Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Do you interact with your dolls on a daily basis?

Jul 24, 2013

    1. I'll admit I do talk to them everyday. Usually just a casual "good morning" as I pass by them. They stay in a corner display during the day but at night I move them to a shelf near my desk c: Unfortunately this shelf is in direct sunlight during the day which is why I move them! I usually just mess around with their poses in between work and fun stuff.

    2. I interact with Clara pretty much everyday. Even if I'm not sewing for her or taking pictures she sits in the living room so she gets moved or said hello to. My cat Bingley has a bromance with her, he walks over nearly every day, gives her a good sniff and then licks the top of her head (never the face he's so clever).

    3. I don't interact with my dolls every day. Sometimes I just don't have the time, and other times I feel like enjoying my other hobbies. There other other times where I just don't feel motivated to work on them. I still love them all the same, and I never feel guilty for letting them sit untouched for a couple weeks (or months). I always come back to them and enjoy working on them and playing with them. My hobbies just need to take turns in order to fit into my busy life :)

    4. No, my obligations to living creatures such as my pets come first, then general things like paying bills, cleaning house, ect. And sometimes I get a little obsessed with finding the perfect wig or new doll that I have to argue with myself to get off the computer and enjoy what I already have. The next doll I really want will come to me when the time is right, so I need to play more and obsess less. Besides, the cats love it when I play with my dolls if I include them in the fun.

    5. Actually sometimes i do interact with my doll, but never do it in a serious way. It's just for fun, as sometimes I even tend to talk to my computer and other stuff, lol xD

    6. The only doll I have right now is my Pukifee and I will always pick her up and tell her she is beautiful and kiss her head before leaving to work.

    7. Absolutely. If I don't interact with my dolls, they will be in bad mood.

    8. I usually give my guys a wave or a nod when I wake up in the morning or when I'm going to bed since they live on a shelf in my room at the moment.

    9. Yes, and no.

I interect with them moost days, even if it's only to move or repose one of them. I often bring a doll or tow in to work with me (2 off-topic dolls today), I sew for them (and have them by the machine for fittings etc.) and pick them up to play with in some way whenever I'm sat near the doll-drift in the livingroom or the doll shelves in the spare bedroom. Some of the tinies (and the littlest bears) have room-sets on my bedside table.

But I don't feel guilty if I don't spend time with them. It happens - If I leave the house early and get back late, so am in too much of a rush to pick up a doll, or I'm in the midst of a full-sized sewing project, or up against a deadline and just don't have time for dolly-play - I feel more guilty if I don't have time to guive the cat some attention (but then he, s the Sheldon Cooper fo the cat world and comes and lets me know I'm neglecting his Right-To-Be-Fussed and I should be On-The-Sofa so he can be properly fussed in His-Spot).

    10. I feel guilty in a way. I know they're just dolls (I would have said different 3+ years ago), but yes, I do feel guilty. I've had mine boxed up waiting for a faceup for a long time. I was planning on sending her to a friend to have her faceup done (which I did not feel confident in doing), but now I feel that if I have her mailed up here to where I am... I think I could manage doing her faceup on my own, with enough patience. Then I would finally be able to use my doll for the soul purpose of buying her: using her as a fashion doll for my designs. Maybe also for photography and artwork. I would like a second doll, but because I have hardly given much attention to my first, I think it would be a waste of money. In conclusion, yes I feel guilty, but for different reasons.

    11. Hm. Sort of? A lot of them are set up in my art studio so they're always...around. My WIP dolls I don't interact with on a daily basis because I'm waiting for parts.

    12. I have my Mian Mian on my bookshelf, and almost everyday I move him, or change his pose, or at least talk to him, even if usually it's only a "good morning" or a "good evening" ^_^' i do the same with all the other dolls in the same bookshelf.
I feel guilty only when my dolls starts to gather dust, or more with boxed and unfinished dolls... I have some customization projects still uncompleted because cronical lack of time and that bothers me a lot, sigh...

    13. I don't interact with them everyday but I do look at them everyday. They are on display in the room I spend most of my time in (it's my sewing room, art room, and computer room, and it used to be my living room too). I'm so used to them being around me, even if I don't handle them or anything.

    14. Short and simple; Yes.

    15. I wish I did... Most nights before bed I'll open the doors to the closet they live in (for now! They'll get real rooms soon!....ish...), admire them for a bit, tell them I love them and say goodnight... When I'm sick or doing homework sometimes I'll take one of them out to sit with me because I just like having them around. I think I'll start playing with them more once they have more clothes and more of them are complete, and especially once I make their rooms! Then I can pose them like they're in a giant dollhouse, ha! Also, I feel like since about half of my dolls are SD or larger, it's just more of a hassle to get them out (not enough of a hassle to make me want only smaller dolls though, I love biggish dolls!) so it might be more likely that I'd play more with a smaller doll, but bigger than my YoSDs 'cause most of them so far don't really like to be bothered... Of course I have trouble bionding with MSDs, but I've only even had two, so I'd like to try one more time...

    16. I try to move my dolls around as much as I can. But lately my dolls have stayed in the same spot, more often then not telling me to PICK THEM UP! lol :sweat

    17. My dolls have been away in there boxes for over a year now but since my daughter asked me to buy her a doll (and i did) they have been out and about. everyday i do something fix her hair change their outfits or pose them in some way.

    18. I interact with some of my dolls on a daily basis (two of my teenies, who get to stay out permanently), but most of them I don't. My largest dolls come out about once a week (I own many, so I spend some time each day with my dolls, just not always the same ones each day), and my MSDs come out a bit more often. I don't feel guilty for not having them out every day, because I have so many dolls they'd completely dominate my living space if I did!

    19. I really really try to. My dolls have to stay in their boxes a lot of the times because I don't have any other safe place to keep them out of the sun. So I try to take them out at least once a day and have a few conversations with them. If I don't it's like this guiltily itch I keep going back to XD

    20. Most days, yes. Even if I don't touch them, I usually sew something for them. I would probably pick them up and hug them a lot more if I didn't live with other people. I know they would find it weird for me to cart my dolls around the house for any reason other than photography (that's weird enough) so I don't do that. I only hold them when I'm alone in my room or when I'm the only one home. Some days all I do is change their position slightly, maybe move their hands or straighten their wig. Other days I actually sit with them and play with them, change their outfits, hug them, kiss the tops of their heads, etc. Not in a weird way just in a "aww, I love my dolly" kind of way.
I'm a bit of a child at heart xD
Also I do this with Molly way more than with my other dolls. There's just something about Molly. I like holding her <3
