bought my first doll to know what bjd is like. I picked up one pretty doll which I could afford myself. She was awsome, like everybody's first doll. But then I fell in love with another doll and after some time I bought him. He was the doll of my dream, so my first doll couldn't compete with dream doll. I felt realy quilty. I have sold my first doll some days ago and I hope she will be her new owner's dream doll.

 

No, i dont feel guilty. I have found that i generally go through phases and periodically like one more than another but if i had one which i favoured for a long time then it wouldn't bother me. My taste alters all the time and i know that over time i will have to part with some, to pay for others, so to have a favourite would make the decision easier for me. My latest is my favourite at the moment because i love the face up i managed to create for her along with her outfit. The more i personalise a doll myself the more attachment i have. There is no right or wrong to the way we enjoy our collection - the fact that we deliberate over questions like this shows how much we involve ourself in this wonderful hobby

 

I definitely have a favorite. She gets first dibs and anything that looks pretty on her. The other girls get to share what's left. No guilt though. In the end I love them all and they all get nice things :P

 

Yes. Definitely a yes. I know they're dolls and they don't have feelings but Deidara not only has clothes like 1:20, Deidara:Souji, he is now just reduced to a head which I plan to get blushed to match Souji's body because I didn't like the Souldoll body. Souji is spoiled all the time.

 

I don't really have a favorite because all my dolls share my feels equal, but I do like one face a little better. It stills gets the same love as everyone else

 

I don't feel bad at all! I like them all in different ways, and they are all my favorites in their own "categories" (and each one has their own "category", ain't that clever? ). I do have one all-time favorite though, but I feel that's okay (unlike when I was little and had to kiss ALL of my plush animals in close proximity to me goodnight )

 

Yeah....it's hard not to have a favourite. My first big boy from Iplehouse is my favourite. He had no faceup and I didn't get him a carrier bag or even a box to put him away. He spent a long time at the corner of my bed, trying hard not to get kicked while I tossed and turned at night. I guess our shared experiences has earned him a secure place in my heart.

 

I do right now. I've just received a floater and she's currently using another dolls body. It's really upsetting me even though I know it's stupid :/ I'm guessing I mightn't wait as long as I intended to buy her a body.
I feel really bad for the doll who's body she's stolen, and I'm scared she's going to lose her 'favourite' status.

 

I don't have a favorite yet with my BJDs. I have favorites among my other dolls, and i definitely don't feel guilty. I have a long history with my favorites.

 

I have a favorite, and I don't feel bad about it. Elijah was the first doll I wanted, and a shell of one of my favorite OCs. I saw Iplehouse's Claude, and it was like: wow, that's my boy! I need him!

I can't imagine a day when he's not my number one, but if that day does come, I won't be sad. I can't imagine it being anything but wonderful to fall so in love with some new doll.

 

I have a favorite, and I don't feel guilty about it; the others are still loved, or they get re-homed with someone who will adore them more than I do.

 

My favourite among my dolls is Tyler (Resinsoul Mai). He's not my first doll, not my most expensive, not even my grail...but he's absolutely, unquestionably 100% my favourite. I don't feel the least bit guilty about it. As much as I may anthropomorphize my dolls in my imagination, I know that in reality they are just dolls. They aren't bothered by the fact that I have favourites, and I don't worry that the others will feel "jealous" or "neglected" because I have favourites.

Aside from Tyler, I have a few other dolls who are definitely more favoured than the others. Gabriel (IMPL Gnaeus), Piri (Resinsoul Sui), Pax (Resinsoul Song) and my two grail dolls Élise & Noé (Dollmore Ipsae & Kyle) just have a slight advantage over the others in my affection.

 

I do favor one doll over the others my first doll actually he's the most doll I think about and buy limited outfits for

I do feel guilty about the others so I try to treat them as equally as possible

 

I have a favorite my whole collection revolves around. I buy her sisters and brothers and best friends and blah blah blah. I don't feel guilty about it.

 

I never thought I could but I DO indeed have a favorite...and its the floating head! QmQ My MNF shiwoo vampire Basil...ever since I got him back even before he was faceupped he was my favorite. Technically speaking he was my first doll but then he got stolen & I recently got him back, gave him a new character & I fell in love I love him so much. My other boys Spooky & Zach are about equal but Basil is indeed the favorite & the only thing I feel guilty about is how much money I spend on doll related things...and I do feel a tad guilty about having a favorite but Basil WAS here first & he was my dream doll a MNF Shiwoo so it makes sense. I REALLY knew he was the favorite when he came home from getting face upped & I was taking pictures of him & I was just looking at him & realized that he was perfect, there was nothing I wanted to change & he looked JUST like my drawings of his character so yeah.

 

I don't know why but I tend to pick favorites with just about everything...
I already know that my incoming doll will become my favorite over my first doll simply because she was the first BJD that I ever really wanted,furthermore I also know that whenever I get my first Minifee he will become an instant favorite over both my girls.
