1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do you ever name the dolls on your dolly wishlist?

May 31, 2013

    1. Let's put it this way - if anyone were to check my wish list, the ones with names are the ones most likely to actually come home at some point, because they belong in the story (and thus have characters and names already). All the others might happen ... or not.

    2. No, I don't. I have enough trouble naming the dolls I actually have. ;)

Also my wish list is too much subject to change.

    3. Yeh I've already picked out names for my first BJD, but I try not to get too focused on that one doll I want, I think it jinxes it :D but hey that's just me!!!

    4. Because I feel my dolls name themselves, I am only allowed to buy ones who end up with names before they come home. It's a rule I stick to because I change my mind on sculpts a lot, and it's not until a doll has named themself that I know I really love that sculpt. So all the dolls on my wishlist always have names!

    5. Yes, it happens sometimes. I look at the promos, imagine character and then find a few suitable names :)

    6. Haha, usually, I try to force myself not to make names and plans for the dolls on my wishlist; when I do, I usually end up getting so attached that I just HAVE to have it. However, I have already decided that if/when I get Fdoll Lagina, her name will be Jenny. :)

    7. I've chosen the name based on the image that I want to create (color of the wig and eyes) and history of the gay that has to arrive from Dollzone. It was not so easy - my wish list containes about 30 names. :)

    8. I guess it all depends, for me. Eri, Alice, Giovanni, and Kiyomi are my 4 dolls that i named before i *Actually* got them, and since they make up 4/7 of the group, i guess it all depends on whether or not i had a character planned for them when i saw them ((or for Kiyo, a name i could call her when i went to the store to visit her while she was on layaway))

    9. Both yes and no. Some of the dolls on my wishlists that I've figured out a style for, have already gotten their names. For instance, as I wish to buy Souldoll Flett I see her as a Francis, with the nickname of Fritz. DC Cyril I'm planning to name Tau, but for Ipelhouse Roger I haven't yet found a name. Perhaps because I know that it's going to be a long time before I will ever afford him, so I won't be troubling my mind with a name for years to come xD

    10. Yes and no. I do have a character doll in mind who will be named Reinkutra. She will be a tan, she will be a 42cm, I have a few dolls in mind for this, but I haven't absolutely decided which sculpt I'm going to pick.

I also know I want a Dalsoo pet ari, but don't seem to name my animal dolls as easily.

    11. If a doll makes it to my wishlist then I have definite plans to buy the doll. They also will already have a name and a story. Right now I have the new Granado Dark Side Andrew and he will be named Santiago Arroyo Corvas.

    12. So guilty. My first doll I bought had a name before I even purchased her. I have OC's (partly named after my favorite actors) that I wanted to bring to life, so I looked for the dolls that most fitted the names. Out of the dolls on my wishlist, the S.D.V. Edmund is the main one that I truly long for even if I don't get the others. Don't have the money for him atm though.

Souldoll Vito Edmund: Guy Ford (nickname Boss)
Doll-Leaves Kira: Herbert Bogart (nickname Cub)

    13. Casting my ballot for the "yes" box.

I'm even planning to shell two of my main characters from my online webcomic into dolls at some point down the line.

      Looking forward to it. :D

    14. Yes! And for me that ends up making the "wish" a real want! Sometimes I've even named a doll at first online sight, before they even get on my wishlist, and this means I'm doooomed! Witness my latest, and perhaps last, acquisition, Volks SD17 Ryoma. From the moment I saw his promo photos, I knew his name would be "Romeo Saki", and that he was nothing but trouble! ;)

    15. Yes, but I don't list them, because I am never certain I will ever get that doll. I have a big ol' list that gets revised constantly so I never "officially" name them until they are home.

    16. Haha I'm bit funny about names, there's a select few that I really love. So my list is names first and then the dolls slot themselves into the right names after I find them. Having trouble with my new girl because I stupidly asked my boyfriend what he thought of what I was going to call her and her future brother. Now I'm so confused, it may be for the best because I wanted to also call my daughter (if I ever had one) the same name!

    17. I think of potential names but if I can help it, I do not give names to the dolls in my wishlist... just in case they get sold out or unavailable. Because if that happens, it will make me feel disappointed. :(

    18. Yes, I usually pick out names for dolls before I buy them. Three of the six dolls on my wishlist has a names.

      RingDoll Qinzhe - Hiroo Okame
      Dollzone Raymond - Funk
IOS Chaos - Ichimaru Gin

    19. I am planning on naming all my dolls after my beatiful nieces. Hope I don't have to force my sisters to have more kids!

    20. This is a really good way of thinking about it! Other than that, I have a few plans for dolls based on a webcomic, so I'm not even the one who named them!
