Dollmore Model Women Bonnie Hopezs Discussion

Have you seen a Model doll in person? The body is VERY womanly, extremely curvaceous and very busty. I agree it's not the right body for this girls head, and it is tall, but it IS uber womanly.

 

I don't really like her all that much. Her face is too babish it reminds me of soony or soah. Plus she looks more like 12 to me than 15. I just don't think it would fit with that type of body. However that opinion is just through the promo photos. I think my opinion could be swayed once I saw some owner photo's of her. I have to admit promo photo's don't really show the best qualities of a girl sometimes. However I don't think I will be buying her anytime soon. I've been gripping for a ipsae for about a year now and I almost have her! So no bonnie for me!

 

I don't think she looks all that young, really. She has a much more Asian face than the other Model dolls, and Asian women tend to look relatively young to western eyes, so that's where that comes from. She certainly looks like a woman to me.

OK now that I found the news thread and picture, I have to say that I really love Dollmore's realistic face shapes. They seem to be one of the only companies making dolls that are beautiful, but not cookie-cutter beautiful. The only other place I can think of that compares is Dollshe.
I love Bonnie's chubby face. I think she would make such a sweet 50's or early 60's girl in a retro wig.

 

I think she is my favorite of the 3 model dolls. I hadn't considered one before, but Bonnie is now on my shortlist of potential first BJD girl to buy.

She's DARLING that's for sure, but not 15, even with the babyface that kind of body belongs on someone 17 or 18 at the youngest. I really adore her though, she's way to cute. Though the hands are kind of strange.

 

Some of the shots of her look sorta angry. She's cute, but the face seems a bit young for the mature model body.

 

Granted, Ipsae was the first BJD I saw that actually convinced me I needed to get one, so it's automatically a rather difficult task for any other doll to match up, but... Bonnie just doesn't do much for me. Which is lucky for me, I have to say! I barely had time to feel grateful that Kyle Reese didn't grab me (I might be in trouble if/when they come out with new head sculpts though) before I saw there was another Model Girl and thought "AGH! No! Not more temptation!"

 

I've wanted a Model doll, but sadly I'm kinda working on my Soah-esque family (Even my Purin kinda looks like Soah in some ways), and I've always toyed with the idea of putting a Sooah head on a taller body to give her an older/more model-like sister. Someone just did it for me.

I definately think with the right face-up, she could look much more 'mature.' I mean, Soah has a baby face and I've seen some young ones and sultry beauties out there.

 

I'm fifteen, too, and I can easily imagine that being the face of someone older. She actually has a fairly strong jawline and with her asian looks she could pass as over eighteen. I don't think it's so much the body being too mature for her as too thin and lanky- her face gives the look of someone shorter so the neck looks almost scarily thin in comparison sometimes. However, I like contradictions such as the cute face and mature body of my IH Louis, so it's not always a bad thing!

I happen to prefer the others but I wouldn't spend that much money on a girl doll, anyway, so it makes no difference to me..!

And what's wrong with Japanese porn stars? XDD

 

I second that! I'm sort of wanting to get a girl BJD at some point, and Bonnie reminds me of Rinoa Heartilly from Final Fantasy VIII , I always felt sympathetic with the character, and Bonnie has the same innocent look as Rinoa does which I find a big tug on my heartstrings... ^_^ Plus I think she may be a good height for Tetsu too....

 

I simply am CRAZY about Bonnie !!
I love her realistic face, her oriental look and her expression varying according to the angle of the camera !
She is the very next BJD I will buy and I am saving up for her right now !

I already have Ipsae and I think she looks very romantic and very soft and shy, but Bonnie has a real modern look to her, so I guess Ipsae will soon be dressed in a 1900s or 1910s young lady, while Bonnie is going to wear very contemporary clothes (lolita, punk and so on...).

Something to remember, though, is that many fashion models in the real world ARE in their teens...some as young as fourteen.

So, it's not that odd that Bonnie is only fifteen.

 

Yes, many top models are in their early teens (14) and not half as fully developed as Bonnie ! She has nice curves, does not look anorexic and I am thankful to Dollmore for that !

As to having Japanese porn stars for friends, well, they're people just like us, aren't they ?

Actually I ordered Bonnie and paid for her yesterday. Now, I just have to wait !
