Dollshe and the sculptor may not advertise his products on this forum. Sales may not be discussed, no news threads may be posted regarding new releases. This ban does not impact any dolls by Dollshe ordered by November 8, 2023. Any dolls ordered after November 8, 2023, regardless of the date the sculpt was released, are banned from this forum as are any dolls released under his new or future companies including but not limited to Club Coco BJD. This ban does not apply to other company dolls cast by Dollshe as part of a casting agreement between him and the actual sculpt or company and those dolls may still be discussed on the forum.     1. I buy dolls to be characters, not really the other way around. I've been thinking about attempting one without, but I think I'll have a character that needs to be a doll that I'll go for and it'll never happen.

    2. I would say I roughly have about 100 characters throughout by novels and only about 20 or so shelled into dolls. It's a long tough road to get all of them I want (a. I'm terribly picky with heads, b. almost as picky with bodies). Also there just isn't enough space to have them all. But a least I am to a point that I am happy with my collection. :)

    3. How do you divide it, do you have more dolls than characters or vice versa?

      I'm like yumi. I like the dolls first and then make OCs for them-- so my dolls are my characters.

      I have OCs but I don't tend to shell them as dolls, although they can inspire my doll characters. I don't want to limit myself to OCs shelled as dolls. The dolls never seem to match all that well to my characters anyway. (I'm an artist and I don't even like drawing my characters much, since they never are quite right. Yeah--it's WEIRD, but what can I say?) So my dolls can sort of stand in for some of my characters, but not really...!

    4. I have many more characters than dolls. As of now, all four of my dolls are from the same story and the next two I plan to get will be as well. However, there is a pair who are in a universe all their own (although they may come in tangentially) who I've wanted to shell ever since I got into the hobby. The only problem is I'm super picky about the sculpt, particularly for the slightly younger of the two. I've been writing for years now so I will probably always have more characters than dolls, some of whom I have no desire to shell at all.

    5. I didn't start creating real OCs until after I got into BJDs. I used to write but every time I would create new characters, so I never had OCs that became very sentimental to me until recently. However, now that I've created characters out of the dolls I do have, I've created more characters to accompany them in their stories, so at this point I've got more characters than dolls xD

    6. I've got waaay more characters... and at the rate with which I seem to create them, I'm sure I always will-- there's no way I could shell all of them, and honestly I doubt I really want to... but it would be nice to have the important ones all done, at any rate.
