Dolls Not Cooperating for Photoshoots

Mar 22, 2015

    1. Last summer I took 3 dolls to a park at the end of my street for a photoshoot. I had recently made a new outfit for one of them and he was less than pleased with it. Usually, Khale is a good, somewhat regal poser. Not this time. The entire time he was in the new outfit, he'd tip over from a perfectly solid seated position or fall backwards from the same the moment I took my hand off him. There wasn't a hope in hell of getting him to stand even for a nanosecond. I changed his clothes into an outfit he liked and miracle of miracles, he posed like a dream for the rest of the shoot.

I have another doll that poses poorly outside (unless seated) but poses just fine inside. I should point out that his character doesn't like getting dirty or bugs so maybe there's some carry over.... I've also got a doll that poses really well... as long as he's the focus. If there's other dolls in the shot, he either does these slow-mo falls, usually into other dolls, or completely out of nowhere lunges for the hardest surface around. I could successfully have him standing on grass and he will, without fail, find the one rock or branch or whatever to try and bash his noggin on if there's others in the shot with him.

    2. @ Lady Tiku - ooommmggggg the lush! That is the best!!!!

How about cats not cooperating with doll photoshoots?? Cuz I've got pics of that!

And because. You know. He hadn't felt he'd crashed the party quite enough yet...

      ...thanks kitty. xD

    3. Ugh this just really reminds me of one time I was taking pictures with Alexis, my grail doll, a Migidoll Jina.. he's usually a REALLY good poser and very solid. But all of a sudden-- his knees buckled and he smacked his face against the windowsill! I was distraught -- he got a big black mark on his nose D: Luckily I was able to clean it up with magic eraser and have his faceup artist fix the sealant and everything, or I would have been crying forever. D:

Another time, we were doing a photoshoot on a bridge over a highway, and one of my girlfriend's Minifees' hand came off and went flying lol. We still have the stump -- the cars running it over broke all the fingers off XD we were just glad it wasn't the doll!

      1. I wanted to pose her in the easter branches and one of the eggs fell off. I went to put it back on, while she was still in the branches and she fell. Luckily, I had bend her knee for balance or she would have dropped to the floor.

      2. Another time, I wanted to put a yosd girl in a plant, but as I was trying to balance her, I saw a spider. I'm very arachnaphobic, so I screamed and let go. She fell, but thanks to our super dolly snatching powers, I managed to grab her wig, which by some miracle stayed firmly on, preventing an epic nose dive on the stone ground.

      3. When I was struggling to get a doll to stand, I threatened to sell her and suddenly she stood like a rock. No lie.

      4. Not my doll. My own female msd was with my friend and I had her boy. I wanted to sell some stuff and needed a msd to model everything. Isamu doesn't seem to happy with it. My friend commented that blonde wasn't his color. xD

    5. lol, great thread. I should see if I have any Pics of my guy Voltaire left... He hates to pose, way tightly strung (lol, pun intended) and I have not gotten around to fixing him so he totally unposable. Kinda like the lush but on something. ;)

      Found one:

    6. nothing is more frustrating than finally getting the perfect pose and your doll falling over before you take the picture.... OTL happens to me every time i try to get pictures of Taylor and Jeb together...

    7. im glad im not the only one whos dolls are disobedient! this thread made me laugh :)
My dolls dont like to look in the direction id like them to, i pose them, then when im ready to take the pic their head flicks up like "oooh is that a bird?!" they are easily distracted. they bend over too, like their shoelace is undone...? (no shoelaces) ad theyre sueded, etc.
