1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do you Pair your doll’s ?

May 28, 2013

    1. I do. Actually, several of them are part of one family. So it's not a pairing, per say. I do have one lone wolf but I'm working on getting him his partner. But it's slow going.

    2. I like dolls in groups, in their own families. So I usually buy not alone doll, but pairs or even families, friends and so on. I think, it loooks better, more lifelike, and more interesting for me.

    3. My romantic pairs definitely do not go by size (I have a yoSD/SD pair) but I would prefer to have 2 or more of each size rather than a lone doll being solo in their size category. I'm waiting on two more tiny dolls right now to join my current tiny crank pot. :)

    4. I totally understand. I would like to pair my doll with another one of the same size, too. I mean even if I'm not going to make them a couple I would want them to have a friend about their same size.

    5. I have this too, with all my dolls.
One of the reasons why some dolls had to go was because I couldn't find a suitable partner for them OR they didn't "belong" to anybody here.
Everybody needs at least a friend, enemy, sister/brother or whatever, someone they can interact with.
I don't know WHY I have this, but I guess it's because of dynamic and photo reasons...and because nobody should be alone :XD:

I also have this with my non-resin dolls who don't have characters, gladly here my girlfriend usually buys the other doll to make it two.

    6. I always worry about them feeling left out or lonely even though they're not alive. I try to make sure that they at least have a pet.

    7. i've tried to pair them....i failed XD
i prefer to create the individual character to my doll....and not to force a background story in which A is B's lover or C is D's lil brother... i cant create a scenario like that :sigh

    8. I don't do it. But as long as you're happy/don't suffer adverse consequences of pairing your dolls, then you don't need to "stop" until you want to.

    9. I guess I kind of feel like they will be lonely if I just have one of that size.

In any case, even when I have multiple dolls of the same size and from the same company, they still split up into pairs, kind of like "besties".

But then I have an issue whereby whenever I sell one, the other will eventually go as well.

    10. no, I never thought about pairing my dolls by gender/size/style/anything else. The dolls I have on my wishlist are not paired in any way

...but after reading through this thread I feel like if/when I get the MSD I want that I'll need to get another eventually to be her friend :sweat

    11. I've been thinking about this lately... it bugs me that my SD doll and my Zaoll doll don't have companions that are the same size. It isn't even that I want them to have friends, it's just that I think they would look nicer if I could display them with other dolls of the same type/size.

I've also been thinking of getting another JID (not for pairing purposes, just because I love JIDs) but then that would mean my Minisup would be the odd one out as well, because even though she's a similar height to JID she's way slimmer. At the moment she is paired with my JID Tania, but if I had two JIDs the difference in size between them and her would be more apparent. I would then feel the need to get another Minisup or other slim mini to pair with my current Minisup so she wouldn't be the odd one out.

I don't know why this bothers me so much, but strangely it does.

    12. hmm not necessarily paired... more grouped, though some 'characters' are couples and thus paired... or sometimes my doll groups are composed of just 2. I group them because I like to over think thier stories behind them I supose. And I never have a lonly doll, except when I had my first doll... she was a lonly msd for a while as I got lots of tinies. And even then once I got my 2nd msd sized dolls, they wern't paired at all. It wasn't until I got my 3rd msd sized doll that my 1st bjd got paired, although she is technically paired with another through story who is only 16cm xD And dolls I have that arn't paired through story have the other dolls who arn't paired through story to keep them company xD Although it doesn't nesesarily have o be size or gender that pair my dolls, its story or being a loner xD

    13. Odd question but: if when looking for a pair to one of your dolls would you consider selling that doll of you couldn't find them a match? (not twins but you know what I mean)

    14. I like doing this, having dolls in pairs, not in size but more in style of sculpt and colour scheme and customizing. But I also have one doll, my Zaoll Muse, that just doesn't seem to fit with any other doll, whenever I get another doll to be a pair with him, they end up being more like a accessory to him, haha! I even tried a Zaoll Luv, but that didn't work either, so it's not the size or the sculpt style. Perhaps his ego is too big to be paired with any other doll ;) So now I just have him be on his own, and all my others are in pairs. It doesn't bother me.
