Dolls going off the wishlist

Aug 18, 2009

    1. In the last 3 months I've "expelled" many molds from my list, especially the tiny ones: Pukifee Luna, Lati Yellow. The reason is probably due to the fact that after I've received my first MSD I've fallen in love with this size, and I would love to purchase other MSD. Also, there has been a slow digression towards more particular molds, such as DollLeeke Ashley and Ariana and the Dark Alice from Pipos.

    2. -How often do dolls go on and off your wishlist?
Not all that often, since there's not a whole lot on the 'official' wishlist.

-What makes a doll go off your wishlist?\
Cost, and the availability of the mold. Most of mine are LE or very hard to find, so my wishlist is more of a "if it ever comes up at a good price" list.

-Have you ever saved up for a doll and then decided (before you bought it) that you didn't like it as much anymore? What was the reason for this?
Nope. The only doll I ever saved up for I never second-guessed buying. I knew I wanted her, and I got her. :)

    3. When I rediscovered BJDs I stuck a whole lot on my wishlist, now I've kinda pruned it, but there's still a lot on there. Sometimes I see owners pics of the doll and I start to think that they look nothing like the company's photos, that would be another reason to prune them out. I can be very inconstant sometimes, unless I'm really sure about something, so those dolls I added to my wishlist on a whim, somethimes go off, but they might get added back later on XD

    4. I think my wishlist needs to be refreshed...

EDIT: Did a total overhaul, and examined every doll I placed on the wishlist. I think I started off with around 12 - cut it down to four or five.

Went back, studied each doll, wondered if they still struck me like they did when I added them (for most of them, the answer was 'no'), and systematically removed those that I no longer liked. I did end up adding one, which I think is new from Migidoll. Some of them, I didn't know what I'd been thinking because they didn't excite me at all.

    5. My wishlist is a crazy mess and the ones that get dropped off are either the ones I found unappealing after awhile or the ones that I never created a character around. And to answer that last question. I originally saved up for Soulkid Liddell but then I found Kid Delf Ttori who was both cheaper and looked like my oc. I guess I also stopped have a dollie crush on her.

    6. -How often do dolls go on and off your wishlist?
I try to think really hard before I add anything to my wishlist which is why it is REALLY short. I don't think I've taken anything off of it before (except when I purchased the doll).
-What makes a doll go off your wishlist?
I think I would take something off my wishlist if a new doll came out that I prefer.
-Have you ever saved up for a doll and then decided (before you bought it) that you didn't like it as much anymore? What was the reason for this?
I had intended to purchased the blue ridding hood chiwoo from fairyland when it came out but I ended up getting the mnf chloe which I had been wanting for a long time before. The reason was that more pictures of chiwoo were released and I realized that I wasn't totally in love with him (just his clothes).

    7. -How often do dolls go on and off your wishlist?
On more often than off, unfortunately! XD
I only have two dolls that have been on my wish list since the very beginning and are still on there. Others sort of come and go, I can be head over heels in love with a doll when I first see it and consider it for a couple of months only to realize that once the thrill is gone I'm sort of over it. I've never bought a doll like that, luckily, but I'm afraid I might impulse buy one sooner or later...

-What makes a doll go off your wishlist?
Owner photos. I was sooooo infatuated with Supia's Nael until I started finding pictures of her on flickr, it was both sad and lucky since she was next on my list until then. It would have been a shame to buy her and find out she wasn't really "it" when I opened the box. Then again, i'm still hoping to find more pics of her to change my mind again... Because I really love how she looks in the company photos. Time will tell, I suppose. :)
On a brighter note, owner photos are actually what usually puts a doll on my wish list too. :3

-Have you ever saved up for a doll and then decided (before you bought it) that you didn't like it as much anymore? What was the reason for this?
Well, yes, the Supia Nael for reasons just listed above. Otherwise, no. :)

    8. -How often do dolls go on and off your wishlist?

Usually once a doll is on the wish list it generally stays there. All my dolls are characters of mine so I only look for dolls that will work well for the character.

-What makes a doll go off your wishlist?
If I find another doll that fits the character better.

-Have you ever saved up for a doll and then decided (before you bought it) that you didn't like it as much anymore? What was the reason for this?
Thankfully not done that yet *touch wood* lol

    9. -How often do dolls go on and off your wishlist?
Pretty often when I am on a new doll high from just buying one.

-What makes a doll go off your wishlist?
Sometimes I find a doll that would better suit the character, sometimes I realize that I cannot place it with a character and would not really enjoy it, and sometimes I decided I do not really want to shell that particular character.

