1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    1. Sooo super cute! Love your choices! ;)

    2. The 3D printing thing is so cool! Does it cost tons?

    3. Nope! her shop is at http://www.shapeways.com/shops/acrylic_eyes. She also has some nice cosplay sets she's working on. I got the rings from the faux Black Butler set and they look great on my Alberta as well as KellyinDallas' Kid Bory. Kiki even made a ring sizer you can use to order special sized just to fit your doll. And since the White strong and flexible is nylon, it'll never scratch the doll! I made Jack's chainemaille hauberk for about $30.

The MSD scale fencing foil is only $20, mine was a little less since it has less material (you get charged for production according to how much material is fused by the laser!).

    4. I second that! This fascinates me - gotta link for us, Donna???

Simultaneous posting!!!!! Thanks, D And WOW!!! I am completely amazed at all the fabulous things! Lemmee see -- who would take up fencing???????????????????

    5. Omg, I LOVE this thread. /cry

Every one is so epically cool! Thanks Donna for that really awesome link to the 3d printed stuff. That's just so neat and it turned out so very well.

    6. Oh wow, does she do commissions?? I am dying to get this thing made....and I will do everything in my power to avoid doing it myself. All those eyes....*ded*

    7. VA - are you looking just for the scythe thing or the whole pic? Very nice work on the drawing!

    8. Thank you! <3
The scythe thing...I have Azrael as a doll and he needs it so the others will stop picking on him for being lame. And the only one of my dolls with high-heeled feet (which makes him AWESOME not lame. But try telling that to the rest of my boys who think like...men. From a cave. So y'know...).

Of course if he has the "eyes" I'll have to make him wings. I can't make one pair of wings let alone three pairs-in-one D:

    9. Awwww, You're welcome!

Yes, she does... the Black Butler set was a commission that wasn't an exclusive. With your drawing skillz I'm sure she'd be willing to take this on, especially if you're willing to also draw it from above to give her the thickness, as well as give accurate dimensions. If you wanted it guaranteed exclusive that might be extra, I dunno. I'll PM you her personal contact info.

    10. hey guys can anyone help me out - is there any way to search for faceup artists by location (UK or EU for me)? Staring at the computer's doing my brain in at the mo so I wondered if there was an easier way of searching through all the faceup artists on here lol =)

    11. FrozenRose- You could always post a WTC thread for UK artists only and see who bites.

    12. Yeep! I go on vacation for a week and thread 'splodes on me again. ^^;

I gots a question, though! Right before I left for Ohio, someone posted a Littlefee Shiwoo elf on the MP and I managed to snag it on a short layaway *happyhamsterdance*. But the description says he comes with a sleeping faceplate ... and after thinking about it I have to wonder if Fairyland even made a sleeping faceplate. I was always under the impression that the elf event plate was an open-eyed version only. Am I wrong about that? O_o

    13. I had a commission to open some sleeping LTF faceplates as year or so ago, and there was a Shiwoo among them. I'm pretty sure it was the elf version.

*waves hand in air* I have a question, too! Anyone know a good supplier for metal scrapbooking eyelets? Apparently neither Michael's nor Joanna is really carrying eyelets anymore, and I can't seem to find the metal ones online. I've checked with what few scrapbook stores are in my county, and they all only have the bright colored eyelets, not the nice metal ones (copper, brass, bronze, etc.) Michael's still carries white, black, and silver, but what happened to the other metal colors? I did find a few places that sell copper-colored eyelets, but they're just painted onto white (WTF?) and would probably scratch off. Suggestions?

    14. http://www.eyeletoutlet.com/

They even have the REALLY tiny 1/16" eyelet that you see on professionally made doll shoes and leather goods, but the ones you want are the 1/8" ones here-- http://www.eyeletoutlet.com/round-eyelets.html

    15. Oh, good. I'm glad I'm actually getting the right Shiwoo then. I was gonna go for a Pukifee Shiwoo 'cause of pointy ears, but this is even better! :)

As for eyelets, do you have an AC Moore around your area? The one in my county has a pretty big scrapbooking section, but I'm on the other side of the States, too. They have an online store, though. Try there?

    16. Lintila, I have a 6/7 wig that I'd send you free of charge if you want it. It's Monique Hilda in Golden Auburn or something like that. The curls are a little tatty but it's better than being unwillingly bald. I hate to see a bald dollie! (Who doesn't want to be bald, that is.) I hope you find work soon!

VA -- How big is the doll with the scythe? 60cm? I could theoretically sculpt something like that, but I'd have to figure out a material that would be light enough. What color are his wings supposed to be?
Oh, and are you one of the St Louis people coming to the Kansas City meetup tomorrow? I can't go and I'll be just sick if I'm missing the chance to meet you in person.

    17. I'm not going tomorrow...I'm closer to one of the other groups in the area, and I don't know anyone going. Are there a lot of them? There are some people in your area trying to organize a MO meet later in the year or some other time at the store (I forget the name of >.<) and I do plan on trying to get to that one! It's never really occurred to me to try and do giant MO meets before, we should really try and do more. It would be so fun to meet in person! :D

Scythe-doll is one of my Kara Klums at about 58cm. The only one I have that isn't technically Alex. He's got high-heeled feets that do make him taller. I had thought to try and make it once or twice but never bothered for the same reason...I don't know what would be light enough for him!
Wings are just white...a few of my angels have different colored wings but not Azrael. Or really most of my angels that I have as dolls :\

    18. I was worried it would boil down to that *sigh* ... being able to search the faceup artists bit by area would be a brilliant feature
I guess I'll just have to hop over to the pygmalion thread and ask for some suggestions - they're all London based so I'm guessing they know of quite a lot of faceup artists in the UK/EU
