Do you ever name the dolls on your dolly wishlist?

I mostly don't name my dolls until I see them in person. I kind of find it hard to name something before I've met it XD

 

Uhhhh. Practically all the dolls on my wishlist have a name. Lol.
My list has simmered down a lot, so. Yeah. XD

 

One time I even named a doll not on my wishlist! Well technically it was on the MP and I was -sort of- considering him, but I ended up deciding against. He was a Bobobie Apollo and I jokingly referred to him as Polly.

 

I did it before... But the name changes sometime when I have the doll at home. So now, I only give a name to my new BJD when she's at home with her new custom

 

No, but what a great idea! I may just have to start. Lol.

Some of them, but only the ones I've really got a clear character in mind for. I don't usually choose dolls to house a preexisting character--instead, I let their characters develop based on the sculpt, and then weave the stories together from there. So some of the dolls on my wishlist--the ones who's sculpts really spoke to me--do get names.

For example:

Dika Doll Baixuan - Gabriel
Dreaming Doll Hiro - Hayden
Little Monica Bear - Cole
Dearmine Korat - Hana

However, I don't consider these names set in stone. If the doll gets here and a different name pops in my head when I see them in person, then that takes precedence.

 

Oh yeah I do! Mostly because they're shelling characters I've had for a while, so when I pick out dolls it's to match them. Makes it easier for me, that way. C:

 

I may have thought about the names, but I'm bit superstitious, and avoid speaking not-yet-at-home dolls with their names (and just preferring them with names of molds - like DC Agatha). So no names on wishlist for me.

 

I have lots of characters waiting for a doll-body, and so they all have names and personalities, and when I specifically go on a doll hunt and look through companies, I look for specific dolls that matches Hence, most in my wishlist already have names, just waiting for me to have the money to buy their bodies ^^

However, sometimes I stumble upon some gorgeous mold I just cannot keep my hands off of, and they end up either being impulse bought or on my wishlist (like the impossible Fairyland Tan Tika, with a female tan body.... ^^") and that doesn't get names until they're home ^^ But if I buy one on impulse, I usually at least think of names :3

 

Some of them yes, but some of them no. (The ones who dont have a specific character)

 

I have a tendency to come up with characters before I find dolls to shell them in, so yes!

 

Yes they pretty much all have names. Most of the dolls on my wishlist are all dolls that I've chosen for a particular character, so they are all pretty much named.

But every once and a while a doll will jump out at me and end up on my wishlist without a name. I love names though, so chances are though I'll end up naming him/her before ordering. The only time that hasn't happened is with my Caramel Ringo. He/she was a total impulse buy so I'm going to just wait until it gets here to decide both name AND gender.

 

Almost all of the ones on my wishlist have names... and even a slight backstory. I try to put alot of thought into dolls I wish to own in the future... but that's not to say that there aren't a few I just want because I just love their look

 

All the dolls I put on my wish list generally have at least an idea of who they are. They mostly have names, but a few I am still deciding on between a few

I currently have two on my wishlist and they both already have names! They're in my signature anyway but - Ella will be an Iplehouse BID Erzulie and Dallan will be an Iplehouse EID Taregan.

This is entirely to do with the fact the characters exist first for me. I build dolls to fit existing characters rather than buy a doll and let a character develop. I chose these two to shell because a) I saw Taregan and knew immediately he was perfect for Dallan and b) both of these characters are story-related to Alena, my existing Dollzone girl.

If money (and space) was no object my wishlist of named dolls would be far, far longer!

 

Yup! I have names for almost all the dolls on my wishlist, or at least some sort of idea to what I want to call them when/if I ever do order them ^^

 

i'm guilty of doing this. When i see the pictures of the dolls in my wish list i search for cool names forever until I find a good name. Sometimes I even start planning a bit of their character....

I do, although a few of them have several potential names, and they aren't set in stone. If the name doesn't fit once I get the doll, I'll change it. I also have a list of names I like and would consider for future dolls.
