1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do you Talk to your Dolls or Do you not Talk to your dolls?

Mar 28, 2013

    1. magkelly: I have a friend who collects fashion dolls - she has 29 and is expecting 6 more. Anyway, she kisses her dolls as well, and it seems I have picked up the habit too. I talk to everything: from the ivacs at work to my dogs.

    2. I talk to the animals, and sometimes even with technics. Why can not I talk to the dolls? Yes, I do it! : D

    3. When I'm alone there is hardly anything I wouldn't talk to ( ~o A o)~
Well it's mostly in the lane of 'Oh hey there wall, I almost didn't see you' when I'm about to crash, etc, but I do occasionally enjoy pretending the character of my dolls talk back to me so I'll 'carry a conversation' with them.

    4. I talk to my dolls all the time XD Of course. My mom makes fun of me but she talks to her dogs like they can answer her so its no big deal to me. ^^
I try not to talk to them in public if I have them with me but I totally have full on conversations with them in my room hahaha

      .... I promise I'm not crazy.... >.> <.< >.>

    5. Usually not out loud, but I do have conversations with them that take place entirely in my head..... although sometimes I end up yelling "No, don't fall over!" or something at them out loud. :sweat

    6. I talk to them--although, I usually say off-hand comments to them over things like asking questions. Though, I have a tendency to talk to everything :P

    7. I talk to my dolls, my horse and even to my cars sometimes. If they don´t answer than is everything perfect fine, when they start to talk with you either, than you need help. :-)

    8. I talk to my dolls and to all random stuff at times. It's a sort of stress release.

Instead of talking to someone who might be hurt or affected on what I'm gonna say, I'm just going to say it to someTHING else (avoiding conflict)

I also talk to by dolls especially when I want to characterize them in some sort.

    9. I talk to my doll all the time. Of course he doesn't talk back, that'd be cool though, but I've got a feel for his personality so it never feels like I'm talking AT him.

    10. I'm pretty sure I didn't talk to dolls when I was little but every now and then I talk to Nadeko.
I also talk to other random things that I know won't reply like my laptop.

    11. I talk to my dolls often...every once in a while when I'm feeling down or just o have a good conversation ouo. Most of my friends say it makes sense that I talk to my dolls, considering I get bored and to freak out my teachers I have conversations with myself in class when they tell me to work with a partner XD. But I would say talk to your dolls if it makes you happy it shouldn't matter what other people think

    12. I sometimes talk to my dolls, but not much differently than I do with my dog :P Sometimes I speak really loudly to them too, but thats only to freak my sister out xD (She's 18)

    13. I have the habit of talking to almost everything, from my laptop, to the tv, my cat or my doll.
There is nothing wrong with it unless you start hearing their replies xD

    14. I talk to my dolls and other inanimate objects. It's more of a thinking out loud thing than a deep heart to heart discussion. I used to tell people I have a dog so that I can talk to myself at home and not look crazy. If you like to talk to yourself in public, have a baby. Then you look like an attentive mother and not a nutcase talking to the cereal in the grocery store.

    15. I don't talk with my dolls. I just admire them and I create them an image.

    16. I'm sorry for your negative experience. I'm much luckier than you cuz evry body regard its quiet normal to talk to a dog, cat or even a doll. How could a dog or a cat get your message without talking to them? I even let my dolls greet my friends so they can join my pleasure with my doll. and sometimes they do reply. So, just talk for fun, if you like it, you do it. talk to a doll or a cat will not hurt anybody~

    17. I grew up in a family with a lot of pets (i.e. birds, dogs, cats and rats) and it was pretty normal for us to talk to them. Especially to the cats and dogs, I swear they understand every single word you say!! :ablink:

Talking to my dolls is a little bit different, because they don't react like my pets. But anyhow I talk to them sometimes. Mostly, like others said before, something like "Let's put on your new clothes, i'm sure they'll fit you perfect" etc. :sweat

    18. Dolls, pets, electronics, my car, I talk to just about every inanimate object I interact with on a regular basis. Everything usually gets a name too! :sweat

    19. I talk to (well, "talk at" is probably more accurate) pretty much everything. My dolls, my computer, my PDA, the stove, the microwave...*everything*. Not much is safe from my babbling. I was even muttering at the keyboard just a bit earlier. (My K key decided to quit working for about ten minutes for no apparent reason.) I of course realise that none of the above inanimate objects can either hear me or respond, I just seem to have a chronic inability to NOT talk at things, especially if they aren't doing what I want them to. It's definitely a thinking out loud/venting frustration thing for me most of the time. The dolls aren't actually alive, so there's no conversation to be had, just me complaining at them. >.<

    20. It's kind of complicated for me to explain (as I'm french, some lack of vocabulary). I don't talk directly to them, but I do talk to them in my head, you see ? I can imagine dialogs in my head, where they answer me... Yeah, I'm crazy. A part from that, I talk to my cat because he can react (he also like to talk to me, even if I don't understand a sound) and to everything that doesn't work at the moment I need it :)
