1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    1. I just checked the AoD, and the company pictures for WangZi have a fluffy collar that completely covers the neck. The body photos were no help, either. AoD isn't exactly a... top quality doll line, so it may well be the way the sculpt is. Kinda weird, though.... You could probably fix it by openning up the neck hole just a little with sanding (open it toward the back so you don't lose any of the jaw), or by sanding the neck a little thinner. Maybe the previous owner shortened the neck a little to a slightly wider point?

    2. Ahhh....I don't think I'd like a Sharpie Dollie, and will stick to industry standard materials when doing my faceups

    3. Thanks dhawktx and Cymorill. I think I'm going to try taking out some of the neck hole. What level sandpaper should I start with? I have the set of four super fine waterproof Testors sandpaper is that good?

    4. By "super fine" is that 320 grit or so? Best to start with 220 grit to take out what you want, then smooth is with 320, 400, 600, and 800. You can up is all the way to 2000, but I like to leave my joint sockets at 800 -- gives them a nice smooth motion with just a little bit of traction. You'll have to get the higher grits from an autoparts store, probably. If it isn't smooth enough it'll grate on the neck.

    5. yikes I'm away for a week and there's a new thread AND it explodes lol

Sadly I can only dodge in and back out again ... busy busy at the mo - Aaron arrived (yay) and he's even more perfect in the flesh ... err I mean resin ;)
He's my little punk tween (proper old 80's english punk) and he's all sulky/pouty because I won't let him have any tattoos or piercings as he's only 12 ;)
This is his "No tats or piercings? No fair, that's SO not punk!" look
LOVE LOVE LOVE his boots (DZ) and his pants (Nine9) ... his t-shirt isn't one of his perfect punk ones but it'll do for now ... but I totally can't get his wig anywhere :(
If anyone knows where I can get one like this (material not important - like if its in fur that's fine), and even better if it's in the UK/EU lol :sweat

In other news I got second place in my jewellery making contest (gets me the swarovski crystals for Iris and Amaryll's outfits for free lol) :)

Promise I'll catch up properly soon xx

    6. Hey Frozen, he looks awesome and I like the wig you are looking for. Also, congratulations on the win!!Thanks for the advice Cymorill :)

    7. Oh, what a cutie! I love that he's more worried about tats and piercings than being bald. And you can totally make a wig like that out of fur (in fact I just posted one on post 87 that I made yesterday!)

    8. I'm having a nightmare time getting fur anywhere around near me ... even my go-to fabric shop stopped the fur :(
I saw that wig and thought - wow cymorill's got the same idea as me for a wig ...

and thanks everyone - it's weird the first time I saw Aaron in the company pics I wasn't into him but the second I knew I wanted a punk kid in the clan I knew he was the guy ... actually starting to wish I'd got his faceup as it's growing on me but I need the practice

    9. Try a GO with Mendel's, they've got great faux fur, even if you DO have to buy a yard of it!

    10. I'm UK .. don't think we have mendel's ... but I can get hold of hair (like the stuff you make wigs out of) very easily and Angelesque has the bases so I'm thinking I may have to go there - god only knows what I'll end up with lol

    11. After pictures!!

Considering that I had never touched resin with sandpaper before, I'm pretty pleased with how this turned out. There are more pics on my thread. I also made him a pair of cotton PJ bottoms/lounge pants and there are pics of those as well.

    12. Great job Kolombe! I'm glad you went for it :)

    13. I'm loving these high heel shoes that l bought for Moka (she is a dds) from coolcat. I said l never would be into SD but l was wrong. I want the new F60 EI. I wonder if anyone has done a size differents between a DDS and a F60 from fairyland.

I'm glade that l have my girls to keep my mind busy well l wate for surgery. (yes l'm still wating)

    14. Does anybody know if the clothes from Alice's Collections fit DDdy bodies? I've been searching for a pair of jean shorts for my DDdy girl and haven't really been able to find much.

    15. Thanks :) I don't think I would have risked it with my DollZone dolls ;)

    16. Hey there Janeway, long time no see. STILL no surgery? Ouch!

      Kolombe... kudos! You're a Modder!

    17. yay people are back on the thread lol

      great neck mod kolombe :sweat

I'm getting frustrated with faceups - Serena's on her 4th and I'm not happy with it still but I really want to play with her but contemplating redoing it (again) as I don't want to redo it once I have her all kitted out unless I really have to, Ralphy needs to be redone and Aaron ... well actually Aaron's the only one that's going pretty well - up until his last seal where some stray tiny hairs got on him :...( ... and I still can't get fine line even with a tiny 0000 brush which is really p*ssing me off since I can do it perfectly on paper. Hating how much work it takes to get a botched faceup off only to redo it all and not like it *sigh* back to ordering defaults (which knocks a couple down the list as I don't like their defaults) until I can get the hang of this :(

In better news I've been working on some jewellery - micro micro macrame as I've taken to calling it  doing micro macrame designs with sewing thread instead of C-Lon cord - nightmare to work with but the results are actually better than I thought they were going to be ... I'll post a pic tomorrow when I finish it (hand cramped up lol) :)

    18. dhawktx yup wating can be a pain in the arse and the pain to go with it. I'v got Moka sitting beside me and she wants more dollfie stuff.

    19. Janeway - I hope you don't have to wait too much longer for your surgery! (The thought of a Dollie-friend in pain is just heartbreaking ... but I'm glad you have dolls there to help you through the waiting.)

I've been having two or three days now where I wish I had a couple extra pairs of hands; I've been working on a human-sized crochet hat and on a doll-sized crochet blanket ... and I've been way too impatient to get both of them done. :sweat Like I said, I feel like I need modding on myself so that I can work on both projects at once! :doh

    20. kamehane don't worrie too much l'll well be ok. Crochet things for our dollfie's can be fun and the time that we spend making stuff for them is worth it. I knit sometimes.
