1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Doll Family A Discussion - part 2

Jan 12, 2015

    1. @rubydoll Thank you! I'm really glad to hear that they pose so well! It is a relief to one of the fears I have. c:

I've finally found the doll family discussion thread too, so I'll poke around there some more. I'm still getting used to things on this site and am a little overwhelmed with how many things are available!

    2. Hello! I'm slowly making my way to be more active on here. I made the jump and put DF-H Xia Yutong on layaway at Alice's Collections (they've been really wonderful so far! I am very impressed and satisfied with communications in working out the layaway!)

I'm both really excited and terrified at the same time about getting him. He will be my first ever SD sized doll as well as the first doll that wasn't already in stock. Fingers crossed all goes well.

In the meantime, does anyone have a Xia Yutong that they could post? c:

    3. Congrats on ordering your Xia Yutong, Aayden!
When I ordered mine in late 2014, I could hardly find any owner pictures, and haven't seen many since, either. Great that soon another one will be around, as this sculpt deserves more love!
Haven't shown mine much: the poor guy has been very neglected, and I've only recently started work on his face-up. Haven't taken any pictures of him besides when he first arrived, but here he is:

    4. Ah! He's so lovely~ Even without a faceup yet I adore him.

I love how he looks just a little bit sad. Sort of a... melancholy look to him. It's perfect for the character I have in mind. I know I've got a ways to wait yet - but I'm so excited. I've already been scoping out ideas for him; things I need to buy, things to make for him and so on.

I'll definitely post pictures of him once he arrives~

    5. Oh my! That is so unbelievably exciting! I was hoping to find a slightly smaller doll than the 72 cm for my Xia YuTong's boyfriend, while still having the jointed hands and all... This is such good news for me. I'll have to keep an eye on this for late next year if I decide I want to get both boys as BJDs in this size range.

    6. Wolfboy, your Xia YuTong is a beautiful sculpt. :fangirl: Thanks for the photo!

I've always had a soft spot for DF-H's 60cm Xia YuTong and 65cm Lyndon. I think they both look very similar.

OMG! Lilla, DF-H's new boy so gorgeous! :love:love:love

I wonder if that new head would fit on one of their 65cm bodies?

    7. Out of curiosity, so I can start shopping while I wait for him to arrive; What wig size and what eye size will fit my upcoming Xia YuTong? The site doesn't specify head size so I am a bit curious as to what size would fit him.

    8. Takumi Kazama is ah-may-zing! I want to snap him right up (in tan skin), so he can be the big brother to my female, tan skin Nan Xing (who still hasn't shipped ...), but I am all outta doll funds. *cries bitterly*

    9. Hello! Just a curious lurker! I was wondering if anyone could answer a posing question on the 62cm type 3 boy body. I was wondering can he cross his arms easily? If there are any shirtless photos showing this off, that I might have missed, I’d love to see! :whee:

    10. Sadly I think crossing his arms may be his weak point;

DF-H 63cm Boy Body with Little Rebel Svein Head

He doesn't have any swivel joints in his arms so he's limited to the flexibility in his elbows. There's some other shirtless photos there too. I may have got a bit carried away XD

    11. Darn but oh my! What a lovely body, those extra pictures are :D:D It feels like a gem to find that aesthetic in 60cm range

hmmm I don't think swivel joints are necessary? I have single jointed babs who can! Regardless! Thank you so much for the images, this was mighty helpful in my quest! :kitty1:daisy:daisy

    12. He looks so lovely! The posing looks really good~ Despite the limitations, it looks like he's got a good range of motion (and takes lovely pictures).

How are the jointed hands? My boy's getting those as well and I'm curious on how well they work/pose. I imagine such tiny joints would be rather finicky to pose.

Thanks for posting pictures! Makes me anticipate my new guy even more c:

    13. I think I depends on the size and shape of the elbow peanut. When they're a bit more rounded you can manipulate them a bit more but his are very snug. I coaxed him as much as I dared but so far my only doll injury has been a crack from trying to rotate the elbow joint of a different doll so I wasn't gonna push it!

But yes, he is a very nice body! He really needs blushing to match and I think that will bring out the detail in the sculpt too. I am not a fan of his outie belly button so that may have to go tho!

      Good luck in your quest!

    14. Def no cracks on my behalf! Thank you for all the effort and more details! I totally agree about the roundness making a difference. Thats a good way to explain it :whee::aheartbea

oooo!? He does have an outie so cuteee! :XD::daisy:daisy Seeing a body blushing would be lovely on these shorties.

    15. He holds poses really well, straight out of the box I had him balancing on one leg. He's almost been neglected cos he needed nothing doing!

Jointed hands can be a pain in the butt but his are actually okay. I have Impldoll jointed hands which I had to wire to make behave and male and female Resinsoul ones which can be a bit flicky. The DF-H ones pose okay with patience and the rotation on the thumb means it looks more natural than some jointed hands. They do splay back a bit when fully open but some people's hands do do that. He's pretty good at holding stuff too.

Hope you're not waiting too long for your boy and have fun with the hands!

    16. I was telling myself the same thing, about finishing up my current planned projects first...
but I ended up staring at Kazama non-stop for hours, so I figured I might as well adopt him.
      =^.^=
      He's adorable! <3

    17. I am really interested in buying a DF-H 65cm 3-part torso male body for my old Soom Heliot head. But... I am finding it really difficult to get an idea of what the resin tones are like! Is the white skin creamy or paper white? Or what is the normal yellow like, is it dark or a lighter tone? My head is a yellowed white skin, so I'm trying to figure out which colour to get from DF-H to match. If you have any idea, I would appreciate any info I can get! Thank you! ♥ ♥ ♥

    18. I have an Ella head in NP :) compared to my Lang Ya in white skin, she is very buttery and much more pink. My Lang Ya is like paper white; he also matches the new IOS white perfectly along with Resin soul white.

    19. Finally my boy is ready again. I really didn't want to sell Lyndon's head because he's just perfect even though I saw his old character in him all the time. Problem solved: half-brother!
