Does your 'favourite' doll change?

Of course! ^^

Depending on my mood of the day, I just want to admire Tamara, pet Tauros, work on cute scenes with him and the others, melt in front of my cute Ophelie or smile again when I take out Pim's!

And I know I won't just have smiling BJDs. There are some, a little sulky, that I really like and that will be perfect for rainy days... ^^ I'm waiting to find the right model for me.

 

For me it happened only once. My favorite doll for a long time was my first resin BJD; he was an X-mas gift from my mom and my bff (my first BJD was a hybrid, and a female, so maybe that influenced how I saw my first resin one). Then I got my fourth BJD years later and he became my favorite BJD, and still remains the one. I do favor bits and pieces of other BJD I own, because I am picky about proportions and sizes, but my fourth BJD is still my favorite. "Flaws" and all, I am quite biased when it comes to him. That hasn't changed since I got him as a Christmas gift for myself in 2007. (:

 

For the most part my attention rotates between my dolls but I think my absolute favorite, one I could never bring myself to part with would have to be my first-- my Bobobie Isabella. Sure she's not the best poser, but the work I've put into her and how long she's been with me has made the difference.

 

Oh yes, mine changes all the time! In fact, it’s like a regular rotation around here. Each of my BJDs have their own individual wardrobes, so whenever I’m changing their outfit I’m always surprised by how wonderful they are and I can’t stop staring at them! I’ll say, “Oh, you’re my favorite,” then I’ll change another one and go, “Oh, YOU’RE my favorite!” Round and round it goes. but that’s a good thing, right? It means I dearly love my entire collection.

 

Sort of... Temporarily.

The doll I've most recenly been inspired to sew for is my "temporary favourite" until the next inspiration strikes, and the next one takes that space... but the doll who is my absolute favourite is always the same one.

I like them all, but some are ofcourse more pampered and special to me. First my favorite for long time was my Dollmore Momo (very first doll I got). Then my Luts Abadon who kept the favorite place quite long. At the moment my favorite is my Soom Onyx. Tho, I have feeling that my Momo will be shift to my favorites again, I just loved what new makeup and styling did to her. I don't think much about favorites, but I just tend to notice who of my dolls just feels "bestest" of them when I'm thinking about clothes or photoshoots. I don't change my favorite very often. Every current favorite doll has been the favorite for years.

My favourite changes as much as a human. I have so many ideas for him and I love to explore his facets.
He can pull off so many different looks and always look great in it.
I also find it very nice to see that (like humans) dolls have individual styles that match their type and others they can't wear at all. He looks especially good with dark short hair or dark longer hair. I can't imagine him with pink hair for example, while others from my team look best with colourful hair.

 

Yes, definitely, especially since the focus of my crew tends to change about every 2-3 years. I get bored with the same thing for ages on end, I have to change it up.

Although I do still my have my first doll I got in 2008, and I have a special attachment to him. I don't see me ever letting him go.

For me personally, it doesn't really change. I love the first dolls I got and they hold a special place in my heart. Honestly I can't pick for sure favorites cause all my dolls are my favorites.

 

While I'm fond of all of my dolls... I wouldn't keep them if I wasn't... I do have favorites, and so far the ones in that category have remained pretty consistent.

 

I think my favorite definitely rotates. Since I like to make a lot of things for my dolls whoever I'm currently inspired to craft for tends to be my favorite doll at the moment.

 

I tend to obsess over whichever doll is newest but lately I've been really into my Volks Nagisa.

 

My favorite dolls are definitely still my first two. There's just something really special to me about that time in my life- how many hours I spent pouring over this forum and doll websites, the trouble I went to to order them back then, the first time seeing them in person. Don't get me wrong, I love my other dolls as well, but it's just not quite the same.

 

My favorite doll used to change a lot until I got my DD Miku! She's my favorite now! Used to be a grail for a while and then when i repainted her the magic happened and I fell in love~!

 

Once I got my Iplehouse Peekaboo, Manon, she definitely has stayed my favorite!

 

Fo me it is a rotation between a group of 5-6 dolls. But those 5-6 dolls are the same for years now. Part of my preference comes from the time I've owned them (maybe because I sold those I liked less?). So my favorites are 7 to 13 years old. XD

 

I'd like to say they're all my favourite or that it rotates but, honestly, after years of having him my favourite does not seem to stray from my first ever doll. Charlie, my Dollshe Hound, has consistently been the doll that when I have him out I reach for him the most, I find him the most comfortable to hold, I constantly want to change his clothes, brush his hair, etc., I still want to buy him new things even though he's a "finished" doll. All of that combined tells me he's still my fav since 2008 and no one seems close to dethroning him anytime soon.