-Have you ever saved up for a doll and then decided (before you bought it) that you didn't like it as much anymore? What was the reason for this?
hmm, I do not recall ever doing this. By the time I am saving for them, I am usually certain I want them

    10. I'm constantly changing my wishlist...the ones I have right now weren't there 2 months ago and I will probably change it soon...the only one who has always been on my wishlist is CP Woosoo and he will always be there... apparently ={ (I can't find him anywhere at a decent price that it is not over $1800)

Oh and I don't save up money for dolls, I save up for College or my family but not dolls.

edit: scratch that!! I'm saving for one now:sweat

    11. -How often do dolls go on and off your wishlist? Alot of the time lol
-What makes a doll go off your wishlist? Either I already ordered another doll or have to buy something I need more...example is today my labtop kept acting up so I am buying a new one as backup, so I had to choose between 2 dolls which I wanted more and took the other off my wishlist(since by the time I can buy him, I am betting he will be sold out), edit: Pixiu is back on my wishlist again
-Have you ever saved up for a doll and then decided (before you bought it) that you didn't like it as much anymore? Save up? what is this word? LOL i am spontanious with my money and usually use sites that have layaway, so nope. What was the reason for this? N/A

    12. -How often do dolls go on and off your wishlist?
I have a few on my wishlist that I know I absolutely want. I find many dolls pretty and desirable, but not enough for me to actually make the commitment to buy in the far future.

-What makes a doll go off your wishlist?
If I no longer want the doll because of various reasons. Such as no longer having a character that works for him [I have no interests in female dolls].

-Have you ever saved up for a doll and then decided (before you bought it) that you didn't like it as much anymore? What was the reason for this?
I haven't had this problem yet, but I make sure I want the doll before I even bother saving up for. My only doll so far was a gift from me and I absolutely love him, and my next doll [on layaway] is one I really really want.

    13. How often do dolls go on and off your wishlist? -What makes a doll go off your wishlist?
There are a lot of non-limited sculpts that go on my wishlist, sit there a long time, then I change my mind. For most sculpts, if I don't buy them soon, I lose interest because there are so many new sculpts constantly coming out.

With limiteds, a year or so ago I'd add them to the wishlist and buy them a few days later. I'd like to think I have more impulse control now, though. If I see a limited I like, I'll give myself to the end of the order period to decide. Usually, I decide not to purchase the doll. Once a doll is no longer readily available, I take it off my wishlist. (I feel the same about discontinued sculpts.) I try to stay off the MP, but if I saw a sold-out limited that I'd previously considered (or missed out on) at a not-too-inflated price, I might buy it.

-Have you ever saved up for a doll and then decided (before you bought it) that you didn't like it as much anymore? What was the reason for this?
I've never saved up for a specific doll. However, sometimes if I think about what else I could do with the money that a doll I'm considering would cost, I change my mind. Also, sometimes a particularly bad owner's photo will make me reconsider.

    14. I have a bunch of dolls on my wishlist that have been there for almost as long as I've been in the hobby and there are some who have left the list as soon as I looked beyond the photo that snagged me and start researching the doll. Most recently that would be the BBB Pixiu, which I thought was great at first, but then as more owner photos popped up it started to lose its appeal. I kept putting other dolls in front of him and finally just dropped him.

    15. As a person who cut down their wishlist from fourteen dolls to just four... It took me a long while to do that, as it was a wishlist accumulated over a long time and because they were all dolls planned for characters I adore; however I found out that even if I weren't to get a doll for them I'd still love the character just as much... so no harm done. This way I just cut down to these four dolls that I absolutely, undeniably love -even wigless, eyeless and faceupless- and actually feel a lot better about my collection since then.

    16. Just like Soenatte, I recently reduced my wishlist from around 14 dolls to 4-5. For a long time now, I felt overwhelmed by the amount of dolls I 'had' to buy, because they represent characters from a shared story with Soenatte. As such, I didn't want her to get their 'other half' if I didn't get them. And at first I didn't know how to tell her that I didn't really want them anymore.
Eventually I told her and we decided to downsize our wishlists together x'D I feel much much better since uvu I still really like the dolls I had in that list and maaaybe soooomeday I might actually get some/all of them, but for now, I am happy with the dolls I have and with the dolls I will get sooner than later~ >v<

    17. My wishlist consists of one single doll, currently: LLT's Ludwig. And I'll wait for him for years, if I have to. There will be no other doll going on my wishlist until then and he won't get kicked off. From what I've seen, so far, he'll be perfect. :)

I never had a real "wishlist" of dolls, I think. There's only the "oh, I'd like that one - I guess" list. Or I'll fall in love with one and spontaneously buy it, if I got the money (that's how I got my Lumedoll Blaze). But since I'm running out of space (and I really mean it) and also, really oughta save up some money in earnest for a new flat, I'm determined that Ludwig will be the last doll I'll buy for quite a while. And knowing that I can be pretty stubborn, I guess I'll manage to refrain from buying any more dolls. :)

    18. Mine tend to change because either they're really expensive or they're limited and I don't feel like searching!

There are SOME that I could go for searching for.

    19. the truth: don't enter many dolls in my wishlist, I do not put any oneto be nice, if the methodologies that I love and I make it clear as it should be. But these last months have gone quite a 5 or 6...
I'm not regret my actions so for now I have bought all

    20. -How often do dolls go on and off your wishlist?
Rarely, not too often, depend on situation and condition.

-What makes a doll go off your wishlist?
Because I no longer have a fond of the molds.

-Have you ever saved up for a doll and then decided (before you bought it) that you didn't like it as much anymore? What was the reason for this?
I haven't and hopefully it never happen to me.
Usually I maintain the fondness, I start saving when I'm sure he/she's the one.
