Dollheart Fukubukuro Thoughts?

I've never had a problem tracking EMS through the USPS site although airmail has have some issues. The tracking number I received did not work on the USPS site. The airmail vs EMS was not too different for me: ~$50 EMS to $40 airmail for shipping costs to the east coast US.
I hope to buy more soon! The SD girl bags have been hits and misses. I've gotten duplicate wigs, accessories and VERY similar looking shoes.

Anyone else having problem with the site? When I tried to buy things last night through paypal it would redirect to the login page- and would not let me log in.

 

I ordered on the 1st. they emailed me about the out of stock item very early on the 3rd, and I got back to them within an hour or so. they emailed me very early on the 4th to let me know that the replacement I requested was in stock and they'd be processing my order soon. and then I got a shipping notice on the 6th.
so everything was fairly quick for me, but since they did restock more bags after I ordered I'd say they may have had an influx of more new orders, so response time may be a little slower.

and in regards to ems tracking, I just tracked through usps because my number wouldn't register on the ems site.
it didn't update a ton, but my package got here really quickly; it arrived today after having just gotten a notice on the 6th.

 

I use 17Track to track my packages - they have an app so I can save the tracking number in there and compulsively check as often as I like. Sometimes it takes a while for the number to appear in the system EMS from Dollheart to here in the UK has been taking two days not counting Sunday.

Dollheart are usually really quick at replying. I don't think I waited more than a day for a reply to any of my emails.

My latest three SD girl bags were a-ma-zing. One included the full set of Destiny without the necklace, another most of Royal Chapel at Versailles Olivia and the other was all black and could form two outfits clothes-wise.

Yay I got my 2 YO-SD bags!!!
Im happy with it (although I got a dress in a trade yesterday and the same dress in a bag today... so the one in the bag will go up for trade)

overall I'm pretty happy with what I ended up with. not all of it is stuff that I'll use, but that's to be expected.

 

I just broke down and ordered 3 more bags, a pair of shoes that I want, a shirt, and a wig I fell in love with during someone else's fukubukuro opening video......
These are addicting

 

I've ordered 3 MSD bags and all I can say is that I'm really, really glad I did! This year's deal was just too good to pass up on and the items I've received are really great (mostly xD)!

This is my first bag (except the black socks, i mixed that up, sorry) and the one I like the least. The items are great, just not my taste x'D. Most of that will go to the swap thread, but honestly, I won't be too disappointed if I can't find a swap partner, because I'm pretty sure I will find a use for most of the items sooner or later (except for that hat probably). The best item in the bag were the purple flower shoes. I was hoping so hard for a pair of these and am so glad I got some! I would have prefered the blue ones, but those are fine, too x3. I forgot to include a white, very curly wig with pig tails in the picture. If anyone's interested, there are picture of my very grumpy boy modeling said wig on flickr. |D

The second bag is my favourite! Mainly because I got the cute bunny hat x'D! But all the other outfit pieces are super cute, as well x3! Keeping EVRYTHING! Except for the red flower shoes, they're up for trade.

The last bag was the most fun to unpack. Since I'm currently doing a semester abroad and have only one doll with me, a boy, he got to wear every.single.piece. Without mercy. And he was not pleased. But I had tons of fun. I was hoping for lots of boy items in my bags, but I'm really not complaining about that cute skirt! (I do have two girls waiting at home, too. So it's all good x3.) I love how there was a whole school girl outfit in that bag. AND THE HARRY POTTER SWEATER! I was hoping for one x3! Now if only I had gotten a scarf, too ;w;!

I'm late to the party, as usual... Where are you all finding these bags? I've looked at the Dollheart website and could not see them! Help please!

 

They are in the pre-order sales OCT section. You have to buy any other item on the web and then you add one of the bags for 10$.

 

Really hope they restock on the socks. Also go socks in almost every bag i got. Wonder how man socks they sold in this event.

I had bought Fukus three years in a row and gave up then.

Generally the best bags are the ones for sizes with a) not many outfits and b) only new outfits, because then you can kinda estimate what you are probably going to get and they can't give you some old rubbish they found underneath some table.
So the best sizes are 70cm and DD and at least the 70cm ones never disappointed me in terms of quality and amount of things in the bag, even if I didn't like the pieces itself.

However, two years in a row a lot of us in my group had bought YoSD ones and they were both times a huge disappointment.
There was barely anything in the bags, a lot of it was rubbish (like little paper accessoires or badly glued together fairy wings) and some pieces weren't even from DH sets.
And of course nearly everyone had this infamous flower dress that nobody knew where it came from.
In the end DH admitted that the 70cm bags were too full (LOL) and the YoSD ones too empty and that they would send people a gift, in the end the gift was a paper bag, a hat and another pair of fairy wings.

Fukus are only a good idea if you have many styles at home already and if, no matter what you get, you can use it.
Especially true if you have a new doll in a size and are still unsure how you want to dress it.

Else, save the money and buy a big outfit somewhere else or straight from DH, that way you truly get what you want, even if it's more expensive.

 

@Ara So sorry for your bad experience, although this year they have some really good bags. I agree that the SD and SD+ bags are better than the Yo-SD and MSD bags (although Im verry pleased with what I got)

I think they learned their lesson from previous actions and now that they are only $10 each bag it really is a good deal!
for me its the fun of not knowing what I will get and the fun of tradeing after I got it.

but indeed, if there is no doll that would wear this style, its best to buy something you really want.

 

I am a little confused now, how you guys been able to buy the Fukus without a second purchase (the Fukus only)?

 

@Maritime you can't. You have to buy another item from dollheart to be able to buy the fukubukuro bags. But many have bought socks and small items to be able to buy the lucky bags. And many don't show what item they bought to be able to buy the lucky bags and only show the content of the lucky bags.

 

I actually thought that was a one time thing?:O
Or did they change the Fuku system completely to this one now? Because if that's a case I'm really curious how they still make any kind of profit, since like you said some just bought a pair of socks to get their Fuku.
I bet that the next time they at least make it clear that you need to pay more than five bucks to be valid for a Fuku purchase.

I dont know how they make a profit, its only $10 to celebrate their 10 years off being in buisiness.
I think they make a lot off loss on it but they keep on restocking it so probably they do make a profit out of it.
although the socks are sold out XD
