Do you only like 'anime' style BJDS or more real-life human styled BJDs?

Dec 12, 2010

    1. I do prefer dolls being on the realistic side. I love bjds on their own unique way. Others would prefer those that have anime eyes but each to his own.

    2. Anime style for me! They are so cute and I love the eyes! That is what made me so intrigued by these doll.

    3. Hmm. This is a hard question! I like anime style but I also like realistic styled. I think I'd want a variety of both styles~

    4. I definitely prefer the more realistic styles. Ever since I knew how to draw, my characters have had small eyes and I was forever perfecting my human-ratio gauge. So when I discovered BJDs, I looked all over for realistic looking sculpts and discovering Iplehouse, Soom and Spiritdoll made me really happy. Not so happy for my wallet though...coz these things are expensive!!

    5. I prefer a more real life look since the characters I have in mind for the dolls are from a grittier story. I also think they look cooler, but that is my own opinion. The anime dolls are cool too, but I just prefer a more realistic sculpt.

    6. I have some dolls of realistic side and anime side both. they are pretty difference and they has their own beauty. I can't choose only one. :)

    7. All of mine are on the realistic side, a few have larger eyes than a normal human but they are not anime at all.

    8. I prefer the realistic dolls, but I've seen some really cute anime.

I love anime and I like my anime boys to be a more realistic looking...like sesshomaru...man it was hard finding a perfect realistic face for him and with elf ears too..soooo hard but here he is...im just afraid to put his demon red eyeliner and fucia cheek marks on because not even the original artist could copy ths perfect faceup again...love it.

    10. I love anime and manga but when it comes to dolls I like the more realistic. I like the sculpting as it is so much more detailed than the typical anime style face. Even if I wanted to do a favorite anime character I would choose a more realistic sculpt to do my version.
YOUKAIMOON your Seshy is wonderful. I would love to see him when you do his demon markings :)

    11. Between anime and realistically looking dolls I love both. They each have their features that make them beautiful. Anime looking bjds are extremely adorable and are more on the cutesy side while realistically looking bjds look extremely beautiful and elegant. Currently I own only realistic looking bjd but I would love to add some anime style bjds to my collection. :)

    12. final fantasy style considered anime or rl? xD

    13. Stylized realism? Can that be a thing? XD I definitely tend toward the more stylized sculpts, but without venturing too far into full-blown shoujo anime-land. Even my more realistic guys are a bit stylized.

    14. I wish someone made more of a japanese boy face..a little more mature like mid 20s.
I want to make a beautiful realistic anime boy from a actual japanese style face.
I know DIM makes head sculpts for you but the heads are too big..to bobble headed ..hard to find a body...I like...to go with those big heads.
but I love anime dolls and realistic...

    15. I like the anime styles but i totally prefer the realistic ones!

    16. I like anime styled dolls. Their big eyes and cute nose are so adorable. But I have quite strict standards for sculpture, so It's hard to say that there are many kinds of dolls I'd like to buy. What a sad thing it is.

    17. I like both styles to be honest, but the ones I own and choose to buy tend to be more realistic. :whee:

    18. I used to only want realistic dolls, but then I got a DD and fell in love with her. I'll probably get more anime style ones at some point, but I still love my realies

    19. Ahh gosh, I really do tend to a more stylized doll. My sister prefers realistic sculpts which I find interesting. I just really like the proportions of a cutesy doll but full blown anime isn't something I'm sure I'd love? I like a mix that leans on stylization I guess. If a doll is too realistic for me I feel like it can get a little freaky. That's not to say that a realistic doll can't be beautiful and amazing! Just not my cup of tea tbh.

    20. I used to look at Dolfie dream dolls as "what on earth is this??" :? when I saw one for the first time. I thought they were so stupid and ridiculous compared to the "real" bjds.
However, gradually I've become to like them a lot and all my foolish judgment disappeared. Now I really consider buying one. They wouldn't match my other dolls at all, but I guess the DD would be just separately for photography etc.
