1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do you store things in your BJD's head?

Nov 5, 2013

    1. This is intriguing, can I see a pic, anyone? Just sounds so, fascinating..

    2. After reading the thread about bugs getting into dolls' heads, I can't help but cringe at this topic, though it wouldn't be a bad idea to keep some sort of special object in there to represent his/her character

    3. What kind of bugs, got into the dolls heads? Wow..don't cringe, it's still fascinating :-)

    4. I've never thought about it, but putting pictures and tags with your information on it in the case that your doll is stolen/lost is a brilliant idea.

I'm also kind of toying with the idea of sticking a brain in there too. (Like... a sculpted brain that would fit over the S-hook. That would keep me laughing maniacally for a century.) :abambi:

    5. It was another thread where someone was talking about a possible bug infestation in their apartment building, and another person was telling a story of when a whole bunch of ants got into their doll's head during an outdoor photoshoot. I would be so upset and scared, as though my doll were violated in some way haha :'(

    6. Sure thing! This is the inside of Ryuichi's head. the square thing is a dog tag with his name on it. :)

    7. @ourtangled bones, thanks for the reply...ok I concur bug infestation would have me upset also.
As for ants, I'm from the islands, I've had ants ruin, many a lovely sunday dinner..on the positive side, the owner could take pics, and dress his doll like a zombie, shoot a video...ok getting carried away :-)

@ryu..very nice!, thank you for posting a pic, what some people find as mundane, always interests me...when I get my boy dolly, maybe I will write him some love letters, and store them in his head, as well..you know..to remind him that he loves me:love

    8. When I moved with my doll I stored a few small valuables in her head, but as soon as she was sat in place and everything was unpacked I took it right out. I also had the small metal Doll Love plate stored in her head when it fell off her headcap, but I've since removed, and lost that. :/

    9. Yet another thing that can be kept inside of your dolls head, their headplate! But be sure to put them in a small ziplock baggie, you don't want it or anything rattling around doing damage.

    10. I wasn't a fan of the eye putty that was sent with my doll (it's the Faber-Castell putty with the greenish hue) because I could see it in the corner of his eyes so I switched it out with some translucent polymer clay until a more neutral-coloured eye putty arrives. I didn't want to toss the original stuff though, since it is significantly stickier than the clay and makes for a good back-up, so I stored it in his head for safe keeping. :)

    11. I actually placed a sticker inside their heads to mark my own lovelies.

    12. I really like the idea of putting small objects in my dolls' heads to suit their character, or even a brief character summary to encourage them to 'be' their character. Personal identification in case of loss or theft is definitely something I want to do.

The most I have stored in a doll's head is an extra pair of eyes while on the go, or when my friend's MSD broke a finger, I stuck it there in her eye putty so it wouldn't get lost. Sitting back and looking at it, though, it made me laugh--a creepy finger poking out of her mushy 'brains' between her eyes... like something out of a horror film.

    13. I did something similar when Ryuichi fell and broke three of his fingers on his former non-jointed hands. I managed to find his middle finger, so I took a piece of silicon eye putty ear plug stuff and put it in his headcap. Its still there!

    14. I never thought of putting/storing something in my Doll's head, but reading all your stories, it really sounds very sweet (and in some cases useful or even funny). I might consider copying one of these ideas, though I'm not sure yet what I'd like to put there :p

    15. I might put a small bit of lavender in my SD girl's head when I am able to get her. I have a few cedar chips in my boy's body to make him smell nice, but nothing in his head... he has a giant c-hook which is great for when I take his head off to change clothes, but it takes up a lot of head space.

    16. A Soom Idealian has brains in its head. Its quite funny actually and awesome and I saw one person blush it to look realistic...that was crazy. Pics are all over the place if you google it.

As for the topic-not usually but my Dreaming Doll Airi has her Dreaming Doll plate in her head since it came unglued and I didnt want it to get lost. She is the only one and everytime i pick her up, I go "whats in your head girl?" Cause I forget...lol.

    17. Presently koda is in need of fresh eye putty, but i decided to just let his eyes rattle around in his head fro a bit. i've also stored wig caps,S-hooks or small joint pieces before. I've found it rather useful :) but danika (my yosd) is much to small for me to fit anything beside her eyes and S-hook in her head.

Also koda has a dog tag but its around his neck because a majority of (non-bjd related) people don't realized that the dolls wig caps can come off let alone that their heads can open. needless to say it's still a good idea to have some kinda of name tag type thing with your dollies just incase.
I heard of a girl once who accidentally left a trunk full of bjds behind on the bus and never saw them again O.e

    18. That's a nifty concept, I like it :-)

    19. It is very romantic, love this idea so much :D

    20. I've never stored anything in my doll's head but that might be interesting
