Dollmore Model Doll Mellow Cole

Apr 10, 2007

    1. It's because in the USA, the only "Politically Correct" way of referring to blacks is "African American".... People here are so conditioned to saying this they forget that yeah... there are European blacks, and even African blacks!! XD

Ah ethnocentrism, ain't it grand? ^_~

      Raven
      PS: This doll is GORGEOUS!!!
But yeah! I wanna see her with dark eyes and natural makeup too. I have an allergy to "fashion dolls" haha...

    2. Though it's OT...PC makes me crazy.
      and the doll is gorgeous.

    3. I think she looks exactly like Naomi Campbell. I don't think Tyra Banks is quite that dark skinned and Tyra has more asian looking eyes to me. Naomi Campbell was the first name that popped into my head when I saw her.

    4. Wow, I am so in love!

    5. Heehee xD I was wondering too... one of my boyfriends was black... but he was born in and resides in Holland o.O so he's... African-Dutch..anese xD? But his parents aren't from Africa! They're from the Caribbean O.O so... what is he? Heehee...

Anyways! I think it's lovely to see another black dawl :D I think her nose could use a little more definition o.O but other than that I'm happy to see her added to the model doll line ^^.

    6. Whether she's black, African-American, African-british, or just plain African, it doesn't take away from the fact that she's gorgeous!! My first thought when I saw her was "Ugh, DollMore's jumping on the Cocori bandwagon", but wiping those thoughts away, she really is amazing! And GE at that!

    7. She is gorgeus. :D Maybe not straigth on my list, but if I win a lottery... *starts planning a new character* :doh

But, I would also prefer her with a more natural make-up instead of the "fashion doll" style. And what's with the blue eyes! Every doll manufacturer seems to give their dark-skinned dolls blue eyes, why on Earth? (I changed my Cocori's default blue eyes to brown right after I opened her box..)

    8. Oh, my... 1960s Barbie Blank face. Mouth full of pearlized gloss. >_< Poor lass.

But still: way to go Dollmore, moving into the tan-ness. Looks good!

    9. Yes I saw her! She is so beautiful.....I really like her. *sigh* I can't buy anymore dollies though! I must resist!
BTW: I love Barbie and fashion dolls! ^_^

    10. It really is just that we are taught in the US that this is the polite way to refer to people who have African heritage. No, I don't think every American thinks every dark skinned person is from Africa! That is silly! It is just that is how we have been taught to id people of these physical characteristics. There are times at my school where people from Africa have been called African American because that is one of the few ways people know how to refer to people with African heritage without offending them. It is a matter of language, not arrogance.

    11. i looked at her too, she is so very gorgeous!! she is quite dark for a tanned doll indeed, but it suits her so well, she is absolutely lovely!

I indeed would like to see her too with a more natural face-up, and maybe dark green eyes (like tyra ;) ) but her lower lip looks a bit weird.. maybe its the shiny lipgloss ^^ and the fact that the lipgloss ran in between her lips :( as if she ate it XD
her skin colour is fantastic, it has a very silky shine and it looks so smooth!

gorgeous girl!! :D but howcome dollmore is producing new dolls so fast? i mean, i cant even find many bonnie hopezszsz here yet :P or is that just me?

    12. Gorgeous doll. She actually reminds me of Naomi Campbell. I would also like to see a different color makeup on her, but she is a stunning doll. I'm glad they're branching out. More ethnic dolls please!

    13. Exactly! You said it better than I could.

Personally, I think we should go to ice cream flavours - chocolate, vanilla, butterscotch, caramel - with strawberry being anyone with a sunburn.

    14. That's the best idea of heard yet. XD Oh PC, aren't we fun? o_O

Yeah, I don't like her faceup, either! Has anyone else noticed that, in general, when they release a black girl, the companies always give her these kind of, well, trashy faceups? o_O Like all black women wear pink lipstick and awful eyeshadow and in general dress like ghetto drag queens? It confuses me. >_O I want her blank, though, so I can have my wicked way with he--er. I mean. No?

    15. gah ... so pretty! just when i get done convincing myself that two bigguns are quite enough to handle dollmore releases her. and yeah, i'm agreeing with most on the face-up -- too trashy. i'd like to see her with somehting more natural. but i totally want her.

    16. Whoa, can we say Naomi Campbell? The resemblance is amazing! :aheartbea

    17. I totally love her. I have been telling myself that I do not want any model dolls but I really love this one. She's very African but also very different from my Cocori. I've not been that crazy about the Iplehouse Aaron because he looks short next to my Dollshe guy, but if Dollmore makes a tall black man it's all over. I will have to have both of them. (scurries off to buy lotto tickets)

    18. Totally Naomi Campbell, but isn't she lovely ? Almost $200 more than the other Model Girls though... Ouch.

    19. I'd like to see her in a skintone just a shade lighter, her face-sculpt would make an awesome south asian or middle-eastern woman.

    20. Am I the only one who thinks she looks almost exactly like Ipsae? They raised her cheekbones, widened her nose and did something to her eyes but the rest looks like Ipsae.
