1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do you value a BJD more if it is hard to get?

    1. Ahahah, this is rather how I feel. If I had to jump through hoops to get the doll, I would probably just give up on it and move on to something that's a great deal simpler. :3

I don't have any problems with going after a limited edition doll if the timing worked out well for me, financially. However, if I missed the doll when it was first available, I probably wouldn't pursue it on the second-hand market unless I managed to find one for around the original price.

I can see where some people are into the excitement of managing to get a doll, but for me, I would think I would be bored of the doll once I actually had it if that's all I cared for. XD No, for me, it's about the having. Therefore I care more about the sculpt and appearance, while leaning in favour of something that's more reasonable to acquire.

    2. - - all these limited... ... man!

    3. Personal value, I'd say no. It's just the doll you like whether or not if it's limited or not.
Financial value, people will pay more for limited items in general.

Personally, I get dolls because I like them, not because I'm thinking resale value. Or that they are limited XD I think the dolls I like are attainable. I like to look at the limited ones because they are pretty <3 But I don't need to buy them.
