Doll Plans 2023

• No new dolls! I might need to unfollow Dream Valley on social media because I am obsessed with every one of their new releases.
• Dye spear and wings for Zenith.
• Dye and mod Red’s sword
• Dye Crow’s body, add scarring and make outfit.
• Kaisarion, Red, Soul, Crow, and Weiss’s head need: Face-ups and to be dyed.
• Finish Webb’s horse, Hibachi.
• Aaaand that’s it! That’s my fewest amount of goals for a new year yet, and I’m keeping it that way.

 

My plans:

• Buy a girl, who will be a sister for one of my characters
• Buy new accessories: wigs, eyes, clothes. I also need a furniture.
  
• Change make up for some dolls
• I am thinking about making wigs myself, but I am not so sure
• If i can find one rarely sleeping head, I also buy it. Maybe on the DOA marketplace i am lucky

 

This is the first year I can participate in the community so I'm very excited for next year. I only have my own bjd that I 3d sculpted and printed but my doll plans are:

- finish my sculpt by casting her in resin (im sure its hard to do but i think it will be fun to learn)
- sew and crochet/knit clothes for her
- learn how to style wigs and face ups

 

I am hoping to find some of the sculpts on my wish list, they are older so will be searching on the secondary markets.
I also look forward to new preorders in the New Year.

 

I definitely want to get more accessories (clothing, custom demon horns, furniture to properly display them) and get more involved with the hobby! Since I'm a newbie I of course only got dolls with default faceups now because finding someone to do custom faceups etc. is really intimidating but eventually I want to get into that as well to slowly make our dolls the most ideal version of themselves hehehe I want to start posing them and take nice pictures and maybe recreate some art commissions we've gotten before...

 

well I think I can safely say that I own/purchased/put on layaway all the dolls that I want so theoretically I should not need to buy anymore.
my 2023 goals: let go/sell some dolls to keep collection down; and try to give faceup to a doll or two.

 

I want to try and design some clothing for my boys because of all the remnant fabric I have that's been collecting dust for awhile. But I have enough issues drafting patterns for myself...Idk how well I'll be at it for dolls lol

1) Pay off my 2 layaways!

2) Do faceups when the weather improves: Dehali, Issa, Ehseg, Lorraine, Uriah, Nicholas, Edmond.

3) Get wigs & clothing for those who need them: Ehseg, Uriah, Nicholas, Edmond.

4) Set up a photo box or something where I can practice photography! I want to start doing photostories~

and 5) try really hard not to buy anyone new!

 

Buying no more than three dolls in 2023! (Buying no dolls at all was a big fail in both 2021 and 2022)
It's @Lotte Rotten who suggested we allowed ourself some new dolls, so we will try to be strong together ^_^

Aside that, I still have sooooo many tattoos to paint on my dolls! It will keep me busy for the 10 next years . If I can do at least one next year, it will be perfect.

In 2023 I would like to focus on the dolls I already own rather than bring home tonnes of new ones. I would like to make new wigs/eyes/clothes for the old dolls of mine that have been neglected lately and quite a few are in need of face ups as well. I would also like to take more photos.
But yea, my Doll Plans for 2023 are basically just to enjoy the dolls that I already own^^

 

My biggest plan is to not impulse buy xD I have a short list of dolls I really want to get/save for, other than that I mainly want to work on getting clothes, wigs, and faceups for the dolls I have. I also want to start photographing my dolls more! I've gotten decent at editing pictures in photoshop and I want to use that in some doll photography

 

I'll have to take a break from the hobby for much of next year, but for happy reasons. I'm due with a little one in the spring. However, I'd be lying if I didn't say that I'm a little sad about losing my doll-time for awhile.

