1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do you ever name the dolls on your dolly wishlist?

May 31, 2013

    1. Only one of my dolls had a name while she was on my wishlist. That was Anzu. Otherwise they had naming ceremonies after they arrived despite me already having I have a new name in mind for a new character though Junxing but he has yet to have a sculpt.

    2. My whole wish list is named in advance, because I start with a character and then try to find a sculpt, except in a couple cases. They're all characters from stories I write or one couple from a movie, who direly need their butterfly.

Iplehouse Stella- Lucille Sharpe (Crimson Peak)
Soom:Gluino mechanical vampire (Grim), tan Zak (Thanatos) and Vesuvia poison kiss (Hades)
Doll Chateau Zenobia made her own character, who by some miracle was in the same story as the three Soom dolls I can't afford. This is just a wishlist of the sculpts that were perfect for a character. Once I'm full-time next year, I might be able to afford some of them.

    3. Yes and I begin to think about their character and who they would be in my story

    4. Oh absolutely! They have names and characters. There are a few I'm still deciding on though :3nodding:

      Angell-Studio Xiangling - Ortensia
      MiniFee Risse - Rita
      MiniFee Mio - Felicity
      MiniFee Celine - Sylvia
      MiniFee Mika - Gabe
      ResinSoul Yao - Juniper
      Dearmine Angela - Purua
      Pipos Derek - Taisho
      Dearmine Dorothy - Sachi

    5. I do! Because the doll I want will embody my OC so he has a name.

    6. It depends, the dolls currently on my wish list are characters I want to shell, thus they all have names. The ones I impulse buy/bought with no plans tell me their name sometime after I get them.

    7. No, there's no naming on my end until I have a doll in hand. My bjd's usually aren't OC's or anything, though. If I were trying to find molds to fit OC's, it might be a different story.

    8. I tried! But when I got my boy, who was intended to be my character Eisai, told me his name was Cole as soon as I put him in his new clothes. So I've sworn off giving them names until they tell me who they are.

    9. All the dolls on my wishlist are sculpts that fit a certain character in my little writing journal. Yes, they do have names but I call them by the sculpt's name until I get them.

    10. I tried shelling pre-existing characters, but that didn't really work out for me... even picking a name beforehand ended up feeling really weird. I just let dolls tell me who they are now! I do turn possible names over in my head, but it's hard to come up with a proper name for a doll before I have them.

    11. I buy dolls based on existing characters (rp characters I've used in my rp'ing days), so they have a name even before they have a sculpt. :] Of course, sometimes I just really want a doll even if I have no character to fit them for, so I just make up one on the spot. Or the character I wanted the doll for ended up suiting a different doll better, so I change them around a little.

    12. Of course! I name every doll that I am interested in and even flesh it out with a character build and design. It is just how I operate.

    13. Only the dolls I currently have on layaway have names right now, so I guess that counts? xD
I have so many dolls that I want, that I haven't really thought of names yet~ Though I have had characters in mind for certain wish listed dolls.

    14. No, I don't. I have never given a name to a doll before I bought it. Some of my dolls have gotten names, some of those even have a character and backstory even if that might be no more than a sentence or two. But most of the dolls I have does not have names beyond the company and sculpt name.
