1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    1. Definitely short. Two months would be my absolute maximum as I try to have everything paid in full, or at least split within two payments within 30 days of one another. When it comes to ordering something that's such a high amount, I tend to get very paranoid about the entire transaction until the doll is in my hands. Faulty communication, lost payments, and the overall feeling that I owe someone money is stressful. I tend to obsess about money and payments, and unless I knew the seller personally and extremely well, I wouldn't stretch it out any longer than I would absolutely have to.

    2. I think I prefer longer because you don't feel as pressured to get the funds for it as quickly. This is especially helpful when you don't have a job and need extra time to save money (*cough*me*cough) xD. So, I would prefer a longer layaway so that I have enough time to save up money. And what's nice about longer layaways is, if you come up with the money sooner than you expected, you can still have it paid quicker than you expected without having to worry about the payment deadline!

    3. I like long or extra long layaways. There is a budget for me for spending on myself per month and I try very hard not to break that. Most of my extra money goes to my family, or to other people who need it, programs on our res.

    4. I like to stick with a long layaway plan since you can even out your expenses well. If something unexpected comes your way, then you'll still be okay and not in a rut.

    5. Depends on the situation. I took a long layaway for a Dollzone/Doll Chateau combo order because I know their wait time is long. It had little to do with money and more to do with 'I know I'll be waiting anyhow, why not spread out the payments?'. It's a psychological thing for me. If I'm still paying for it, I don't notice the wait.

Other companies, with quicker turn around times? I'll pay in one or two installments.
