1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do you store things in your BJD's head?

Nov 5, 2013

    1. Yep. That's how I did Al's little black d10, too. It's held in place by a little piece of the silicone I use as eye-putty. That keeps it from making noise or getting scratched up by his metal s-hook. I was more worried about that than I was about the die itself harming Al's urethane eyes or his resin. It's smooth and has slightly rounded edges.

    2. wow I never would have thought to store anything in their heads before now - I love this idea though! Ideally put in a bag so it doesn't get tangled up or scratched etc. It's such a nice idea to have something personal to them in their head I think :)

    3. I had store eyes in my dolls' head. Not eyes that stick with putty and be at the eye holes, I mean when I did the face up it usually put eyes in dolls' head when I keep it, cuz I had to move from my home to dorm and from my dorm to home and this is the easiest way to carried dolls' heads and eyes with me

    4. :doh That reminds me, I also have one of Ryuichi's fingers stuck in silicon "eye putty" inside of his headcap from when he fell and broke two fingers off, one being his middle finger. I never found the ring finger, but guess which finger I DID find!

    5. Each of my dolls has a small iconographic tag in their head, with a symbol that 'represents' them to me. I have similar tags to mark their doll cushions (so I can tell where everyone is without opening all the bags), and stickers to mark their wigs and outfits. The tag inside their head is really just an emotional thing for me - it puts me in mind of golems, given power and character by their makers words.

    6. Since I consider dolls to be valuable, collectible objects, I wouldn't really ever see them as "storage" items. I find this kind of disrespectful (basing on how I perceive dolls). >0<
But I can see how the idea behind "thoughts" or doll's personal props works among people who embody their OCs through dolls. :)

    7. Seconding Asatee! I also consider them valuable and wouldn't think of using their heads for storage ^^; But the idea of scents is lovely! I'd love for my dolls to have their own personal scents (❁´‿`❁)*✲ﾟ*

    8. Putting your address inside the head is ingenious! I never thought to do that but now I totally will. That would make me feel much safer about taking them to conventions.

    9. I love the idea of storing things in my doll's heads...I also remember someone saying they wanted to make their doll a tiny sculpey brain to put in his head. XD

    10. I have one particular doll that came with custom glasses, which I store inside her head. They don't fit any of my other dolls so I just store them there when not in use.

    11. I didn't store things inside my dolls, but I might do it now, because I just love the idea of the tiny objects or pictures inside a doll's head.

    12. Nope, I don't store things in their heads. Once their wigs are on and I like how it looks, I don't like to mess with it so it wouldn't be very convenient for me :)

    13. I have never stored anything in my dolls heads, but it sounds like an amazing idea! It would be a great place to store spare eyes or hands etc?

    14. I store a piece of Magic Eraser, little extra eye putty, a coil of wire (for restringing on the go), and a few safety pins. I love the idea of putting pictures in there of whatever is 'on their mind'

    15. I've never thought of doing this. I love Hatsya's idea, it's really cute! I think it could be fun storing itty bitty things related to their personality... like a little ice cream if the doll really likes sweets. It's silly idea but really cute.

    16. No, I don't, I am two worried that it will hit the hook and my doll head will pop off for random reason. And stuff getting tangle up to the point I have to cut a string :o. So no, they have tiny bags that they can carry around. lolz

    17. I keep parts of Obitsu neck pieces in one Obitsu head that I'm not using.

    18. I plan to put a small slip of paper with my name, phone number, address and email address, just a bunch of contact info just in case something crazy happens and my doll is somehow separated from me and gets lost. So I'd be hoping whoever might find him might take a peek in his head.
I'd also put similar slips of paper with such information in pockets or shoes or socks or something in places more easily accessible since may be the person who finds him may not think to take off a wig and open the head cap.
However, I don't plan on ever letting my doll out of my sight if I happen to bring him along somewhere.

I like the idea of photos,or even things to incorporate with their character. Or maybe a tiny brain! That'd be hilarious!

    19. Although the thread's title took me by surprise at first, I start thinking along the same lines as MonochromeAgent. I am going to have my contact info in there. I worry about my cell and pedometer like that. A doll has a ready space to carry that info. Although if my doll goes missing, I don't think I would have lost her; rather she was probably stolen. And a thief wouldn't care to return her them anyway.

    20. Hahaha yes i did for some time, i remember there were eyelashes and a couple of s-hooks... It's a good place to store little things for them to not to get lost. Good idea.