 

My plans for 2023:

• Pay off my current layaway, then I'm not planning any more dolls for the year. At least, I'll try.
• After taking a long break, I'm going to resume sculpting a doll I've been making.
• I'm going to start making some sewn wigs for my dolls. I used to make them with glue but I find it too messy so I'm trying something new.
• I'm going to start sewing for my dolls more. I purchased a bunch of patterns so I'm excited to start making my own doll clothes.
• Finish all of my current dolls; finish outfits, wigs, and get faceups done.
• Purchase eyes and shoes, which are the only new things I plan to buy next year.
• I should be getting a doll body I ordered some time next year, and I'm planning to do my first mod, but just a simple neck mod.

 

I'm gradually becoming more active in the hobby again. My specific plans:

• Get faceups for all my blank dolls, and a new faceup for my Feeple60 Mirwen and its sleeping head. Erik's been rocking the same look for a while but I think he's due for an upgrade.
• Get everyone at least 1 pair of shoes. Erik, Sylvie, Anmitsu, Gyoza and Pavlova are all accounted for, Desdemona and Thursday are on temporary shoes for now. Just leaves Lumi, Daphne, Alistair. Also need shoes for upcoming dolls.
  
• Pay off my layaway and shipping fee!
  
• Get Anmitsu a new body. Not sure if I want to get her a regular MDD body, the mochi-ashi one, wait for the updated volks ver, or go obitsu, but that way she won't have to share one with Sylvie anymore.
  
• Paint my Mewie Fish Radish, Daikon. Also get some fake leaves for its head, but that's not really a priority.
  
• Sell off the dolls/heads I no longer have a bond with. I've been putting it off for a while, but I really need the space (and funds). Also need to sell the clothes, eyes, and wigs I don't need either. (10 years means a lot of hoarding- yikes!)

 

I'm out of the hobby for a while so I am planning to buy new accessories for every dolls I already have in purpose to make me fall in love of my collection again.

 

I want to actually put some work into making my pkf Tori and her off topic little sister's bedroom I talk about doing it all the time but never get around to it. I want to try and get as much as I can done on it in 2023.

Also want to figure out making wings for my Bobobie Moony Aspen and her OT mother my Teeny Tinkers Hollow Cedar.

Actually I need to do almost everything with Cedar but I know I'll be able to get most of it done once winter takes a hike.

Vish needs a new wig, maybe 2 new ones with differing styles so I hope to be able to get them made.

I need to buy Marjorie her own shoes so that she doesn't need to borrow Vish's boots or keep wearing the pair I threw together with leather scraps and hot glue if she doesn't want to go barefoot.

Not to impulse buy any new dolls. My money has a lot of places it needs to go so any dolls have to be semi planned if I'm going to buy them.

Hopefully health and general ups and downs of life will still allow me to complete something from this list.

 

I don't have a whole lot of plans this year. I have a couple of wigs to finish (one of them I have to wait until it gets warm again). A couple of face-ups need to be redone as I've become unhappy with them over the past year. AND of course, elf ear mods - as if I'll actually get around to it (I've only done TWO in the past 7 years and I keep saying I'll do more but then I don't.)

As far as buying goes - I've slowed down a lot now that I have most of the important characters in my 'cast'. I want to upgrade a couple of bodies and possibly change a head for one of them if I can find something that matches him.

 

I'd like to get another doll, but I'm overwhelmed by choices at the moment and just can't seem to decide. I'd also like to get new wigs, clothes, etc. for the dolls I already have so everything will feel fresh/new.

 

I have a couple goals for 2023, some carrying over from my 2022 goals list:

• pay off your layaway for Gem of Doll's Sunny outfit with LegendDoll
• sell Viola's old body and buy her the better v2 body from Myou
• sell some doll items I haven't touched/no longer vibe with
• learn to re-touch/re-style some doll wigs now that you've gained some styling tools
• figure out a VERY simple background template for photographing your dolls
• also invest in a Ring light or an LED light (or both) and practice better doll photography
• stick to the 1-2 doll purchase limit of last year, and keep to yosd/msd/both. Same goes for playline/off-topic dolls
• also continue to work on better doll/doll display storage in your apartment
