Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Dollmore Alex and Alexia Doll from Gu Mi-Jeong

Dec 10, 2010

    1. The nice thing about dolls is they will wait patiently without a single complaint!

    2. Thank goodness for that! A week later, and Penda's outfit arrived. She looks so cute I just want to eat her up! Dollmore did a great job, except for one thing bugs me. Everything is lined except for the swallow tails. The thing you see the most. :confused

    3. She looks wonderful and I'm not noticing that the swallow tails aren't lined. :)

    4. I've been hanging out with my Penda quite often! She's an adorable desk buddy while I'm working on projects.

After falling madly in love with Tetradeka's Penda, I quickly bought the last in stock Alexia that Denver Doll had. I got her last week and immediately went to work on her face-up. As expected, it was very smooth going because of how expressive and beautiful this sculpt is. I was going for a natural look so tried to not get too heavy handed. The resin is a little lighter weight than I expected, and she does need some hot glue sueding to help with her kickiness, but her arms hold poses really well and I adore her body shape and details.

I was very pleased that she fit into a SD10 outfit I had purchased secondhand that did'nt work for the doll I originally bought it for.I also had some cute Dollheart SD shoes that fit her which surprized me. I like her with these 10 mm eyes I had on hand, but am not sure yet they will be my final selection. I think I have settled on Lorina for her name, but time will tell.

I suspect this doll will drastically change my collection. After having one of Gu-Mi Jeong's dolls, I am definitely planning on getting a Narsha Zihu. I love how realistic, soulful, and expressive this doll is. I need to blush her body, and especially her hands since they are so spectacular.

    7. Oh, your girl is absolutely gorgeous! :)

    8. Thank you so much opal! I am very smitten with her myself. I have some other dresses coming for her and will have to spam some more shots of her as the summer goes on.

    9. *GASP* Oh, wow!! Your faceup is just stunning and the outfit is just gorgeous. You did some amazing things with your Alexia. I have to say I am mildly jealous! That's a look that my Penda would adore to sport. But I'll have more time next month to work on her and I can make her my own then. Meanwhile, she's just keeping me company and holding my scissors for me :)

    10. Eeek! Thank you for giving me the highest of all compliments!

Can't wait to see what you do with Penda. She inspired me to act on this purchase and I owe you both thanks for sharing how special this doll is.

    11. Penda is very talented! :)

    12. I think I forgot to add a photo of my Annessa with her two younger sisters, Eilidh/Narsha and Laurel Annie/Shabee.

    13. Opal thank you for sharing your sisters! They are lovely in their pink dresses and definitely look like they are related. I also have a plan to create a Dollmore group of sisters and have a Narsha Zihu ordered to add to my group.

What a great action shot with all her magic making tools! I adore her in that wig. That serious almost sneaky expression she has gets me everytime.;)

    14. Thank you, Luckyl! :) I made the dress Alexia is wearing, but I don't rememeber where I got the other two.

    15. I really like the style of the dress you made. It is quite unique. Those are cute shoes Elidh is wearing, do you recall what brand they are?

    16. Opal I love your little family. They really all make great sisters. I too have fallen for Gu mi jeong's sculpts. I had an elf Dahlia but I had to sell her because of her size. I feel Alexia fulfills my Lusion bug in a more portable version. I think Zaoll is going to be next for me. :)

    17. Eilidh's shoes are by Goodreau, I have several different pairs. My Dollstown 5yo girls can wear them too. Your best bet is to search ebay for them, they haven't been made for several years.

    18. Thank you! I want a Zoall Luv as well, to be the big sister. :)

    19. Brilliant minds think alike~ I am thinking about a Zaoll too as a big sister to my Alice Liddell inspired doll family. I have seen one with an Alexia and the Zaoll heads look a little small in comparison. I wish they would make more Alex type heads to go with the Zaoll body. They still have a limited edition Alex on a Zaoll body for sale on the Dollmore site and she looks great and if I had the money I would be tempted, but don't really want to spend all that for that fullset roccoco style outfit I probably won't use much.

Thanks Opal for the info on the shoes! It is so helpful to know what brands fit before you buy them.
