1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Dollmore Banji What Clothes, Wigs and eyes fit?

Jan 26, 2006

    1. OMG, Auntie Em, I had no idea you had one of these dolls. :o So adorable!!

    2. Ah I had a feeling some of the bratz kids clothes would fit. And thanks for the info! Nothing wrong showing a little mid drift lol

    3. Thanks for these photos! I'm assuming this means her arms are too big to fit into there.

Your doll is gorgeous by the way!

Have you considered some vintage dolls, like Dawn? I don't OWN a Banji *supersad* but I would definitely try some of her outfits :)

EDIT: Oops, totally managed to miss the above pictures! I guess the Dawn outfits DO fit!

BTW Katie_Raven, your boy is soooo pretty! I LOVE the little skull belt. He's a little pirate :)

    4. Argh and I'm stupid and cannot figure out how to delete this extra comment! I'm so sorry :(

    5. Can anyone tell me the exact measurments for Banji's feet (in cm or mm). Maybe I just missed them somewhere . . . I am going to order some shoes to try on her, just trying to figure out what size will fit best.

    6. Tuvie, Banji's feet are 2cm, the info is on Dollmore's site on the Banji pages :)

Spacemachine, the arms aren't too big, but Banji's hands are quite wide (but beautifully detailed and expressive), which can present problems when trying to put sleeved clothes on them :)

BTW, some vintage Pippa/Dawn clothes arrived this morning that I bought from eBay - most will go to my housemate's Pippa doll when she arrives, because they're too long, but there was a v.cute Heidi style short pink and white dress that I've put on my Banji that suits her well. I have to mend the back opening and fasteners, but once I've done that I'll take a photo and upload it to this thread :)

    7. Oh . . . sorry :sorry. I am looking for the width too, though.

    8. I just measured my Banji's foot, and it's 1cm across the widest part :)

      Liz

    9. I don't think so, at 2.9cm long (inside 2.6cm) the shoes could be a little big for Banji, who have 2cm long feet. Banjis also have feet that are 1cm wide, and while Luts don't give the width of the shoes, they look a bit narrow.

    10. Most of my shoes for my Elf Elly boys are a little big but it helps stabilize them some when they are standing. Most of the 'official' Dollmore shoes are a little larger than their wee feetsies.

Here they are with my mother's So vampire Ji (she is wearing modded Kelly shoes):

    11. I purchased my Banji girl, Kismet, from another DoA member. Her previous owner had wired her legs to try to fix her "crazy" leg problem. She was kind enough to send me the new Banji legs when she received them. I would like to put Kismet's new legs on, which will require re-stringinging her. The string for her legs attaches to the S-hook in the head, correct? Does anyone have any tips or instructions on how to re-string a Banji?
Also, I'd like to get her new eyes. Does anyone know if 6mm fits better than 8mm?

    12. I have 6 mm in my tinys eyes
(that reminds me ..I ment to look for some )

there is a tutorial somewere around for restringing an Elf , I would just do the Banji the same :)

I wouldnt be without my hemostats and several long peices of wire

I will see if I can find the tutorial for you :)

My own thoughts on restringing Banji (I restrung my own).

      Useful tools for restringing
      - strong toothpicks (I sometimes use plastic pins meant for pinning handknitted sweaters when sewing the seams, or plastic toothpicks).
      - small hemostat for clamping elastic
      - little pointed and flat or angle tweezers because tweezers are smaller than fingers.
      - wire - I fold a slightly stiff long piece of thin wire in half to make a doubled piece that is inches longer than the longest doll part. For Banji, a 12 inch piece then folded in half would do. Use it various ways to pull elastic through body parts. If a doll is large enough, you can make a long wire with a hooked end for pulling through elastic.
      - Heavy nylon thread, thin fishing line, or even heavy white/flesh cotton thread for tying on small pieces, if needed.
      - Appropriate size elastic with good stretch

      - AND when you take you doll apart, do not mix up the left and right limbs!!! Put them in separate places or bowls.

You probably should try to do it like the Elfdoll tutorial.

I found my thread on my experience restringing my own Banji's legs but I cheated badly and I don't recommend you do it the way I did (which I now cannot even understand). But this may help save you frustation by reading what I was unable to do.

Masterpeice size 6 are fantastic ...but expensive
I have some Kemper 6mm glass ....beautiful colour but havent tried them in yet

    15. Thanks you two :)!

    16. I am so confused about that elfdoll tutorial! What do you do with Banji, who doesn't have the hooks on their arms? Also, apart from the white hook in the headcap of Banji's head, is there supposed to be an s hook?? O_O

    17. Hi, I just got my very first tinies ever four days ago.

A Sweet Dew Banji Boy, and a Sweet Dew Banji Girl. I love them dearly already. However, the wigs that Dollmore sent with them... are leaving a bit to be desired, at least for my poor now balding girl.

I was wondering what size wigs Banji's can pull off wearing:

For example would a 4" wig be too big for them? Am I doomed to the incredibly tiny selection of 3" wigs?

Hope that someone knows ^__^ Thanks your help if you do. :fangirl:
