1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    1. I do from time to time; I'm working on another gown in a dusky rose satin for CP girls that will likely go up for sale when it's finished. I'm happy to take on commissions too; if there's something you had in mind, feel free to PM me. :)

    2. Yay for foxes! I'm going down to stay at the BJDCon hotel with KellyinDallas and her daughter tomorrow... we're going to bum around Austin and and the Con lobby, then hit the Dealer's room Saturday. It's Kelly and Abbey's first BJDC!

    3. ... Which is why for a brief moment it seemed like a good idea, but then I came to my senses. ;)

    4. Want EID Kamau in NS.... need moneee.... :( Beefcake! Mmmmmm......

    5. Oh BJD con sounds like so much fun! I really want to go. There is a smaller BJD con in San Diego in November, but it looks like it will be pretty small. It's quite a drive for me, but I am planning on going. I would be SO SO cool to go to BJD con in SD, then hop on a cruise the next day. /living large!

    6. Hey! Shiney new thread!!! Yay!!!!!!!

I've thought about checking out the San Diego one, but I've heard it is really small. :( Pooh.

    7. New thread!

April Please buy enough for me! LOL!

I need to redo how I have my crew's clothing. It's all over the place.

    8. Wow, we broke the last Thread rather quickly, I think ... :o I should go back and make sure I 'collect' all the really good sayings we all had before they disappear into the aether! (Though wanting to work on a new shirt for Yue (made from a beautiful blue dress sock) are making the decision harder to work with!)

P.S. No, I didn't realize until just now that that first sentence sounds like some sort of word pun. :sweat (Thread for the Forum & 'thread' as in sewing. :doh)

    9. *wanders into the nice shiny, newly waxed thread*

Needs to smack the muse to get busy. Automail to finish (mine AND Ed's), a Bygg to finish paying off, a possible snag of the Abadon dreaming head I have wanted for a while, looking into preparing to reshell Icarus to a SSDF body so when I finish painting up all the Abadon armor, he can wear it...

I tell you the list keeps growing....@_@ and then it gets into the whole some many things, so little time mode....

    10. I'm not anywhere near a possible con for BJDs but I used to hit small Conventions for dolls and bears, trains, and yes, Star Trek, and small can be a blast. You get one on one time with folks. You actually get to meet people instead of just wave as you are pushed along by the wave of humanity behind you...and sometimes things are priced more reasonably in the sales rooms.

Besides, small conventions grow if you go. :)

    11. First day (exhausted 'cause I had to catch a taxi to the airport at 4am to arrive in Austin before the first banquet). There are around 300 or so attendees, which is pretty darn huge. More coming on Saturday, when the dealers room is open to the public. Lots of amazing dolls--and everyone is friendly... it's like I've known them forever, since we all understand this crazy bjd-thing! :D

Lots of doll-creators here. Lots of dolls not allowed on DoA. I haven't even seen the dealers room yet and I'm really, really worried about cleaning out my bank account! *_*

      ---

The San Diego mini-con is small. 30 or so people. But it's a good time. The last time there were only a few dealers... so not so dangerous to the bank account. The CCBJDcon held up in No. Cal. was bigger as far as sellers went. The costume contest is more fun in San Diego (there wasn't one up north). Lots of pretty dolls to see and usually a cool diorama for photographing dolls.

But for a bigger event... I'm guessing you'll have to go to this Austin BJDC (held every other year), or to the San Francisco bjd con if it's ever held again...

And maybe some other con will be organized and held, although usually they start out small, as others have said, and try to grow bigger over time...

    12. April- We went to ccbjd con this year and it was really awesome. It's too bad the San Diego one is so small then. It kinda deters me to be honest, because it's a really long drive for me.

    13. I couldn't make it to the CCBJD, but it was my understanding that it would be the last one she put together. :( I wanted to go, but couldn't swing to time off work or hotel money at the time.

I don't mind small cons, it's just a long drive to chat with a few people and I'm not very outgoing in person.

    14. It's quiet in here.... too quiet.... Guess everyone's having fun at the Con in Texas. :(

And I changed my mind -- I want an EID Luo. So poor, must start saving.

    15. I'd have to fly in and pray to whaever God might be listening to snag a hotel room. They tend to go live when I'm at work with no internet. So...yeah...never happens.

    16. I'm here. Just don't have anything doll-related to say. Not that that's ever stopped me before.

Oven's still broken. I need to make more pies and some cookies for the doll meetup next week. The theme is "I want candy," so my kids decided to do a bake sale. I told them it wasn't the same thing but Cleo had dollar signs in her eyes and the other two stopped listening to reason when the word "cookies" came up.

    17. I'm here too...
I'm so happy I finally sent my last payment in to Kerbey Lane for my Yukinojo. Now, to wait! It could be anywhere like... 1-6 months from now?? :sweat

I'm also really looking forward to getting an elf dahlia soon... I've wanted Dahlia since she was first released almost 4 years ago.

I really want to make a cake tomorrow! I need a good reason, otherwise my husband is going to think I have weird 'cravings'.... if you get me! :D

    18. Are there any 70cm beefcake guys other than the EIDs? I've heard their posability isn't the best. I need a big guy for a character -- tall and broad-chested.... he can turn into a bear! -- and all the other SD70 boys are on the skinny side. I was looking at the Super Hero EID body, but the legs look a little stock when compared to my other SD70s. I realize the EID proportions are more true to life, but if he's the only one out of a more stylized group I don't want him to look stumpy. :P Especially next to my SSDF, who has really long legs for some reason.

    19. Soom 72cm Idealian *nod*

I bet Lintila would be happy to oblige with some spam of Jaeron (her Idealian Galway), if you'd like.

Edit to add: Though I don't know if Idealians are any better at posing than EIDs. I've never held a male EID, but Jaeron is really freaking heavy. I think once you hit a certain beefcake level there's just so much weight to the resin itself there's only so much you can do. I know the Idealians have nifty locks in their shoulders to help hold their arms up without their weight defeating the forces of friction, but like Sooms in general they don't seem to be the best at sitting up straight. Unbelievably gorgeous and detailed sculpt though.

    20. i'm seconding what cowpewter said. My Mom has Arvid in the model body. he is heavy as crap lol! and while a girl, she has Albany who is an Idealian. Albany posses better than Arvid any day of the week. and looks better if you ask me:) very realistic bods too. i like my mega gems but they have tiny feet. but i agree again that soom's super gem line are crappy posers.
