I like elves and fairies and larger-sized dolls... so I'm definitely a fan of the mature tinies! I've got two Bambicronies (slimmer than most! but still cute!!!) and am getting a Bracken. None of them look anything like Barbies! --although, I don't happen to mind Barbies or obitsus or dollfies, personally!
I like child-like tinies best, for myself, because I want them to be proportional to larger, more mature looking dolls. Also, if I wanted mature tinies, I would just make them. In fact, I have parts of them sculpted and lying around my room. I have a lot more problems when it comes to drawing and sculpting a child's body because it's so oddly shaped, to my eyes. All the same, I love the cute outfits you can force child dolls, especially little girls, into without the protest that real children will give you, or the destruction of said clothes by enthusiastic playing in the dirt and mud. If I ever have real children, they wont have to bear the brunt of my desire to match and co-ordinate, because my dolls will always be the most co-operative victims, and I don't feel bad about dressing them how I like. With kids, I'd want to take their preferences into consideration, because I remember how picky about the way clothing felt I was as a kid.
I love the childlike tinies!! Ive been bitten by the Bambicrony bug and my little girls are the cutest things I've ever seen. I love their cute little faces!
To me, my heart is sold to childlike tinies. I even plan on getting a few more in the future if I can afford them. Just something about them are way to cute for me! However mature can be just as great, just none other then Banji's have ever pulled my heart strings.
I prefer the childlike ones, but love my mature tinies, too! I think the younger ones appeal to the "mommy" in me ... and since I am mother to a one-and-only living doll, the little resin kids pull my heartstrings more than the mature ones do. I think I was supposed to have many children, but since I have just one, all the more reason to have many dolls! Sabrina
I like my tinies to be childlike. Even if the characters they portray are a lot older. I'm turning my smallest pair into fairies as I just love the innocence in their faces.
Right now, a little Yoko pocketfairy lives with me, having an outfit made for her. She is so adorable, she makes me smile just to look at her. But, I've seen some pictures of other tiny dolls that look like fairies, and I have always LOVED fairies. So I'm sure one will be coming to stay that I can make wings for. I guess this makes me 50/50 on the tinies. i'm still trying to get little pocketfairy to tell me her *real* name...
Mature ones, because I have a thing for fashion dolls, and the 1/6 mature tinies just embody everything I love in both fashion dolls and BJD's. The perfect mix!
I prefer more mature - never a huge collector of the younger dolls. Same with my paper dolls, lol! I do like some of the more innocent or sweet-looking mature dolls, though. A non-BJD comes to mind - Momoko!
mature.. because they are usually more realistic big headed tiny child dolls are not my thing. prob just me, but they remind me of procelain doll. the ones with weirdest face and obese all over..not even pudgy cuteness.. some child like tinies are really nice, like pukis and others (who escapes my mind atm) yah... bringing back an old thread anyone seen those new hand fairies? 16cm!! can't wait till more pics come~
My oldest tiny is 13 years old...most of the Puki don't really have an age and are eternally children. My moona was supposed to be 15 but we're not bonding...but when I had an MSD she was 15. I don't like having dolls that are older than I am!!!!
I prefer childlike dolls generally (with one or two exceptions for adult-style clothes and costumes) and tinies are no exception. Besides which, there are so many irresistible child outfits for the Kish Riley and Bitty Bethany dolls from Boneka (and a few other sources) that fit Petites and 8 inch tinies that it's hard to not buy childlike BJD's to wear them.
