1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Doll couples - matching aesthetics important?

Oct 14, 2014

    1. That's what I eventually want my dolls to do. I want them to look like best friends or family, even if they're based off of pre-existing characters that would never know each other.

    2. They would HAVE to look good together, because I'm going to pose them gazing into each other's eyes adoringly and they have to having similar aesthetics. I have some couples in mind, and I'm planning for them to come from the same company so that they have that similarity of aesthetic. This goes for any pairing regardless of sex or gender. I just don't think I could put a Dollshe Hound with a Delf Miyu and have it work for me.

    3. They don't have to have the same aesthetic, but they have to have similar proportions. So that they look like they could reasonably coexist in the same universe.

    4. It's fairly important that if I have a doll pair, whether best friends, siblings or partners that they photograph well together and look good together in general. I like to arrange my dolls by how well they look next to each other.

I usually don't buy a specific doll with the intention of it being the partner/friend/family of a specific doll unless it just seems perfect. I usually buy dolls I like and then when they come home "let them decide@ lol.

Some dolls I intended to be best friends look awful together and others have been wonderful surprises. I would never force a pair though. I don't have such concrete characters outside of my core group so I can be flexible.
