Do you only like 'anime' style BJDS or more real-life human styled BJDs?

Dec 12, 2010

    1. I like the realistic sculpts because it amazes me just how realistic these companies can make them -- Although I do like some anime styled sculpts as long as they don't go too far. Many i've seen are so stylized, they look deformed, which is not attractive at all...

    2. I think I like a mix between anime and realistic. I think CP's Chiwoo's eyes are too big and mouth and nose are barely there. But there are other CP dolls that I adore. So yeah, a mix.

    3. I like Anime Style, but it should have a touch of reality.
I totally love boys, looking like bishounen. (Really long hair, a bit feminine face, long legs and so on...<3) But they should have a touch of reality. For example not oversized eyes or to extreme facial features.

Beside that, fantasy style is also one of my favourite style. For example, elf ears or sharp eyes who look like dragon eyes. :D

It's the mixture that matters for me. :)

    4. I like more realistic sculpted dolls.:aheartbea

    5. I really like both. ^^ I love all the details and work that goes into the more realistic sculpts, but I also love the cuteness of the most "anime-like" ones. And, I like the ones in between. I mean....maybe it's just me, but all these dolls are really lovely pieces of art to me and I love them all. :sweat

The only thing that determines which one I would actually /purchase/ is which doll I fall for first. *laughs*

    6. I really like them BOTH! I really admire realistic BDJs, but for my personall collection I like anime style the best. It's just more "me". XD

    7. I'm a little weird. I love the WAY anime style of Dollfie Dreams, and I love quite a few of the more realistic dolls released by Iplehouse and Soom, but ones in between just don't do it for me, like old school Volks for instance. It's like they feel indecisive to me or something. "I'm real! No I'm not! I don't know WHAT I am!" I like the extremes of the spectrum, but the middle I avoid for the most part. Once I start adding actual resin dolls to the family, my collection is going to look SO strange. XD

    8. I'd have to say I lean towards the slightly anime looking sculpts. Of course there is my very realistic Johnny Depp minimee, but even he's done up as the Mad Hatter character...which certainly has an anime edge to it. I didn't deliberately set out to collect this way, but it's obviously what makes me happy so I just go with it.:)

    9. I think i prefer a more human like bjd than a anime version of it. Maybe because the anime looking bjd just look like they are cosplay outfit 24/7 if you get what i mean...heh

That or maybe I am just not used to the anime looking bjd yet being still very new to bjd and the community. Maybe one day I might decide on getting one myself..who knows xD

    10. Personally I really dislike both extremes rather something in the middle is my style.

    11. The more they look like real people the more I like them.

    12. My impossible dream is any doll from Kinoko Juice, the new one Jill is breaking my heart! I love Kinoko's chibi proportions! But they don't sell dolls outside Japan :atremblin :...(

    13. I'd say I like somewhere in the middle. I don't want them too realistic or too anime-ish. I don't really like either extreme..

    14. My preference is somewhere in the middle, I think. I really like for my dolls to look more like older teen or adult anime characters, which typically have more realistically proportioned facial features than anime kids do. But mostly, I just look for a doll that I think will fit my character.

    15. I like the middle ground, though some of my dolls do favor more one side than the other.

    16. Just realistic sculpts - no doubt!

    17. I'm kind of on the mid-grounds, also. Although I do like them both, and my dolls are a bit of a mixture. ^.^

    18. I think I'm more for realistic. Only the LittleFee Luna I bought has big, more anime-like eyes. The dolls I tend to go for have smaller more realistic eyes (not saying that all anime characters have big eyes). It's actually every feature, I much prefer them to be realistic. I think if I wanted a more anime like doll, I'd actually get one based on a character like the Sebastian Fairyland Japan has.

I don't dislike anime style BJDs, but I prefer real-life human styled BJDs:D

    19. Realistic is more my style though I have a weak spot for Anthros (Pipos especially!). No offense meant for anyone but I definitely don't want any anime-styled BJD at this point in time. Something about them is slightly 'off' to me :sweat

Hence why only a few companies own my wallet, LOL.

    20. i like both the realistic and the more anime like. and them in between :)
