Doll sculpts that are similar in appearance

Heh, I recently said I found Amy from Iplehouse and Amy from Island Doll very similar - the eyes a bit different but not much more!

 

Bluefairy TF Gus and Crobidoll Nia look almost exactly alike. They could well be a kid and his older brother, considering the different sizes.

 

I think lati green lea and custom house Uriel are very similar (and I have the two of them jeje)

 

Is there a picture thread that demonstrates the similarities? I would be quite fun seeing them side by side.

 

I love Dream of Doll but I have to admit that most of their dolls look alike. There's very little variation amongst them, especially in the more recent sculpts.

 

My Soom Bygg and a friends Glorydoll Louis look a lot like eachother. As if Bygg is the younger version of Louis. They have the same expression on their faces ^^ Both a bit grumpy and tired
Still need to find a chance to make a pic of both together. There is always one missing when there is a meetup

 

KooDoll Blue and Dim Danbi look VERY much alike. I wasn't aware of how similar the sculpts looked until I purchased a Danbi and had him next to my KooDoll- they could be twins, that similar they looked o_O

 

Luts Kid Delf Bory and Luts Senior Delf Cian, they look like younger and older versions of each other x__x

 

I have a hard time telling Dollzone Kimi, Luke, and Aimi apart. XD And I even have a Kimi.

 

Everyone keeps saying Luna and Mihmi look alike.
So, at the NYC dolpa, I took some photos, thanks to the nice lady beside me who had the Mihmi!

Actually, they do have marked similarities in the eyes and nose as well as the shape of the face, but the mouths are completely different. I finally settle entirely on Mihmi after actually getting to see the two side-by-side

 

Dollshe Salubia/Sarubia (c.60cm) looks like DIM Choseol (c.25-30cm), so I got Salubia some Choseols as her children.

 

I recently saw a customized Luts Delf IF and a Fairyland Minifee Rheia, and WOW they looked like REAL sisters..I thought it was kind of cool, I would have never struck "IF" to have looked like a Rheia, but now whenever I see one, all I think is "Rheia's older sister xD"

 

Dion, Bory, and Cream look alike...odd...

 

Migidolls Miho Vampire and CP Vampire Lu-wen look so similar I couldn't tell them apart from one angle. ^^'

 

Dollmore Asha, Fairyland Kyle and Fairyland Woosoo-it's in the eyes and lips-and it's scary awesome.

 

I agree- I saw pics of each-that's scary how identical they are.

 

When my mom first said "Hey I saw that doll on DollnDoll's page" and pointed at Crobidoll's new vampire boy I laughed thinking she was still having troubles distinguishing molds but the appearance is crazy close O__O Only real difference in my opinion is Lance's nose is a little thinner and slightly different at the bottom, fangs, and Lance looks slightly thinner in the face.

 

Which dolls do you think look like each other?
To me the face sculpt of Luts Kid Delf Bory looks a lot like that of Soom Aphan

If there is a doll you like that has a look alike, do you end up wanting that one too? How would you choose between them?
No, owning Aphan does not make me want Bory.
It does though make me want to meet a Bory in real life, so I could really compare the two up close.

If there is a limited/hard to obtain doll that you really like, but a similar sculpt exists, which one do you opt for? Or you you end up trying for both?
Hmm it would really depend on the dolls, and the companies.
If I really liked one more than the others that would of course immidiately decide the case,
If I were to like them all equally, I would start looking at price, company feedback and so on.
I I were to fall in love with a limited doll and would not be sure about any of the similar dolls yet I would most probably just go for it and get the limited.

Do you try to form your collection into dolls that look similar to one another?
Uhm....... No. I just get dolls I like. I own from quite realistic (Dollshe) to cute (fairyland) to downright fantasy (Soom). and I love them all. it might be easier for me since most of my dolls have their own stories, and almost none of them need to fit together within one "universe"

Asleep Eidolon Adzuki Bean looks like a baby Dollzone Mo, IMO. :P

Since they are different sizes, I bought Adzuki to be Mo's son. He will eventually "grow up" into a Mo.

If they were the same size, I'd go for the one I liked better, unless he needed a brother.
