1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do you ever name the dolls on your dolly wishlist?

May 31, 2013

    1. I only have one doll on my wishlist and I already have a name picked out for him.

    2. No. If there's anything I've learnt from all of my purchases so far, it's that they will always go against the personalities I have set out for them. I'll normally wait till they arrive, and spend some time with them to get a feel of what they are like before trying to come up with a name that suits them.

    3. Yup. I need to design characters I like around the dolls before I buy them, otherwise there's no point for me in actually getting the dolls. Right now my wishlist looks like:

Luts Honey Delf Taffy - Hideyasu
Island Doll Veranoen - Vissarion Kresimirovich
Island Doll An An - Éclair

    4. Me too. I think one they come home a few weeks later. They almost give themselves a name and story :-)

    5. Yep ! Totally... I'm just ordering two new DC dolls and they have yet their names...Uriel and Lénaïg <3

    6. Yes :D.
I rarely like keeping the original name. My dolls who are on their way were called Dexter and Bonnie, but I named them Reginald and Clothilde. The one on my wishlist is called Edwin, but I'm thinking of him as Oliwer Edwin, as some sort of a double name. I like Edwin, but it dosen't feel like it's enough :D

    7. 70% of the doll on my wishlist already have a name
      :)
but I can change it at doll receipt :)

    8. Yes I do.
      Lucifer for Ringdoll Grown Nair
Loki for Ringdoll Grown Lucifer Type B (if I find a better sculpt this will change)
Prometheus for Granado Uranus (which will be hard for me to get... if ever)
Cheval for Little Monica Harmony Kliff

    9. All of my dolls on the wishlist are named. Granted, it's because they are all based on characters from mine and my husband's comic (except for the Feeple65 Chloe, she's based on my Everquest character). It will be a while before I get another doll, but hey, a girl can wish, right?

    10. Totally! I was showing someone (not a doll friend, but another creative sort) pics of one of my grails last night and explaining who she is and what her story will be. It's going to be awhile before I get her, though. But I can plan, can't I? :)

    11. All the dolls on my wishlist are characters that I want to shell, so they already have names. X3

    12. Yes. I find it easier if they're named before they arrive. It also makes them feel more 'real' as you wait and save for them. You feel more like you have a bond, before you even meet :)

    13. I have all my future dollies fairly well planned out for now anyway. I have wanted BJD for so long, I have had time to plot :P Tripp went through several stages of planning before she was eventually purchased and I thought of her name early on.
      SoulDoll Vito Jang- Lazarus
Batchix Mini-Machina Blip- Zero (she will be character based though so her name was easy)

    14. Yup, but they sometimes decide they don't like that name and decide to change it (Kyte used to be called Star and Ciel used to be Julien). So far I have:

Dimitri - LTF Cheshire Pongpong ver 2
      Skylar - MNF Celine
      Pascal - MNF Shushu
      Benji -MNF Shiwoo
      Rezeth - Soom MD Dorothy
      Toby - Migidoll Janus Miho
      Meredy - WithDoll Cecily
      Milo - DollLegend Wei Xi

Dimitri, Skylar, Toby and Meredy are the only one's I've ordered so far, so I may change my mind on the others later.

    15. Yes ^^ I have a whole list of names and as I add dolls to my wishlist I try to pair them with a name. Then I can refer to them by name to my family and it makes them feel more complete.

      April Story Stella - Aria
      DC Douglas - Loran
      Dollpamm Shark - Spencer
      DZ Minas - Paprika
      RS Song - Jennie
      Etc

    16. I do if I can think of a good name. I have a couple of dolls on my wishlist that already have names but the rest don't. I also seem to change my mind a lot when it comes to names.

    17. i don't necessarily name them, but i definitely create stories and plans for them ahead of time--sometimes with other dolls on the wishlist! that way, even if i don't have the doll physically, i still have an idea for them.

    18. When I first fell in love with the dolls I made up a list with the dolls that I really wanted!
I named them and wrote background stories for them.
That was a long time ago though, so some things have changed!

    19. I did for the first time sometime between midnight and this morning, after I finally figured out the two I want for the characters I want them for. If I hadn't put their names to the sculpt I would've forgotten which one I wanted for which character.

    20. My doll wish list is graded, according to how bad I want the doll, and not many dolls reach that situation.
However, If a doll reaches a specific level, I start dreaming all sorts of stuff, like the name and the default wig My doll will always wear,
the kind of image I want it to be.. and so on. I almost fool myself as if I really have one, but realize I don't and cry silently.
