Do you only like 'anime' style BJDS or more real-life human styled BJDs?

Dec 12, 2010

    1. I'm not picky. I like realistic, in-between, and more exaggerated sculpts. And this is turning into a problem, because I want to shell a much-beloved OC of mine, and I can't decide if I want him to look youthful, mature, anime-like or more realistic in doll form. *_*

    2. Perhaps I like anime styled dolls more than real-life human style. I think that Soom dolls are anime-styled too. Real-life human styled are souldoll, iplehouse, dolshe. Now I'm waiting for dolls from Crobidoll,Dollzone and Loongsoul. I think that they are more "anime-styled" than "real-life human"

    3. I definitely prefer the anime style dolls. So far just Fairyland, really.
But I don't like the actual fully anime heads that are out there. Even Fairyland's.

    4. I like both. I think for girls I like more of the anime style, but for boys I love the realistic style. It really depends on what doll it is and what character its for.

    5. I like real-life style more.

    6. I think anime-style dolls can be cute, but certainly not what I'd go for. I tend to like more realistic-but-still-stylised dolls if that makes sense? So I don't usually jump at things like Iplehouse, but I love Doll Chateau and things like that. But as always there are exceptions to this, as well as certain features that I'd like no matter what the style haha

    7. I prefere a more realistic doll that i can make into the anime visions i love.
It took me forever to find the right sesshomaru but he has been found.
Theres too many beautiful animes out there i love and to find all of them i want would be an eternity.
Het they are all beautiful bjds arent they

    8. I like in between! :) I prefer my doll to look a bit realistic for their body sculpt, head-body proportions, etc but I will be afraid when dolls look too much like human:o I want their eyes a bit bigger (like anime character) than real human because they look cuter and more attractive for me.

    9. human preez

    10. I like both of them. My first doll is a more realistic style. She has a smaller head, compared to other bjds from the same size. I love her faceup, truly the souldoll default face ups are amazing. I do tend to love souldolls realistic dolls over the less realisit ones, but my taste for realistic or not depends on the company. The second and third one are more in between, both from Luts. But I want to buy a more anime styled doll in the future. It is probably going to be a mirai suenaga though, because she can move and I think that's amazing!

    11. I really like the mature ones like crobi dolls and dragon dolls, I also like Island 1/4 which are more adorable and rounded. Luts are hit and miss for me though. Some of them are very beautiful but despite liking anime I don't feel compelled to own them. I also don't like the dolls that appear to have stuck on anime like eyes. I prefer them to seem like they have a soul.

    12. . Personally, Volks/Anime styled dolls do not appeal to me in any way. I definitely would prefer my dolls looking more like a real person vs looking like a cartoon. :)

    13. i think the anime style heads can be really cute but i do like the more realistic kind. mostly cause the anime ones also seem, unbalanced to me. i guess cause the bodies normally are proportional to normal humans and not the proportions of people in animes.

they may have this out there, i'm not sure but it'd like them better if there legs were longer and there torso made more tiny.

    14. I like anime-style heads ... but the more realistic kind since there are some that are out right anime with the big eyes and stuff. But I also like some dolls from soul doll, especially those that aren't symmetrical ... like Bonnie who has asymmetrical lips =)

    15. I generally like more 'cartoony' dolls, but for some reason the Dollfie Dream dolls and dolls with similar heads look weird to me. I have a few anime figurines and I like how they look, the flat even for anime faces paired with real clothing and realistic hair are offputting for me.

    16. I like both the anime style and the realistic style because they are both beautiful. Depending on what character I am making such as if I'm basing the doll off an anime character I will usually go with the anime styled doll. Except one of the dolls I have is based off an anime character but he is more realistic looking because his character is quite manly. So the cute and soft faced anime styled doll wouldn't work for him.

    17. I prefer more realistic dolls. I'm not really into anime style for BJD (and only BJD, because I also have Hujoos that are anime style and I love them xD), but if when I look at pictures of a doll I find too much "manga-like" I usually don't like it at all... In general, even if they are a few exeptions, I don't really like Volk's dolls for this reason.

    18. I am not sure whether lati, volks, CP's dolls are considered as realistic or anime styled. I guess it's in between. However I do know that DD is not my cup of tea.

    19. I love all the styles.
      Just not every doll.

    20. I used to only really like real life looking dolls, but lately I'm in an anime faze. I drool at the Dollfie Dreams online frequently. They're pricey, but soooo pretty. If I had millions...my house would be very odd to a stranger :)
