1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Doll eyes - big or small irises / sleeping heads?

Oct 2, 2018

    1. Generally speaking, smaller irises are preferable to my taste, especially for fully human dolls. However, my Hujoos have larger irises. It's just cuter/more vulnerable on an animal sculpt, I think.

    2. In theory, I like small irises, but in practice, my dolls all have larger irises. Many have pupilless eyes and bigger iris means bigger art inside the iris, and since the ones that do not are all characters in the same universe, and the first one that got eyes happened to be large iris eyes.... the rest have large irises to match. But I do like the look of small irises, and would like to get at least one doll with small iris eyes in the future.

    3. Small iris all the way! All of my dolls, regardless of their level of realism have smaller than normal iris' but the realistic ones especially. I just prefer the way it looks and brings them to life for me. In theory I like larger iris because they are easier to photograph and show more colour than my smaller iris'd eyes do, but aside from my one yosd sized doll, they just don't look right in any of my dolls. So smaller it is. :)

But I love seeing them in other dolls with larger iris', when I try and do the same with mine, it just doesn't work somehow. Especially for my big, buff guys the sweet, doe eyed look just doesn't work with my angry ones. lol

    4. I usually prefer larger irises for my eyes; I love the cute look it gives my dolls. Then again, I haven't really tried out too many small iris eyes in my dolls, so maybe my opinion is subject to change.
