1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Doll Family A Discussion - part 2

Jan 12, 2015

    1. @Bubbleteaddict I haven't had any problems buying clothes for mine. I generally buy clothes listed for 68cm size bodies. I also have both versions of the body and I do find I like the added mobility of the lower torso/hip joint. I did a comparison of the body here, DF-A & Migidoll 68cm Body Comp - Album on Imgur.

    2. Hey Iza, hope you don’t mind me bumping this a little! Just curious about how these two compare. I’ve seen a line up of pure white, white, normal pink and normal yellow and the normal yellow is surprisingly dark compared to the pink, so I’m curious as to how the light tan compares to pink!

Also if anyone has ‘tan’ alongside any of the other colours, I’d be interested to see that too (obviously can’t change my order but, yeah!)

    3. Ah, sorry! I'm such a scatterbrain, sorry about the delay!

So, here is the comparison under a daylight lamp. The big hand is Normal Yellow from 2020, the Light Tan knee peanut is from 2021, and the tiny hand in normal pink is from 2022. Hope this helps!

    4. Thank you so much! This is a huge help (and a big relief, was getting worried that light tan was going to be too pale but it looks perfect) :love

    5. You're welcome! It really is a nice color, not too dark, but still definitely a tan. In some lighting it looks more like an olive toned normal skin in pictures. I do wish I'd gotten a regular tan body, as the head I hybrided on it is darker. But I can correct that with blushing the torso, I need to anyway as my boy has a tattoo on his neck.

    6. @IzabethS : I know you've shown me comparisons before for the 65 body, but I really do think this sealed the deal and laid to rest any waffling I've had on getting the DF-A 65 in the tan color. :D As always, thanks so much for sharing!

    7. It really is such a nice body, and rock solid too! I only had to suede mine because I swapped his legs from the knees down and the fit is atrocious. But he still stands pretty well!

    8. I got my male body today (he arrived with broken fingers, but that's being fixed) but wow the resin color is really different. They're both supposed to be normal yellow. They said it's different between different batches (She's 8 months older) but now she looks more like a normal to me?

Especially if you look at his neck donut, which is her exact color.

Either way DF-A normal yellow (his version) is a really great match for an older, yellowed normal resin Resinsoul. The girl's head does work on her body since she's more blushed.

    9. I noticed this too. I recently worked on a DF-A Auriel in normal yellow, who had to be color matched to his newer DF-A normal yellow body as it is much paler than my DF-A 2020 normal yellow body

    10. So strange, it's only been 8 months between dolls! They must have some kind of issue if it's this off.
Unfortunately it puts me off getting jointed hands and stuff from them, which is a shame because I love the doll engineering of DF-A, especially the hand hooks.

It also makes me wonder how off the replacement hand will be =/ Good thing I fixed the broken one with glue and some rings to hide the cracks.

    11. Hi!

Does anyone have a pic of blank DF-A Dake head??
I just wanted to try a mock-up face up for a friend but I couldn't find a blank head pic.

    12. Hello All,

Can anybody here tell me if any of DF-A's resin tones can match up well with Resinsoul's Normal Skin resin? :)

    13. That's a shame...I guess some blushing and sewing clothes that cover the joints (so the difference is not too in your face) could work wonders, but still...I wonder why they're so different. I had my eyes on some DF-A dolls too, but I'd be worried about mixing and matching then...

    14. Does anyone have a pair of DF-A 65/68cm jointed hands and could tell me the overall length? The sites I've found selling them don't seem to list any measurements. (I bought a pair of the 75cm ones and I like them so much I want a pair for another, smaller doll.)

    15. Here:

      hands length:8.3cm
      hands width:2.7cm

    16. Thank you! :)

    17. I own two pairs of the DF-A jointed hands and while they're nice I find the fingers a bit to long. I tried to get my guys to wear gloves, but the fingers being on the long side prevented them from going on, and I have plenty of other dolls in the same size range who can wear them just fine. This goes for DF-A's regular hands as well.

    18. @Cloudedmind Thanks for your input. They do look pretty darn long. But I haven't really seen any alternatives that look so nice at the knuckles and joints when bent. I like the slim Granado hands, but I just can't stomach $120 + shipping for hands right now... I own Doll Legend jointed hands as well, and they too have very long fingers and like, strangely pointed fingertips? :huh?: Still among my favourites just because of the nice knuckle shapes. But I have a thing about running the same sculpt for different characters. I dunno. I've been hand shopping for a few years now and this is the closest I've come to a decision.

    19. I have heard that Doll Family H will resin match. Is this true? If so, how good are they at it and what would I be looking at price wise for this? Any help is appreciated.
