    1. I'm reshelling a few characters this year. Currently waiting on a Luts Niya, and a Doll Family A Dimon. Once I get my tax return back I plan on buying a Dika Doll X to finish off the reshelling. Aside from dolls, I plan on buying a bunch of clothes and shoes for my whole crew.

    2. hopefully, i can get my resinsoul mei all blushed and get her faceup done. i still am not sure what i’m gonna do for the faceup but i’m thinking something kinda dramatic???

i also had to color match her face to the body with pastel, so i suppose the first thing on the todo is seal all that lol

    3. I guess my plans changed a little, as expected, at least when it comes to dolls I want to buy next. I've decided to put on hold the purchase of a body for the floating head since I can't fine one I absolutely love. Instead, I'm aiming for a 1/4 girl by Myou – Dietrich in coffee skin most likely. I've finally watched an unboxing of her and realized that she looks way better in another color than the one on her company pictures. I'm also considering getting Vieruodis, from Myou as well, in tan. I'm still a little hesitant about it bc she would be the only one I wouldn't see for, as 1/6 scale is too small for my own comfort.

Aside from that, my sewing plans have been going well enough so far!

    4. 1) Finish all the faceups (5 remaining)
      2) Sew/buy at least one full outfit for all unfinished dolls. (3 remaining)
      3) Join in on sewing journals
      4) Create more dolly knitwear
      5) Consider which characters to shell next; save up for them.
      6) Hopefully sell all items I intend to part with.
      7) Take more pictures.

    5. I'm planning to sell off most, if not all, of my current collection and downsizing from SDs to MSDs or YOSDs in an effort to get back into the hobby.

It's not easy to do since I've had these dolls a long time and adore them but with my current health condition, it's hard to enjoy the larger and heavier sculpts.

    6. 1) pay off all layaways
      2) finish at least 2 of my blanks
      3) begin working on character development and worldbuilding

I may consider selling one or two fullsets I own, but I'm not sure if I can bring myself to just yet - but at least the idea is there.

    7. Had to change my plans I mentioned in this thread before, because Dika Doll decided to discontinue a sculpt of theirs I always wanted. Now my plans for 2023 are:
      • Fully restringing most of my MSDs
      • Putting my SD girl together properly
      • Developing a style for my Dollfie Dream girl (so like buying accessories)
I will be avoiding new dolls or layaways of any kind from this point on, unless it's for my birthday.

    8. So, I'm updating this thread because I honestly completely changed this list. I ended up deciding it was time to get a Mini Dollfie Dream since my tastes have changed back to the more anime styled dolls. It ended up happening because I saw a MDD head here on DOA that I just had to get. And I fell out of love with the doll I had originally intended to do something with. I definitely made the right decision. :celebrate

My new plans for 2023 are:
      • Making my newly bought Mini Dollfie Dream into a Genshin character (Ayaka)
      • Making clothes for said doll
      • Buying shoes and wigs/ anything I can't make myself
      • Selling my old doll and all its accessories (just sold today, so this one is already done!)
      • Not buy any other dolls. Period.

    9. I'm really hoping to try doing my own faceups this year! I've been commissioning others for all of my dolls up until now, but I really want to give it a try myself. I'm an illustrator and I have experience painting so I should be able to do it...but I'm also very hard on myself and I'm never fully pleased with anything I make so I'm worried that I'll just end up frustrating myself. Hopefully I'll get over that and give it a try finally!

    10. For 2023, I would love to "find my way" in the BJD world. I've been experiencing different doll sizes and none of them has been a success for me (MSD were too big, and mature tinies didn't inspire me much). So my main goal this year is to find the kind of dolls that would be fine for me. Currently, I think about tinies as the best alternative, so I hope I'll be able to work on that (currently, I would love to find a pukifee to experiment with this doll size, I've always loved Fairyland so I think it might be a good way to start)

Apart from that, I have other ideas in mind for 2023 :
      - Finally sell the last mature tiny BJD I have (for a fresh start)
      - Really avoid "impulse purchases" (to avoid the same disappointments I had in the past)
      - Work on dioramas and miniatures
      - Get back into doll sewing
      - Take the time to try making doll wigs

    11. I love these threads, it's always a joy to come back and see what changes we make or what we stick to. I actually have a long list of things I need to get done, but these are the highlights. The main bulk of my list I keep track on my BJD Notion :XD:

New Dolls: Currently, I'm waiting on four dolls (one will be shipped soon, one is fully paid for, and the other two are on layaway), but I'm also looking into getting at least one or two more YoSDs and an SD boy (Charm Doll Carson). I need to get a body for a floating head too. We'll see though depending on if I manage to get a full-time job this year.

Faceups: I plan on getting/doing faceups for, oh gosh, eight dolls? I need to send out four of them (two I have, the other two are minifees that will arrive by June) and the other four I'll be doing myself. One additional doll needs a faceup repaired but it's not that bad that I need it immediately and it can be put off. I also am planning on dyeing one doll but I'm a little nervous about getting the color right.

Accessories/Clothes: I need to design and make clothes for at least three dolls and buy clothes for a few others. Eventually, more like next year, I'm going to commission some specific outfits for the two minifees I'll be getting. I also need to get wigs and eyes for incoming dolls... One set needs to be custom too.

