Dolls without face-ups?

Nov 18, 2012

    1. While I personally think I wouldn't have a doll without one, I see no problem with a blank faced doll, especially if that was really how the owner envisioned them to look. :D

    2. Well this thread didn't help me! lol
There is this doll in MP...right now...who is blank and I love him just like that!
I have never had a blank doll...never thought I would like a blank doll but he seems so sad and perfect without one!
He does look ghostly and thats how i see him. Not so much as a ghost but more a figmant of the imagination. I feel like if i get him and gave him a face-up he would be locked into that one look but blank...he is everything and nothing all at once...

    3. I actually really hate seeing pictures of dolls in wigs and eyes and clothes with no face up. Face Up is the very first thing I do to my dolls when I get them, and I'd never post fully-done dolls with no face up. But when I see them, I just scroll past. I dislike them, but no need to make a fuss

    4. They can be very pretty, and if you want a new face you can always do it yourself or get someone to paint it on

    5. Blank dolls don't bother me but I love the special touch an artist can give a doll! That being said I recently fall in love with a tan doll but only liked it blank. He looked wired with the face up, maybe because red lips on a tan doll don't look so realistic.

    6. Hehe, we're all crazy in our own ways! XD Loving a blank doll is absolutely fine; I'm in the same boat as you. Until my doll gets a face-up, I will love him just as he is. :aheartbea

    7. Blank doll faces can look really nice. It gives you a good idea of what your doll really looks like, you know? But I don't think I'd want one with a blank face. It just wouldn't look 100% complete to me. I'd at least want them to have eyelashes or something done around the eyes to make it look a little worked on.

    8. I'm okay with people love blank doll, but for mine, I just fine it to bland maybe? Like lips color is the same with skin tone. But around eyes is fine, I have seen people have thin amount of eyelash that is unnoticeable, same like how doll have blank faceup. Sometimes faceup can be over too much and it is better to blank.
But it's your doll after all. If you like blank face, just enjoy and happy with it. That's what make this hobby enjoyable :)

    9. I don't have any problem with blank dolls - I think it's pretty as well. But I think dolls with face-ups are often prettiest.

    10. I like them best with face-up, it doesn't have to look like make up, just some shadowing, eyebrows, eyelashes and slightly redder lips can give a doll so much more expression and personality already. It's pretty cool that so many people have different preferences about this though
