1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do you interact with your dolls on a daily basis?

Jul 24, 2013

    1. I do not interact with my dolls on a daily basis, and I don't feel bad about it. I generally keep them stored in cases or their boxes when I'm not dressing or photographing them. Some days I have other things I want to be working on or doing with my time. I don't feel guilty about making simple daily choices about what I'm going to spend my time and effort on~ Otherwise I'd have more stress than I need!

    2. I do have a need to be able to see them when im at home, therefore I have them all sat In living room (in the shadowy part where the sun doesn't get to them) as thats where I mostly am while at home. I dont touch them everyday tho.

    3. I try to!
While their 1/3 scale doll house is in progress, they are all living in my bedroom. So even if I don't physically get to play with/dress them all each day (mainly because I have so many college projects), I still get to see them/talk to them haha.

    4. I take at least a little time everyday to look at my girls, I still have to admire their beauty and cuteness.
I don't have much time to actually play with them but I try to change a little bit of their style every one or two weeks.

    5. Sadly no, as I'm extremely occupied in schoolwork and homework. Interestingly enough, I play with them the most the week prior to my local doll community's monthly doll meet. Amusingly enough, I'm currently playing with them as I type  I think, like everything, I need to be in a certain mood or disposition in order to do. I can spend hours and hours just staring at a sculpt in detail, or extended periods of time just dressing them up; it's just whether or not I have other things to do that's the problem. :sweat

    6. I try to interact with them at least a little bit each day. Even if its just picking them up and giving them a hug.
Though when i stay over at my friend's house i dont get to take them with me. :C
(they are scared of dolls) but when i go back to my dorm i love on them XD

    7. I'll usually do one little thing with at least one of them once a day. Change shoes or wig or clothes, just take them down and look them over. But we're talking two minutes here. Serious get-down doll time happens only every couple of weeks.

    8. Depends on what's meant by interacting. They are displayed all over my house so I'm constantly seeing them, brushing off a bit of dust or picking up something one of the cats knocked awry. As for picking them up, dressing them, etc - not daily, no. I will be sewing a LOT more for them as I'm retiring next week (YAYYYY) so I will be futzing w/them more :D
AND let me just say, why the constant insistance that BJDs are 'just toys' blah blah blah???? They aren't toys (not children's toys - at ALL - the resin is poisonous). Period. They are inanimate human-looking 'prints' of unique sculptures - like some art prints I've framed & put on my walls - only lots more versatile. People do all sorts of things w/them. Also, why would anyone feel like they were being guilt-tripped about interacting (or not) w/their dolls? I mean, I have items that have a LOT of meaning for me packed away & I never see them for months on end (Mom's china for instance). If you want to keep them pristine in their boxes, FINE - who expects you to feel guilty about that? Someone whose opinion isn't worth bothering about, I'm thinking.

    9. I try to interact with them on a daily basis, mostly just to fuss with hair and fix clothing (which is just a few minutes). My real time with them comes a week before dollmeets when I am carefully deciding what they will wear and who is coming.

If it is a new character that I am trying to shell, I will spend a few hours (if I can) for a few days after work till that character has the right eyes, hair, clothing etc and is 'complete'. Then I usually sit them on the Dollmore daybed so I can admire them. XD

    10. Yes, everyday! Before and after I leave work.
Mainly on weekdays, because weekends I am busy.
But I take photos of them all the time!

    11. I don't play with Elvenia as much as I could. It's just that she's so tiny that I'm not sure what to do with her:lol:. Also, I enjoy just looking at things, same goes for Elvenia. She on a shelf above my computer desk, being her cute little self so I see her everyday. I don't feel bad for not interacting with her daily, because she's a doll, not a pet or human. Also, my boyfriend is terrified of her, so I try not to get Elvenia to close to him. I think it'll be different with my incoming DD's. Aside from the fact that they don't scare my boyfriend, they're bigger and more fun to play with than smaller dolls imo. They can sit on your lap without having to be afraid that you'll sit on them or drop them or have them abducted by your cats xD.

    12. I don't get to everyday, but I at least will fix wigs or repose or redress my mini's in my diorama because I love seeing it as soon as I walk into my room. It makes me feel good seeing them all cute, so I like to change it around, especially if I have no time for sewing or photos or anything :x everyone at least gets a hello!

    13. This is so new hobby for me so yes,i have to do somenthing whit them every day :)
Yesterday came new doll home so i made face-up and today i made som new clothers for her:)

    14. I'm quite proud of my doll, I must admit, and as such, I want to take the time to interact with her at least a little everyday, even if it's just changing an outfit or sitting her down close to me while I am working on my computer or whatnot.

    15. I don't pick them up everyday but I do say good morning and goodnight to them

    16. I don't interact with my boy on a daily basis, but I don't feel bad about it as I plan on doing so once he gets a faceup :) I feel like it's hard to bond with him while his face is blank and expressionless. Although he was a wig and outfit, I feel like a faceup is where the character is!

    17. I usually only take them out once every other week or so, unless I get something new for them in the mail ^^; This is a fun hobby, but other things come along that make my dolls not a priority! So no, I don't interact with the twins on a daily basis. :sweat

    18. Lately I've been interacting with them every day. I dont feel guilt if I dont, but I just like to have them around. I love to admire them.

    19. I go through phases myself, sometimes I will have them with me all the time, apart from taking the dog, and other days they'll just be on my dresser for days on end. I find the nicer day it is, the more I want to interact with them, and get pretty pictures of them.

    20. Well lately, I've been sewing like a fiend for them, so I can say that I've definitely interacted with them recently. :) Since most of my dolls sit on the foot of the bed, they watch TV with me and are watching me as I type this.

However, I sometimes have days/weeks when I get busy or just am not feeling well, etc and I don't think to interact with them in any way. Its nice to know that I can not pay attention to my BJDs for long periods of time and then go back to playing with them when I have the time. Its nice to know that until then, they wait patiently for me to come back and play. Its a comforting feeling.
