1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do your dolls share clothes or ...?

Oct 21, 2021

    1. Do your dolls share clothing or do you prefer each doll to have their own sets or have a particular style.

      Just a general discussion/curiosity.

For me, my 1/4 girls swap clothing even though they do have their own style. I can't help but just sort of swap around outfits. I do this for a couple of reasons:

1.) It's neat to see them in a different style than I imagined
2.) Clothes can be expensive for multiple dolls xD

    2. I have my dolls that are in similar styles share a particular style of clothes:) ikr, clothes are quite expensive, especially if you're into different sizes of dolls like I do...

    3. I have clothes that are character specific, and I have pieces that are worn by everyone who fits into them. The latter are usually basics (black pants for example)

    4. I feel you. My two SD - their clothes are quite pricey... and better then my clothes xD

    5. Technically, all my clothes go on whoever fits them but each doll definitely has a different style. So, while two different dolls might wear the same shirt, it’s usually styled differently to match them with different accessories.
I also am a clothes maniac and love to get or make new outfits so I have quite a bit

    6. None of my dolls have character specific clothes or anything like that. So if they fit in the clothes, they wear the clothes. I wasn't very smart in planning and ended up buying like 5 different sizes of dolls but that's my only limit. Sometimes I can fit my DDS in mini clothes though and sometimes my Unoa in Yo-sized clothes and that's fun when it happens.

    7. Mine a all around the same size so they can share stuff but it’s mostly limited to jeans, tees, and sneakers…so Dorrie gets all the black boots and other gothy bobs and bits all to herself :sneaky Also Penn doesn’t wear pants or the color black but they can all wear the same tank top so it’s all good.

    8. I have a few dolls with "official" outfits that I designed for their character, but most of the others will share stuff at time. Usually certain characters will have a theme or a color that they keep, but any clothing article that falls into that category is fair game. All of my dolls except for one (plus a couple on the way) are minifee or MSD sized, so pretty much everything fits everyone else. My single mature tiny hogs all of the extra Rainbow High stuff (although I'm hoping he'll share with my Dream Valley Greyson and Izzy when they arrive).

    9. All my similarly sized dolls share. Sometimes it doesn't work out so well, but I love dress up time!

    10. That's a good way to put it. Most of my dolls have at least one "default" or official outfit haha that is theirs. I recently discovered rainbow high clothes fit the Super slim 1/6 doll chateau so that has been very cute.

    11. Me too it's my favorite : )

    12. Yes, I like to do that too, even though they are sharing clothes you can make new outfits with them with the right accessories. For some reason, I've gone crazy buying eyeballs when I should be buying clothes... I have so many eye pairs and not even close to the number of dolls to wear them xD

    13. Hm, I generally purchase clothing for specific dolls but I will also borrow pieces from other wardrobes if the piece fits something I am looking for in a new outfit for anyone else. And that is certainly more the case if the dolls live in the same "world" as each other. So Yuuri will often steal Victor's sweaters. Lol.

Hilariously, Victor has been super hard to shop for (getting a bit better now) due to his size, but his clothes get stolen the most by my other dolls. :doh

    14. Everything’s in a community pile except for one girl’s clothes. But that’s because of body shape, not personal preference. If it fits and looks good, it’s fair game.

    15. Some of each, over here...

I have a few dolls who have very specific outfits of their own that no one else ever wears, and I have a pretty extensive collection of "shared wardrobe" outfits and individual pieces that may end up on anyone they'll fit.

    16. Like many others here, some of my dolls have their own set outfit but then I have a pile of general clothes in their sizes that anyone can wear. The 'any doll' clothes are mostly comfy casual items in neutral tones that look good on anyone. But I also have a few ooak outfit sets that I purchased not with a specific character in mind but because I loved the outfit and had to snag it so anyone in that scale can wear those. I like to have at least one personal outfit per 1/3 and 1/4 that is only theirs. All my 1/6 are children so they wear whatever fits and I have a large accumulation of just cute 1/6 clothes they all share.

    17. I started out with getting lots of different outfits to mix and match, but now all of my dolls have either one outfit of their own that they don't share, or, a few outfits that they don't share. :XD:

I have some Angel of Dream 1/4 dolls that have maybe 4 or 5 different outfits, and some Custom House dolls that have 2 or 3 outfits, but they can only wear one outfit at a time, so I have been rethinking that stance.

    18. I mean, mine mostly kinda... can't. Even the three MSDs are all different measurements. Heck, I only have two that can even really share wigs. I WISH they could, it would make life easier but, alas, tis not to be.

    19. not only do I swap and mix clothing, but I swap heads, same molds, but different faceups

    20. While some of my dolls have distinct styles, if two or more are the same size, they will share clothes. With some pairs or triples I will buy or make coordinating outfits:
