1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do you ever name the dolls on your dolly wishlist?

May 31, 2013

    1. Yes definitely, I have English names in mind for the two I want to get. I'm building the characters in my head. Will it 100% stay when I get the dolls? Maybe, but for now I do have two names in mind.

    2. Yes! I'm open to changes (Hemlock was originally going to be called Juniper!), but one of them is fixed as I made his name up myself and he's going to be my next doll to save up for.

    3. All the dolls on my wishlist are actually already planned for certain characters.
So of course they all have names already. =D

Dollzone Yuu: Izuo Takao (called Aoi ;D)
      Dollzone Mo: Hoshiame Aito
      Dollzone Megi: Fuyuyuki Junko
Illusion Spirit Xiao Ji (who's head actually will arrive hopefully next week x.x): Wu Xiang Jia
Migidoll Jina boys: 1. Collin Li 2. Ishihara Masao
      Migidoll Cho: Matthew Li
LeekeWorld Chouette: Either he will be a kind of BJD-family Mascot and will be called Chou (yes, very creative) or he'll be a child version of Reito (which was actually first planned but I feel bad doing a child version for one character and not for all the others... ToT)

    4. If it's a doll I know I'm going to get then yes. I give it a name and a personality.

    5. My doll list is based on characters, so they all have names. It's a little weird for me when I forget that the name I have for them isn't the name of the sculpt :P

    6. I don't name my wishlist or incoming dolls. ♥ I wait until they arrive. When I've tried to name them before arrival I've had a hard time feeling it was the right name.

    7. I named the DoD T. Shall on my wishlist Enaldine. Besides that, I have names for dolls that I want but they aren't attached to particular sculpts.

    8. The only dolls on my wishlist that I've named are DC Bella and Souldoll Bonnie, and that's a cop out really because all I've actually done is decide to keep their sculpt names. They're going to be best friends and the names Bella and Bonnie are just too cute together to pass up. For the others I'd want to get them home and get to know them in person before giving them a name, silly as that may sound.

    9. all the BJDs I'm currently in the market for all already have names since they're apart of the same story that I've be planning for the past little while.

    10. I've named most of the dolls on my wish list.

*Tao Huandao (Angel of Dream) is my grail. He'll be Johnny Hailey, the lead character of my stories.
*Apirl (Xaga Doll) will receive the name April, since I think that's what Xaga Doll wanted to type in the first place.
*Mini-Machina Delta (Batchix) is Deuce X. Machina, a play on the Latin phrase "Deux ex machina."
*Nena02 (Atelier Momoni) will be christened Larissa, after a minor Greek nymph
*Saya (Impldoll) will be Sayaka, because I like the name.
*Leonardo (Peaks Wood), will likely be shortened to "Leo" and be given some Italian surname.
*Bei (Resinsoul/Bobobie) will be Ylla, do to her resemblance to the Martians described in Ray Bradbury novels.
*Pongpong (FairyLand) will be Tatsumaki, because I like the name again.
*Luka (Angelheim) will stay Luka, because I like the name AGAIN.
*The Wishel's name will depend on what sort of body he or she comes with. So far names like Jezebel, Gabriel, and Wozzeck have led my fancy.

Johnny is now on my wait list rather than my wish list, so Luka and the Wishel have moved to my grail list. I know my odds of finding both are very long, but I'm looking anyway, just for the fun of it.

    11. Hmm I'd say no, the dolls usually get their names when I have them in my hands and tried on some clothes and so on. Otherwise I couldn't be sure how to name them xD
Before I have them with me I call them by their sculpt names.

    12. 100% yes. The sculpts that I want all seem to have a habit of naming themselves which I find helps with finding their characters and what direction that they'll go in.

    13. I create the characters before looking for dolls, and if I see a doll I want but that doesn't fit a character... then I create one for that sculpt if I want it enough.

    14. Depends, my wish list sort of has two sections... Dolls I wish for, and dolls that are definitely going to happen in the near future. The ones that are planned purchases will for sure get a name.

    15. The characters usually come first with no name, just a personality, and when I see the right sculpt the name comes naturally.

    16. Sometimes I come up with a name before I purchase the doll, but it's subject to change upon arrival, just in case the doll disagrees. ;)

    17. Always! It helps me work toward my goal, too, you know?

Like right now, I saving up for a Luts Delf William. His name will be Avery.

    18. It depends. I definitely have a name ready, if the doll is going to be based on an already existing character of mine. But sometimes a name for a doll just pops up in my mind while looking at it, even if I don't have a specific character planned for it yet.
Most of the dolls on my wishlist are nameless yet, though.

    19. tbh, i find it super difficult to name a girl doll. Always. Thus, all of my three girls are named after some men (two musicians and a poet :) but when it comes to boys... I have more ideas than dolls :D And, to answer te question - yes, I've already came up with a name for my next boy that I only have on my Wishlist now :3 having found the name makes me want him even more *0*

    20. Yes! I usually create a character around the sculpt.
However, sometimes names and characters change so nothing is concrete until the doll arrives. :x
