still haven't heard back from the MP seller - I'll bet he's not for sale anymore

does anyone know if its ok to use masking tape on a sealed doll? I have a idea for doing the fine lines on the faceups lol

FrozenRose: I know I've seen a few tutorials before that involve using tape to make stencils for eyebrows, so yeah, masking tape probably is fine. I'd get the low-tack painters tape though, just to be safe.

I agree with Cowpewter I would use painters tape but I think masking tape should be fine.

 

*bounces* He came he came he came! I wasn't expecting him until Tuesday 'cause he only left California sometime very early yesterday, but he arrived today! Luckily I had his eyes and wig and clothes ready for him, so here's my Chibi!Puck.

Proportionally, a Pukifee Shiwoo is a better match for a Minifee Shiwoo, but this guy sprung up on the marketplace and I couldn't resist a Littlefee Shiwoo elf!

Puck is so spoiled. He gets his own wardrobe, his very own story ... and now his own baby version of himself! lol



Of course, I STILL have the wig and clothes for the Pukifee Shiwoo I was GONNA get, so I may soon end up with a Chibichibi version of Puck, too. lol

 

Wel, of COURSE you're still going to need a Chibichibi version. You've already got the wig and clothes after all!

lol But I can't find proper eyes for him. The eyes are very important. *nodnod* Unfortunately, Volks doesn't sell their metallics in less than 14mm, and since Pukifee only take 10mm, I'll need to find a suitable replacement. I've been looking, but golden metallic acrylics are hard to come by in such small sizes. ^^;

I stabbed myself so bad with the beading needle working with such tiny beads (ironic really since I work with them a lot lol) but I was so happy with how it turned out

Eek FrozenRose, how many days has it been? Even if the doll is already sold, the seller could tell you so, surely :/. I've inquired about two dolls recently and always got swift replies telling me I was too late :p.

The necklace is very sweet! And it doesn't look bloodied .

Somebody needs to save me from myself - I've gone completely doll-crazy. yesterday I found myself looking for pictures of Fairyland's Chicline Rou, thinking he'd make a wonderful 'Small Gawain' - you know, a lot easier to handle than my SD version? But the idea of getting a Small Gawain is kind of ludicrous in view of the fact that, well, I don't dare to take my dolls out of the house anyway except to go to meetings, so what would be the point of having an easier-to-handle version that doesn't fit in with any of my existent crew anyway?

Similarly, my MP acquisition may not fit in with my current crew at all, even though I bought him to be Gawain's second son, Florens. He's a Dollmore Alex. I couldn't resist him because he's so utterly adorable, but it's clear that I can't put him next to his older (!) brother Gingalain, my incoming Doll Leaves Vivian. Go me! Well, we'll see how it goes. If he looks okay next to his parents, all is well. If not... I guess I'll have to be creative. And possibly get another doll to be Florens -_-. Boohoohoo! And YAY too, because Dollmore Alex is almost here...

I'm also looking at getting a few DiM heads I've been offered (I put a WTB post up) and a leeke wein head, and a dollmore Pado head (gorgeous faceup on that one) with my birthday money ... wonder if it will stretch to bodies lol
on that note anyone know if DZ/DZ anything matches Dollmore and leeke normal resin?

Meanwhile, I think I might go to the Arts, Beats and Eats thing in my area today and take the smaller members of my crew to wander around... So I'm sure interesting pictures to come...

I just put in an offer for the leeke Wein head ... he was my fave sculpt but I didn't have the funds to get him before they stopped selling all their stuff. I'll have to wait till tuesday to see how the birthday funds stand to pitch offers on the rest

 

A friend had very good luck with specialty eyes from Ersa Flora, and they go down to 8 mm.

FR: Especially during a long holiday you might want to 'ping' them but not infer that they're ignoring you. I've been unexpectedly offline for a few days once or twice and come back to "OMG are you DEAD?" emails that had me laughing.

 

I don't have a smart phone (just a stupid one)... so there are times I'm off-line. I was just on a weekend trip where I was off-line for three days, so it can happen...

If you have contacted the sellers, they SHOULD go by whomever has sent the message first, so there's not much you can do but wait and see, I think.

I'm really hoping they're just on holiday or sorting kids out for new school term kinda thing and just haven't had a chance to check in.

Fei-head should be arriving soon - all heads and no bodies lol, but I still haven't had a shipping notice from Luts - they've been so quick the last 2 times I've ordered from them but I don't like to ask on their Q&A board until the stated time has passed (I think it's 16wks on their site).

Does anyone have any suggestions for other places I could check out for maybe getting some of the discontinued dolls I'm after? I tried UK ebay but they don't seem to have much, and other than the MP here I'm not really sure of other places - figured I should ask just incase I'm missing some big second-hand market somewhere lol.

Oh and this week marks 1 year that I've been a minion to the resin crew I'll have to try and get a nice group pic to celebrate
