DollMore Catish Dolls discussion part 1:

Kitty, I agree. They really were good. I even talked to them on the phone. I asked if the doll had the same faceup and what happened to her clothes. I could see that she had different eyes, but I really liked them. I was told that it was the Mint Sherbet faceup and that Dollmore had lost the clothes so they just gave her something else to wear. That was OK by me, and I could see she had the original wig. I could tell her nails weren't painted, but I thought if it was a display model, maybe they didn't paint the nails. I had no idea it was a different set of hands, nor entirely different body!

FF&D was kind enough to contact Dollmore about the clothes, and with what they communicated back to FF&D I was told that this was in fact a Mint Sherbet Reaa LE 10. Again, I think it's just laxity on Dollmore's part to communicate, but also maybe a bit on FF&D to investigate. They have been great though with quick email responses and fast shipping, so I am pleased with them so far.

I didn't even think to ask about the body, hahah.

It's so frustrating! I'm really hoping Dollmore will just come around and let me exchange the body incl. hands and feet because if they were selling it to FF&D as a Mint Sherbet Reaa LE 10, well, they weren't 100% transparent. I'm sure it was just an oversight. They've been really nice, too. We'll see what happens.

 

WOW, its a real bummer that the doll you got was a kitten, not a cat! But you also might have a really unique girl there. I'm just sayin. I'd keep the head and wig and trade to DM the body for a more mature one, like you're doing. She's a definite keeper...or her head is anyway!

Just as a heads up..... I wrote to Dollmore Abby about the use of "vert" and "lac" via my eBay transaction for my White Vert Reaa. Rather than explain it, I'll just post the conversation here. It's so cute:

That may be the case.... but I want a cat, not a kitten! I want the doll that was advertised, ya know? I really hope that DM can swap out the body for me. Thank you, Ryu.

 

Did FF&D send the photos to Dollmore that you took..obviously they can't say the entire doll is the Reea, just the head...I'm not certain what you paid for her but hopefully it wasn't at the same price as the LE10 Reea...I believe she was $358. I wouldn't have thought to ask for pictures either...maybe you can send a follow up directly to Dollmore and explain to them and show the photos, maybe even do a side by side of with their site photos.

I have thought about reaching out directly to Dollmore... my fear is that they will say something like "we told FF&D that they were buying a floor model - if she didn't check to see what body it was, etc. then that is their fault."

Haven't heard back yet from FF&D - hopefully she did send out the photos to Dollmore. And I paid slightly less than the LE10 Reaa price - 8 dollars less, in fact. I guess they didn't want to round up!

I do want to reach out to Dollmore but I want to give FF&D the opportunity to try to make it right. With the July 4 holiday I expect I'm going to have to wait a bit. If I don't have mail by say, Noon on July 5 I'm going to re-contact FF&D and let them know I want to return the doll (or most of it).

I've looked on the Dollmore website and found the right feet and the right hands (on the Japanese website!) but not the right body for sale. Ho boy. I just can't let go of that head, though.... Does that make sense to anyone, or am I being a huge dork? Hahaha!

 

They don't sell the Judith body separately that I'm aware of. She is a pretty kitty so its understandable wanting her as she is suppose to be, She doesn't look too bad on that body, but yea when your expecting one thing and get another it is rather frustrating.
Also I found the clothing outfit set it is defintitely Dollmore and was sold with the Kid doll Charmant: http://www.dollmore.net/shop/step1.php?number=6024&b_code=B20130904105116 though it looks like your is missing a few pieces it sells for $469 O_o wow..I would have thought the Catish dolls sold for more. So I guess price wise even though its not the fullset for either its stilll a compareable price.

Iris is really great so I'm sure she'll do her best to try and figure things out for you.

 

Wow, Kitty, thank you for doing that research! I'm willing to bet that what I received was that Reaa head stuck on the Charmont body!

And there are some Catish Reaas that do sell in the $400s.

 

orinoco_flow, I'm so sorry for your misadventures... especially after being so happy to have found the doll of your dreams! I think you have two possibility:
Split your doll, get in some way a Judith body and sell the kid body and the outfit;
Send back the doll and wait for a Mint Sherbet to pop out. I don't know if you have already a marketplace access, but Catish Reaa dolls doesn't seems to sell very fast and I think there is already a second hand Mint Sherbet Reaa waiting for a buyer.

I am sorry for breaking the rules! I thought I was just asking for help in general, haha!

Regardless, on July 4 I got MP access so I've been doing some shopping.

I've decided to keep the doll from FF&D for now, Mitis. Iris was pretty firm about not accepting only a body/outfit for a partial refund, even when I offered to send along a head so that she would have a full doll. I'm *extremely frustrated* with my experience there. It's saddening because so many people have said many good things about FF&D but I didn't get the kind treatment they did.

In the meantime, I need to go document this debacle so I can lay it to rest.

Thank you all for your help and I'm SORRRY for derailing the thread! I'll make it up with doll spam, I promise!

 

MY RED REAA SHIPPED!

She'll be my first made-just-for-me, not second/third/sixth-hand doll, and I'm pretty excited! Now to figure out where will she go in the (doll and doll-related) jumble that is my bedroom.

orinoco_flow, I really hope that things work out for you, even if you have to pieces-part her in order to get her complete. I had to do that with one of my dolls, and even though it was a bit of a nerve-wracking experience, I found out that I actually saved a LOT of money, maybe you will too.

congrats I was wondering if you snagged the Reea I saw in the MP..I was tempted by her. It is neat how different the sculpts can look with different colored wigs and eyes even with the same face up. love your little catsy, I have one in white but haven't done anything with her..kinda want to get a more recent one as mine is old and doesn't have the kitty paws or magnets.

It never seems like they have the catsy's available on the site at least everytime I look..lol. I'll have to take a photo of mine with my Catish dolls at some point. I also just order Luts KDF Lio and Corni so its going to be a variety of kitty family. Right now my Catish girls are hanging out on the same shelf as my Luna Tamer, Angelsdoll Cian and Iseul and a hujoo kitty..lol.

 

Kitty Blue, I really think a picture is in order! You can PM me if it's off-topic here. I just love cat people! Though I'm really specific about what I like. I mean, I like all cat people on principle but I won't buy a doll just cos it's a cat person.

I'll have to check out the Luts KDF Lios and Cornis.

(google her for more info and pics, I found her story fascinating!) She will be going to her very first meetup tomorrow, I'm so excited!

Yay glad she's finally home Ryu! Sorry to hear about the chest piece though; hopefully you won't have to wait very long for a new one. I love that you named her Bettie Page; now that I look at her wig she very much resembles the famous pin up model ^_^.

I can't wait to meet your Red Reaa, I think you got the very last one! I know of one other person that lives in the Dallas-Fort Worth area near a friend of mine that has one. I wonder who got the other seven?
