1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do you ever name the dolls on your dolly wishlist?

May 31, 2013

    1. No, never, 'cause none of them has a backstory. But now i'm experiencing the character coming first, i guess, not a sculpt first, as always. So i feel like i need to have someone named Aria soon. Also feel like he's gonna have the sleeping face, eyes closed. It's only the name for now, but it'a a lot to me. I always have a hard time figuring out their names.

    2. Guilty... I have a LTF Soo on my wishlist, whom already has a name, background story connected to by other doll and some stories written out.

    3. Definitely, I pick dolls based on my characters, so they have more than a name. Nationality, history, etc...

    4. If I am serious about getting the doll then, yes, it /must/ be named. :) As most of my dolls are characters, I feel the name is necessary. If it doesn't have a name, then I don't have to buy it. I can admire and enjoy it and go 'that's a pretty doll' but I can pass it over. It's when I see a doll and I now it's name that it's inevitable it will come home to me. XD (That's the red flag for my wallet.)

    5. Wah, I'm the worst for this thing... XD Not only their name... but...
I even already have their background story, their family (more dolls ! d'oh !), their job, etc. etc...

    6. Oh yes. Only reason mine have names is because I already have characters, I'm just finding the dolls to fit. :)

    7. Yes. Prior to buying the dolls, I get carried away and plan all sorts of things I want to do with them xD

    8. I only names the dolls which I am serious about buying them . They even had their background stories already ~ :D

    9. Definitely!

Possibly mostly because everybody in my wishlist is based on existing characters, so... XD;; They're mostly either Star Trek characters or AU versions of them. I have a Khan coming and my next buy will be an Iplehouse (probably Claude), to make a Kirk to go with Khan.
And then afterwards, probably younger versions of them, and maybe Spock also... so inevitably they will all be named after them, unless one of them suddenly 'decides' to be someone else after arrival. X3

    10. Sometimes. While he was on my wishlist, before I decided to buy him, my latest boy had a name. Another doll that in now on my wishlist has a name waiting for him should I ever buy him. However most of my dolls do not get names until they have been purchased or have arrived.

    11. Yup! Some of the ones on my wishlist are for characters I have planned. :)

    12. I keep their company names on my list. I only name them myself if they ever find their way here. ^^

    13. Some have names, but I don't think I'll get most of them.
      Dollchateau Alberta ; Pandora
Bluefairy Pocket Fairy Didi ; Lila
Fairyland Dreaming Marcia boy ; London
      FL Mirwen boy ; Leighton
FL Marcia x2 ; Laney and Maddox (Maddox will be just a head though, as he's Laney's male personality or something.
And finally, one that I'm definitely planning to get in may... Resinsoul Song ; Valentine~

    14. Yes! Sometimes all of the dolls on my wishlist at least have a name - some have also a vague idea about their personality, some have a full back story. I usually see a doll I want, and I name it - the character kind of develops itself by accident after that. Of course, some of these dolls never actually make their way to home, because I'm quick to change my mind or then I find something else I want. :'D I also have ready characters for whom I try to find a proper doll form... But usually these are characters that have had a doll shell in the past and I'm in the process of re-shelling them.
But I really do love coming up with names and characters so I do that to almost everyone on my wishlist. :3

    15. Yes! I always do! But thats because I choose dolls based on my characters (as well as how nice they look).

    16. No, the moment the doll gets a name, it needs to be bought asap. That is why I prefer to keep them nameless until I actually buy them.

    17. My next doll has been decided, soon as the funds are available and that may be awhile. A Soom Rosette Fir named Alice. She is going to be an Alice in Wonderland themed doll.

    18. Yes orz
I always make a list of about five or six names for each doll on my wishlist. I decide on a single name when the doll arrives and I can see their face in person

    19. I don't usually name my doll before ordering or receiving at least the head so i know what they look like. since i dont use dolls to shell ocs and i do my own faceup i just let me subconscious decide what looks right on the sculpt, and then i name them based on their face. However i do have a really strict naming scheme, My first doll's name started with L, her name was "Licht", and my second doll's name is "Mordigail" while my third is temporarily "Nova"...fun story is that originally I had my third doll being my planned second and received a name starting with M and surprisingly I received a gift head that I fall in love with and it was so much unnecessary internal struggle to keep the surprise child or not simply cause she is breaking my naming rule....in the end it all worked out though, and I hope one day i will have an alphabetical resin army...though that also means i'm limiting my collection to at most 26....26 dolls are a lot i suppose though

    20. I have done it with incoming dolls, but it all depends. If I find a good name and it fits the mold I have on my wishlist, then it happens. But if I fail to think of a name before they arrive, that's alright with me too.
