1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do you interact with your dolls on a daily basis?

Jul 24, 2013

    1. I get mayumi out of bed every day and pose her some where in my room and then but her back before I go to bed. If I am on the computer then I sit her on my desk. I change her clothes every three days or so and her wig once a week. I am still very new to the hobby and she is my first doll so the novelty hasn't worn off yet. I still feel like I need to spend time with her to get my moneys worth out of her plus it always makes me feel better. I think this will change as I get more dolls and get use to this hobby

    2. I often interact with my dolls every day, or every other day. Sometimes, it's just something as small as taking them off of their chair and letting them stare at me while I type or watch TV. I do feel guilty when I go through periods when I can't/don't play with them, even thought I know that they are not real.

    3. I go through phases where I spend more time interacting with my dolls, but lately I just look at them up on the shelf more than I do anything with them. I don't feel guilty, really, it is neither here nor there. They obviously don't feel bad, though I guess sometimes I wish I had more energy and time for them.

    4. I do. I might not be much more than a pat on the head when I wake up in the morning but I do see them everyday. My dolls are displayed in the bedroom and living room so I'm never very far from them when I'm home.

    5. I don't take mine out everyday. I had a body and a head sitting around in the box for nearly a year so...................

      yea ahahah

    6. Generally speaking, I interact with my dolls on a daily basis. Since I have seventeen dolls, I don't interact with every single doll every single day and there are some days when my schedule just does not allow me to interact with any of them on a given day. I don't feel guilty about it, though. I love my dolls - they're some of my favourite possessions - but they are possessions. They don't mind if I don't play with them. That is why dolls are so great. You can enjoy them every day or not, and it makes no difference to them.

    7. I completely agree and hear what you are saying... I guess when I say guilty I mean, I spent so much money on them I SHOULD be doing something with them. I don't think that I will hurt their feelings by not playing with them, I just feel bad because I spent sooo much money on them I should be using them in some way daily.... :)

Hello Cynthiaforever and WELCOME! I am so excited for you that you are getting your first doll! You will fall in LOVE!!!! I think with the money I spend on these guys I should try to use them as often as I can... I think your suggestion is great by starting a blog or doing a photo a day option.... maybe come up with challenges for your photo a day such as Monday out to lunch and Tuesday going to the park blah blah blah.... that might keep it interesting if you come up with cool ways to take pictures. I would love to hear what you come up with and would absolutely follow your blog or photo a day if you decide to start something! I may even participate! :) Again welcome to DoA! We hope you like it here! :)

    8. I wish I could but no, I'm too busy (and when I'm not there's the threat of cats harming her)
I do feel bad leaving her alone for so long but there really isn't much I can do

    9. I don't have time everyday. I wish I did... but I don't. Sometimes I feel bad, but I mean, they're dolls... they don't need it.

Not that my interest has waned either- I continue adding to my collection. But my dolls are a collection. A fun one I play with, bt nor quite as sentimental as some people's dolls.

Even if months go by and I don't have time for them I still enjoy them and I try to sew for them once in a while (I'd like to do that more too) which is always fun.

    10. I may be the only one, but I 'telepathically' talk to them and I think about them a lot but no I don't touch them everyday.
And atm they live in a high place (in my celing tall wardrobe, so that they're safe and away from the sun) and I can't reach because I'm so short so I don't get to see them as often as I'd like, I have to climb on chairs to get them haha

    11. :)yup l move mine around the room and talk them. Yup l'm the crazy obitsu/dollfie dream girl:lol:.

    12. Oh yeah, I play with mine just about everyday, but sometimes when I come home from work, and I'm just too tired, I'll go straight to sleep. Of course, everyday is different, one day, I'll pull them all out and just fiddle with them for hours, and the next, I'll pick one up then instantly put it down and that'll be it. My dolls all sit in their setup on my bedroom floor, so even if I don't go near them, they're one of the first things I see in the morning, and one of the last at night.

    13. I almost always interact with at least one or two each day, but not all of them, since I have 28! But it's not always a big deal. It could be as simple as having one sit by me when I'm online or changing an outfit; or it could be as involved as taking a couple out for pictures and shopping. I don't really feel too guilty if I don't, as I know the dolls can't feel upset over it (and they have each other!) but it feels weird not to, as I'm very involved in the hobby and it's weird to not do what I love daily.

    14. I'll often move Leah around my room throughout the day. Sometimes I'll change her clothing or take pictures of her. I do like seeing and interacting with her. :) She makes me smile even if she's lounging by my record player or sitting in her box. She's just special to me!

    15. I try my very best. Post-grad is eating virtually all my time right now, but I do try and find a few minutes of "dolly time" every day. They make me happy, so it's all part of "trying not to get too stressed" for me.

    16. I try to interact with Elias every day, though recently, I've been so busy moving and getting ready for school that it's been a little hard. He was left all alone at my old house for a while because I couldn't carry him with me to the dorm, and I felt so bad. D: I managed to make an extra trip to retrieve him, though, so I've been trying to make it up to him with extra snuggle time these past couple days. >_>;

    17. I don't interact with mine everyday, but when Shaun is away I miss him.

    18. Lately, and I am sad to say... I havent felt the love for my lovelies lately. :/

      I think I have BJDOwneritis

    19. Pretty much yes! I don't interact with 'everyone' every day! That would be pretty much impossible... but I can't pass a day without interracting with any of my dolls in some sort of form or manner. I often play, redress, repose, sew things for and of course take pictures of them (:

    20. When I first got my doll I kept her in her box whenever I wasn't doing something with her. This made me feel really guilty, so now she sits on my workstation. There isn't any natural light, so she isn't going to get damaged, and I get to look at her pretty face. I like this setup much better then hiding her in her box ^^ I