      Crafting:
I want to try and craft more props for dolls and keep working on some dioramas. My main dilemma with the dioramas though is that I don't have the room for them anymore as my living situation has changed. I also want to see about building some type of wardrobe for my doll clothes. I've gotten a decent amount now and I've still got plans to get more (more dolls = more clothes needed) and I don't want them to just be shoved in a zip-lock bag/drawer anymore.

Hobby Involvement: I want to try and take more pictures again. I keep saying this but I'd like to do more outdoor photoshoots and the like.

We'll see how this year goes! I'll probably do an update at the halfway mark of the year.

    12. I ordered several dolls and heads in the second half of 2022, so this year I'm going to wait for those and hopefully not buy anybody else. What I do need to buy is bodies- at least two. I also need some eyes and whatnot for the new dolls.

As far as crafting, I'm learning to knit and crochet, so I'm hoping to be able to make new things for my dolls. I'd like to get back into sewing, I've been lazy with it for a long time. I need to make lots of wigs, and I might try making my own eyes using resin blanks.

So basically we're going to try to just finish dolls, not buy anymore. (No guarantees.)

    13. I already know I’m probably gonna buy some new dolls, I just placed a pre order for a pasha pasha crave mini, and I want to do the same for an xy mini. I want to get a Amadiz Lucio and a popovy sisters doll sometime this year, so I’m going to try to keep it to just those dolls for this year. I really want to work on my wig crafting skills, seeing all these beautiful handmade wigs has sparked my interest in making wigs. I also want to improve my face up skills, so I might just wipe some faceups on my current dolls and start over.

    14. I have purchased 3 dolls this year so far and don't see myself getting any others. My older dolls have been in storage for 3+ years, so I really want to freshen them up and fall in love with them again. I'd like to do some color correction on my two older Volks girls and get them new face-ups. I also really want all of my dolls to have at least one solid look that suits their character and I can build on, plus hand blushing for all. Once they are all cleaned up and well dressed, I will probably move onto diy stuff (especially clothes and props) and start saving for my grail.

    15. I don’t have many doll plans for this year, due to focusing on personal goals more, as well as saving money for the UK BJD Con. I'm super excited to shop for my dolls in person! :chibi
There are a few things I’m hoping to do, but I won’t stress myself if I don’t manage to.

I'd like to continue to work on Arwen, my FL Feeple65 Chloe. More clothes, shoes, jewellery, accessories and commission a new face up. I would like to try making her some weapons/staff/accessories myself.
Ideally, I'd like to clear out my collection a bit, before I get any more dolls. I know exactly which ones I want to let go, just need to find the energy to prep the sales. This would also help with the move I'm planning for the end of '23/beginning of 24'. I honestly don't want to pack and move so many dolls that I don't plan on keeping.
Lastly, I always get a birthday doll, but that is not until the end of the year, so I have not decided on that. After some thinking, this year I'm leaning towards getting 2 bodies instead, after the move, so that I can start working on my Kana Doll Ribbon and Petit Soiree Madeleine as 2024 rolls in. :)

    16. I just got back in the hobby after taking a year haitus! I think from my break I learned how much I kept comparing myself to other collectors and would buy whatever doll was popular or I liked. In the end I lost a lot of money and wasn’t happy and regret so many dolls I sold because I really did like them. Being back, I am focusing myself on only one doll :3nodding: she’s going to be mainly my little desk friend and I want to get back in photography. I already have a huge list of clothes I’d like to get her. I may get another doll one day, but for now, I just want to work in one.

    17. I'm thinking about getting another ResinSoul sculpt (directly this time) once I get my order through DDE.

    18. I bought quite a few dolls last year and have 2 incoming, but this year my focus is on enjoying the hobby. For me right now, that means:
      • Finishing all my current work-in-progress clothing items:
        • ✅️ SDGr girl knitted cardigan
        • SDGr girl grey dress
        • ✅️ SD13 knitted red/cream jumper
        • 1/6 scale knitted grey jumper
      • Putting Robin (my Volks SD13 Williams) together:
        • ✅️ Redo his faceup
        • Make his new wig
      • Giving Sadame (very very old Volks FCS boy) a full spa treatment so he can come out of box purgatory:
        • Deep clean, restring and maybe light sanding (he's a yellow boy)
        • New faceup
      • Getting my 2 incoming dolls ready:
        • ✅️ Doll 1: clean and restring - finished Feb 18th
        • ✅️ Doll 1: new faceup
        • ✅️ Doll 2: faceup
        • Doll 2: make her wig
      • And as a general goal: taking more doll photos with my DSLR
And if I accomplish all this, I'll be really happy. I'll try and come back to this thread and keep it updated!

    19. Last year was a giant whirlwind of doll purchases so I plan to be way more frugal this year overall. I'm waiting for four dolls currently and I have not completed any of the dolls I've purchased (story of my life lol) -- everyone needs clothes. So my main focus this year is finishing projects. I do have some extensive modification projects that I am sooo excited about and I really want to finish. I am doing my best to not get distracted by new and shiney lol. But I do have a couple planned purchases -- I want to get a Supiadoll this year for certain and a body for my Peakswoods Lemon Blue gift head. But other than those two, I am not currently planning any additional purchases. .....I expect I will definitely make other purchases (let's be realistic haha) but not more than one or two others. Fingers crossed I'll keep to that this year!

    20. I have everything I wanted, but I'm not going to be able to use it because I'm busy, so I'm not going to buy it relentlessly this year. Because it bothers me just to care about the dolls I have.... But I can't stand buying limited items.
      - The purpose is to do face up for all children.
