1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

DOLLITS DKD Mini Discussion Thread

Aug 20, 2015

    1. @jenlovesdolls Oh, that's a good idea to wait too. I don't have any idea, because I don't know what sizes she *really* wears. I've found what the maker says and what really fits best are not always the same. I did not realize they come with eyes. Even if you don't like the tan too much, I'm willing to bet that you could trade for a normal one. I think you will like the tan though. It was a hard decision for me that I made in a matter of a minute, fear and doubt prevailed so I went with what is most familiar to me.

Thanks @Flamingomoon ! I certainly would have missed the limited order period if it wasn't for you! I'm looking forward to making some photos! I have some soft box lights on their way, so I can hopefully make some better photos than what I've managed before. I am a night worker, and never have managed good lighting for photos I try to take. I'm hoping that a lighting setup will help so I can share her with justice.

    2. I have used lots of different color/size eyes in my gal, Lizzy. I've tried small pupil and small iris for different looks. The truth is, they have all worked in their own way. Including the original eyes that came with her!

    3. Hello everyone! Sooo...my Miso arrived yesterday. Unfortunately I will have to contact them because the resin "bar" in one of the feet broke in transit and the hook snapped up into the leg and gouged it a bit. My question is: In this picture of the unbroken foot, it is normal to have the resin "bar" that holds the hook curve like this? I want to say it is, but thought I better check before I contact Dollits in case there are more problems than I thought.

    4. Oh wow :( I hope this is just a fluke and they make it right for you! I have a Miso coming (not sure when) and will look at mine when she gets here to see if she is the same. That broken foot doesn't look right at all though.

    5. I just checked my Eunsu and no, the bar does not curve. It almost looks like the resin was too soft when your doll was strung and the bar was pulled out of shape and then broke. I'm sorry this happened and ruined your new-doll-day (usually the BEST day) but Dollits is amazing for customer service and I'm sure they will make it right when you contact them.

    6. The bar definitely should not curve upward that much- here's a photo of a DKD regular foot on the left (always strung) and a heel foot on the right (rarely strung):

I hope they can get back to you soon! :pout:

    7. It looks like the bar in my doll's foot is straight, however I have the older body and he could have made changes. I did have a resin issue with a doll by a different maker and she said that often the dolls are in extreme heat while traveling and this can cause problems. I'm sure you'll get your Miso fixed, but I know you are disappointed !

    8. Thank you all for your reference photos and input!!:aheartbea I really appreciate it! I have now contacted them and asked for replacement feet. Good to know they are good with customer service. :) Hope to hear back Monday.

    9. @redmaiko Congrats on your dolly coming home! I'm sorry about her feet though. I'm willing to bet that she was strung before her resin was fully cured. Polyurethane resin cures to the touch much more quickly than formulas like epoxy, but sometimes environmental factors can influence it too. I hope you are able to get a replacement set of feet very soon!

    10. Does Dollits send you notification when things ship? I just want to know what to expect. I ordered my Miso a little over a month ago, so I am sure she isn't ready yet, but it would be good to know their process.

    11. I don't remember how good the timing was, but they sent an email confirming shipment and another when the package had been confirmed delivered. There should(?) be a tracking number too.

    12. Does anyone have a link to photos of the poseablilty of the newer body everything I'm googling is the older body I"m concerned the posing isn't the same because of the knee joints being much different. Maybe it still poses the same though?

    13. Oh good, thank you for letting me know. I don't know how long their wait time is for orders, but I wasn't expecting her any time soon.

    14. @jenlovesdolls I received an email when they they shipped mine. :) I ordered her July 7 and received her Aug. 12, which was a lot quicker than I expected! She was blank though, so maybe a faceup would add only another 2-3 weeks?

@Kitty Blue I could be missing it, but I only saw a couple of photos in the listing for the DKD43 body, unfortunately. The Flickr gallery only seems to show the old too.

I already heard back about the feet, and they will be sending me a brand new pair! Yay! Yup, great customer service so far!

    16. @redmaiko Did you get the new feet yet? I hope you do soon.

Has anyone else had a shipping notice yet? I'm patiently waiting for one any day now. Can the dolls share clothes with Minifees or are they bigger?

    17. @mollym I received the tracking number for the replacement feet on Friday. :) :cheer

    18. Yay! @redmaiko . I hope they get to you soon. I'm so glad to hear they were made up for you so quickly. This will be my very first dollits doll, so I don't know if they have the color mixes down pat or not, but I am hoping for your sake that it's a perfect match.

I ordered in July on the 11th, so I figure it could be any day now to get a shipping notice. I'm sure dolls are going to be sent all over the world and a lot were probably ordered. I'm just glad to have been able to do it, so I don't mind to wait. I'm not sure how I will dress her though. Does anyone know if they can wear Minifee clothes? Comparing the measurements, it looks like they should for the most part, and shoes too?

Also, do they have hooks in the feet and hands?

    19. Hi @mollym, they do come with hooks in the hands and feet. Mine came strung well, so changing hands and feet was not bad.
The Dollits DKD flat feet are listed 5.4cm long x 2.2cm wide, and Minifee feet are 5.5cm long, but I can't find how wide. I've stuck with ordering shoes from sellers that can give measurements, and most of those items are listed as simply 1/4 MSD shoes, haha :P
I don't know about Dollits fitting Minifee clothes (I tried sewing with slim MSD/Minifee patterns and they did need adjustments, like torso lengthening), so maybe someone else can comment better :sweat

    20. That sounds good @SailorEris . I suppose that it really can be any day now. My Minifee has a spare outfit, but I'm between that and a few extras I have for some other girls, she should be able to have something to wear when she makes it home. I'm glad she will have hooks, I really like when dolls have hooks and always seem to find myself adding them when they arrive without. Shoes are always difficult for me, and often the one limited factor to making a certain outfit look nice. I did notice the lengths were similar enough, so I will just have to try for myself when I can.
