    1. Hi, I might be buying a doll from AS in the future, and I was wondering - how fast does the French resin yellow, compared to normal resin? The person at AS I asked by e-mail told me that it would be the "same quality as" normal resin if I ordered the UV coating as well, which I think means that the French resin will yellow at the same rate as normal resin (if I order the UV coating). However, I need others' opinions about it. =P Does the French resin with UV coating yellow quickly?

      Oh, and does the current pink resin from AS fit the colour of a DOT body? I've seen people saying that it is far pinker than DOD's earlier in this thread, but I just want to make sure.

    6. If you search in the Customizing subforum, there's a thread called "French Resin and Yellowing" that will answer a lot of your questions.

      Certainly French resin with a UV cut additive will yellow more slowly than other French resins but they will still yellow more quickly than a urethane doll over time. Some owners are bothered by this while others are not. You won't want to ever leave your doll in direct sunlight or display it for long periods of time in very bright rooms. Even in a dim room, yellowing will occur. It's less noticeable in normal skin tones and tans, and is more obvious on white skin dolls. I hope this helps a bit.

      According to some of my friends, DOD dolls tend to have a more natural colour after yellowing, as their current skin colour is rather pink. I wonder if this is the same with pink-skinned AS dolls, as their dolls are a shade darker than DOD's...

    10. I'm wanting a white skin senior lucifer in the future (hopefully a christmas gift) but I would really like to know what the bodies actually look like. The face is perfect for the character I have in mind, best sculpt I have ever seen for him actually, but I haven't been able to find any pictures of the body. Are the SD's urethane or french resin? There seems to be some dispute over that, and I thought I'd seen that they had a new body style? I just want to know as much about these dolls as I can before I commit. I think I would order from Denver Doll here in the US to save on shipping, so I really just want to know more about the doll.

    11. I had ordered an AS Vera back in March. :3 I recieved her on april 4th. It took only about two weeks, total, to get her.

      How is the quality?

      Amazing. I was scared there would be color differences, but she is beautifully perfect and very nicely strung. My Vera has fallen many many times as well.. and there have been no scratches or dents what so ever. (:

      Did the dolls look like the ones in the photos?

      Well, my Vera was fully blank, no faceup. But yes, she did. :3

      How is the posability of the doll?

      Hrm.. I have some trouble posing her in some ways, but other than that, it's not to tight, and not to loose.

      What kind of skintone do the dolls have? (really pinkish, normal fleshy skintone... comparisons with other companies?)

      My Vera has the Pinky White tone. She was a little darker than I had expected but.. I am happy with it either way.

      How was the customer service?

      GREAT. It was literally one to one service with the owner. I ordered my doll when the old owner was still working there, but recently Zero took over. We talk over MSN sometimes and she's very helpful with everything you need to know.

      How was the packaging? Did they send it with a carrier bag?

      Ehh.. It didn't come in a postal box.. they just sent her in her official doll box.. which was really tore up and what not. But I didn't care about that. She did come with a pillow like carrying bag.

      Is the store reliable?

      Very. Like I said they are very one on one and helpful.

      How is the resin smell?

      The smell on my doll has faded a little, but it was a nice smell when I opened her up. XD

    12. Has anyone ordered a Senior doll? Is it worth the extra money for the double-jointedness? I only have a couple (very loose) dolls, but if the normal body is comparable to other companies and able to pose well, I'd like to know those comparisons too.

      I have the Normal body, Snow Lucifer. He is gorgeous. Although I kind of wish I got Dark insted. It's the eyebrows. Love those crazy brows.

      Did the dolls look like the ones in the photos?
      I think he is even more beautiful. His face up is quite exquised.

      How is the posability of the doll?
      He seems to pose well. He is my first so I am a little nervous about poseing him. I have this nightmare I will stand him up look away and he will fall and shatter into a million pieces.

      I have the snow version, which is pale but not white more like a soft ivory. In pictures he looks more white.

      How was the customer service?
      Zero is very helpful. I had a small issue with his headcap and he was on it.

      I bought him at Dollectable so no box for me. I did get the nice carrier bag, with one face shield, extra elastic, two photo (of dark Lucifer) and the wire for additional posing support. He also came with eyes and a wig. Both very nice.

      Is the store reliable?
      Zero has been great at getting back emails.

      How is the resin smell?
      He smells like resin but only it you put your nose directly to him. He did not come with the special scents.

      Anything else?
      I really like their sculps. I had only found out about AS after I bought my doll. I had seen him and fell in love. But then I found their site and there is a lot of things I would have ordered it I had gone through their site. They have stock clothing available as well as other wig and eye options. Plus I really love the Dark Lucifer and Gavin. I haden't seen him. I like way too many of their molds. I think their prices are great as well.

    14. Just wanted to add that if you don't want to order directly from AS, you can now order the dolls through www.denverdoll.com, which if you live in the US you will save on shipping. It's also just nice to deal with companies that don't have a language barrier also. I'm thinking of ordering a Gabriel or maybe a Gus from them. They are also carrying the clothes, but after reading about the fitting problems, I'm thinking that I shouldn't waste my money.

      I ordered my KANA with face-up, clothes, hair and eyes and they're all very nice! :) There are no faults, no seamlines and she looks nice to the tiniest detail :aheartbea

      She does very much, she even looked that way out of the box with no hair, eyes and clothes ^^

      I have no problems posing her, she also stands very nice:)

      pink. And I ordered a body blushing and she looks very nice with it. I do not have any comparison though because I don't own other company's dolls.

      Very good, they reply quickly and nice.

      She came in an AS bag inside another bigger box and was carefully put in a pillow-like soft carrier bag. Also she was wrapped in bubble wrap two times and had two face-caps over her head to protect her. The other items were also packed separatly.

      In my opinion yes! ^^

      How is the resin smell?
      I picked vanilla scent for her and she really came with the smell of vanilla, which I really love!:)

    17. I've had my Gus girl for about a month now... One of her strings have already either snapped or come undone in her right leg (I actually noticed this about three days after getting her) AND the string tied around the metal S hook thing in her head is fraying and looks like it won't be much longer until it snaps. I don't even take her out or do anything with her. She sits on a shelf... all day, all night.

      Is it the same if I get it from Denver, or is it better from AS itself?

      For now I am thinking of taking the senior ones but is it really wotrh it?

      And there is some color comparison on denver, but could someone post the dolls with those color?

      I want a pink color... but not too pink XP
      Oh... and Lucifer (If I ever get enough) will be my first doll... so I'm really igorant XP

    20. It's the same thing. If you order from DDE, just make sure what you order is what they have in stock. If you order something that is not in stock, then they will order it from A-S and you will have to wait even longer.

      My girl doesn't have a Senior body; for I see no need for it.

      The picture of Gus that you see on DDE (that ISN'T the stock photo, but the one of her in the blonde wig) is actually MY doll. :sweat

      Most people have the Milk Pinky resin colour, as it is more natural looking. I have the Milk, and it is very pale but quite beautiful.
